< 1 Corinthians 16 >
1 Now concerning the collection for the sanctified, as I arranged for the congregations of Galatia, so also do ye.
Now concerning the offering for the saints, you also are to do as I directed the church of Galatia.
2 Upon the first day of the week let each of you set something aside near himself, storing up whatever he may prosper, so that when I come no collections may be made then.
On the first day of each week let each of you put aside something, keeping it in store as he may prosper, so that when I come there may be no collections going on.
3 And when I arrive, whomever ye may approve by letters, I will send these men to bring your gift to Jerusalem.
On my arrival I will send those whom you may accredit by letter to carry your bounty to Jerusalem.
4 And if it is fitting for me to go also, they will go with me.
And if it is worth while for me to go too, they will accompany me.
5 But I will come to you when I pass through Macedonia, for I do pass through Macedonia.
Now I shall come to you after I have gone through Macedonia.
6 And it may be that I will remain with you, or I will even spend winter, so that ye may set me on my way wherever I go.
I shall remain some time with you; possibly spending the winter, in order that you may help me forward in whatever journey I take.
7 For I do not want to see you now in passing, but I hope to remain some time with you, if the Lord allows.
For I do not wish at this present time to see you merely in passing; but if the Lord permits, I hope to remain some time with you.
8 But I will remain at Ephesus until Pentecost.
I am staying for the present in Ephesus, until Pentecost;
9 For a great and effective door has opened to me, and yet there are many who are hostile.
for a door has opened to me, great and effectual, and the opponents are many.
10 But if Timothy comes, see that he becomes without fear with you, for he works the work of the Lord, as I also.
If Timothy come, see to it that he is among you without trepidation; for he is doing the Lord’s work, as I am, so let no one disparage him.
11 Let not any man therefore disparage him, but send him forth in peace, so that he may come to me, for I expect him with the brothers.
Whenever he comes to me, send him on his way in peace, for I am expecting him with the other brothers.
12 And about Apollos the brother, I urged him much that he would come to you with the brothers, and it was not at all his will that he should come now, but he will come when he has opportunity.
As for our Apollos, I have many times urged him to go to you with the others, but he was always unwilling to go to you at this time. He will come, however, whenever he has a good opportunity.
13 Watch ye, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, be manly, be strong.
14 Let all things of you be done in love.
Let all that you do be done in love.
15 Now I beseech you, brothers (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the first fruit of Achaia, and that they committed themselves to service for the sanctified),
I beg you this, my brothers - you know the household of Stephanus, that they were the first-fruits of Achaia, and that they devoted themselves to the service of the saints -
16 that ye also be subject to such men, and to every man working together and laboring.
so I want you also to show deference to such, and to every fellow worker, and laborer.
17 And I rejoice at the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus, because these men filled your lack.
I am glad that Stephanus and Fortunatus and Achaicus have arrived, for they have made up for your absence.
18 For they refreshed my spirit and yours. Therefore acknowledge ye such men.
They refresh my spirit as they do yours. So cultivate the acquaintance of such men.
19 The congregations of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the congregation associated with their house.
The churches of Asia greet you. Aquila and Priscilla (Prisca), with the church that meets in their house, greet you heartily in the Lord.
20 All the brothers salute you. Salute each other by a holy kiss.
All the brothers send greetings. Greet one another with a holy kiss.
21 The salutation of Paul by my hand.
The greeting of me, Paul, with my own hand.
22 If any man does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be accursed. Maranatha.
If any one does not love the Lord, let him be accursed. Our Lord is coming.
23 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ is with you.
The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.
24 My love is with you all in Christ Jesus. Truly.
My love be with you all in Christ Jesus.
