1 Corinthians 11
1 Become ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
૧જેમ હું ખ્રિસ્તને અનુસરુ છું તેમ તમે મને અનુસરો.
2 Now I praise you, brothers, that ye remember me in all things and keep the traditions, just as I delivered them to you.
૨વળી તમે બધી બાબતોમાં મારું સ્મરણ કરો છો અને જેમ મેં તમને જે આજ્ઞાઓ આપી, તે પ્રમાણે દ્રઢતાથી પાલન કરો છો માટે હું તમારી પ્રશંસા કરું છું.
3 But I want you to know that the head of every man is the Christ, and the head of a woman is the man, and the head of Christ is God.
૩હું તમને જણાવવાં ચાહું છું કે પ્રત્યેક પુરુષનું શિર ખ્રિસ્ત છે અને સ્ત્રીનું શિર પુરુષ છે; અને ખ્રિસ્તનું શિર ઈશ્વર છે.
4 Every man praying or prophesying having something upon his head dishonors his head.
૪જે કોઈ પુરુષ પ્રાર્થના કે પ્રબોધ કરતાં પોતાનું માથું ઢાંકેલું રાખે, તો તે પોતાના માથાનું અપમાન કરે છે.
5 But every woman praying or prophesying with her head uncovered dishonors her head, for it is one and the same thing as the woman who has been shaven.
૫પરંતુ જે કોઈ સ્ત્રી ખુલ્લે માથે પ્રાર્થના કે પ્રબોધ કરે છે, તો તે પોતાના માથાનું અપમાન કરે છે, કેમ કે તેમ કરવું તે વાળ ઊતરાવી નાખ્યાં સમાન છે.
6 For if a woman is not covered, let her also shear herself. But if it is an ugly thing for a woman to shear herself or be shaven, she should be covered.
૬કેમ કે જો સ્ત્રી માથે ઓઢે નહિ તો તેણે પોતાના વાળ ઊતરાવી નાખવા જોઈએ; પણ જોકે વાળ ઉતરાવવાથી સ્ત્રીને શરમ લાગે તો તેણે માથે ઓઢવું જોઈએ.
7 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, being an image and glory of God, but woman is a glory of man.
૭કેમ કે પુરુષને માથું ઢાંકવું ઘટતું નથી, તે તો ઈશ્વરની પ્રતિમા તથા મહિમા છે, પણ સ્ત્રી તો પુરુષનો વૈભવ છે;
8 For man is not from woman, but woman from man.
૮કેમ કે પુરુષ સ્ત્રીથી થયો નથી, પણ સ્ત્રી પુરુષથી.
9 For also man was not created for the woman, but woman for the man.
૯પુરુષનું સર્જન સ્ત્રીને માટે કરવામાં આવ્યું ન હતું, પણ સ્ત્રીનું સર્જન તો પુરુષને માટે કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું.
10 Because of this the woman ought to have authority over her head, because of the agents.
૧૦આ કારણથી અને સ્વર્ગદૂતોને લીધે સ્ત્રીએ પોતાની આધિનતા દર્શાવવાં માથે ઓઢેલું રાખવું તે ઉચિત છે.
11 Nevertheless, neither is man independent of woman, nor woman independent of man, in the Lord.
૧૧તોપણ પ્રભુમાં પુરુષ સ્ત્રીરહિત નથી, અને સ્ત્રી પુરુષરહિત નથી.
12 For just as the woman is from the man, so also the man is through the woman. But all things are from God.
૧૨કેમ કે જેમ સ્ત્રી પુરુષથી છે તેમ પુરુષ સ્ત્રીને આશરે, પણ સર્વ પ્રભુથી છે.
13 Judge ye among yourselves, is it proper for a woman to pray to God uncovered?
૧૩સ્ત્રી ઘુંઘટ વિના ઈશ્વરની પ્રાર્થના કરે એ શું તેને શોભે? એ વાતનો નિર્ણય તમે પોતે કરો
14 Or does not nature itself teach you that if a man actually wears long hair it is a disgrace to him?
૧૪અથવા શું પ્રકૃતિ પોતે તમને શીખવતી નથી, કે જો પુરુષને લાંબા વાળ હોય તો તે તેને અપમાનરૂપ છે?
15 But if a woman wears long hair, it is a glory to her, because her hair has been given for a cloak.
૧૫પણ જો સ્ત્રીને લાંબા વાળ હોય તો તે તેની શોભા છે, કેમ કે તેના વાળ આચ્છાદનને માટે તેને આપવામાં આવે છે.
16 But if any man appears to be a lover of strife, we have no such custom, nor the congregations of God.
૧૬પણ જો કોઈ માણસ એ બાબત વિષે વિવાદી માલૂમ પડે, તો જાણવું કે, આપણામાં તથા ઈશ્વરના વિશ્વાસી સમુદાયમાં એવો રિવાજ નથી.
17 Now in this that is commanded, I do not praise you, because ye do not assemble for the better but for the worse.
૧૭એ કહીને હું તમારી પ્રશંસા કરતો નથી, કેમ કે તમે સુધારાને માટે નહિ, પણ બગાડને સારુ ભેગા મળો છો.
18 For indeed first, when ye come together in a congregation, I hear divisions are present among you, and I partly believe it.
૧૮કેમ કે પ્રથમ, તમે સભામાં એકઠા થાઓ છો, ત્યારે તમારામાં ફાટફૂટ હોવાનું મારા સાંભળવામાં આવે છે. અને કેટલેક અંશે તે ખરું માનું છું.
19 For there must also be factions among you, so that the genuine may become apparent among you.
૧૯જેઓ પસંદ થયેલા છે તેઓ પ્રગટ થાય એ માટે જરૂરી છે કે તમારામાં મતભેદ પડે.
20 When therefore ye come together in the same place, it is not to eat the Lord's supper.
૨૦તો તમે એક સ્થાને મળો છો ત્યારે પ્રભુનું ભોજન કરવું એ અશક્ય થઈ પડે છે.
21 For each man proceeds to eat his own meal, and one is hungry and another is drunken.
૨૧કેમ કે ખાવામાં પ્રત્યેક પોતાનું ભોજન કરી લે છે; કોઈ ભૂખ્યો રહે છે તો કોઈ સ્વછંદી બને છે.
22 For have ye no houses to eat and to drink in? Or do ye disparage the church of God, and humiliate those not having? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you in this? I do not praise you.
૨૨શું તમારે ખાવા તથા પીવા માટે તમારાં ઘરો નથી? કે શું તમે ઈશ્વરના વિશ્વાસી સમુદાયને ધિક્કારો છો, કે જેઓની પાસે નથી તેઓને શરમાવો છો? હું તમને શું કહું? શું એમાં હું તમને વખાણું? એમાં હું તમારી પ્રશંસા કરતો નથી.
23 For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which he was betrayed took bread,
૨૩કેમ કે જે હું પ્રભુથી પામ્યો તે મેં તમને પણ આપી દીધું, એટલે કે જે રાતે પ્રભુ ઈસુને પરસ્વાધીન કરવામાં આવ્યા, ત્યારે તેમણે રોટલી લીધી,
24 and having expressed thanks, he broke in pieces, and said, Take ye, eat, this is my body broken for you. This do ye for my memorial.
૨૪અને સ્તુતિ કરીને ભાંગીને કહ્યું કે, ‘લો ખાઓ, એ મારું શરીર છે, જે તમારે માટે ભાંગવામાં આવ્યું છે, મારી યાદગીરીને સારુ તે કરો.’”
25 Likewise also the cup after the supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood. This do, as often as ye drink it, for my memorial.
૨૫એમ જ ભોજન કર્યા પછી, પ્યાલો પણ લઈને કહ્યું કે, ‘આ પ્યાલો મારા રક્તનો નવો કરાર છે; તમે જેટલી વખત તે પીઓ છો, તેટલી વાર મારી યાદગીરીને સારુ તે કરો.’”
26 For as often as ye eat this bread and drink this cup, ye proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.
૨૬કેમ કે જેટલી વાર તમે આ રોટલી ખાઓ છો અને આ પ્યાલો પીઓ છો તેટલી વાર તમે પ્રભુના આવતાં સુધી તેમનું મૃત્યુ પ્રગટ કરો છો.
27 Therefore whoever may eat this bread or drink the cup of the Lord unworthily of the Lord, will be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.
૨૭માટે જે કોઈ માણસ અયોગ્ય રીતે પ્રભુની રોટલી ખાય, કે તેમનો પ્યાલો પીએ, તે પ્રભુના શરીરનો તથા રક્તનો અપરાધી થશે.
28 But let a man examine himself, and let him so eat of the bread, and drink of the cup.
૨૮પણ દરેકે પોતાની તપાસ કરવી. એમ કરીને રોટલીમાંથી ખાવું અને પ્યાલામાંથી પીવું.
29 For he who eats and drinks unworthily, eats and drinks condemnation to himself, not discerning the body of the Lord.
૨૯કેમ કે પ્રભુના શરીરનો ભેદ જાણ્યાં વગર જે કોઈ અયોગ્ય રીતે ખાય તથા પીએ તે, ખાધાથી તથા પીધાથી પોતાને શિક્ષાને પાત્ર કરે છે.
30 Because of this many are weak and sickly among you, and a considerable sleep.
૩૦એ કારણથી તમારામાં ઘણાં અબળ તથા રોગી છે; અને ઘણાંએક ઊંઘે છે.
31 But if we were discerning ourselves we would not be judged.
૩૧પણ જો આપણે પોતાને તપાસીએ, તો આપણા પર ન્યાય કરવામાં નહિ આવે.
32 But when we are judged by the Lord, we are chastened so that we may not be condemned with the world.
૩૨પણ આપણો ન્યાય કરાય છે, ત્યારે આપણે પ્રભુથી શિક્ષા પામીએ છીએ, જેથી જગતની સાથે આપણને શિક્ષા થાય નહિ.
33 Therefore, my brothers, when ye come together to eat, await each other.
૩૩તો મારા ભાઈઓ, તમે ભોજન કરવા એકઠા મળો ત્યારે, એકબીજાની રાહ જુઓ;
34 And if any man is hungry, let him eat at home so that ye may not come together for condemnation. And the rest I will set in order as soon as I come.
૩૪જો કોઈ ભૂખ્યો હોય, તો તે પોતાના ઘરમાં ખાય, જેથી તમારું એકઠા મળવું શિક્ષાપાત્ર થાય નહિ. હવે જે કંઈ બાકી છે તે હું આવીશ ત્યારે યથાસ્થિત કરીશ.
