1 Chronicles 23
1 Now David was old and full of days, and he made Solomon his son king over Israel.
大衛年紀老邁，日子滿足，就立他兒子所羅門作以色列的王。
2 And he gathered together all the rulers of Israel, with the priests and the Levites.
大衛招聚以色列的眾首領和祭司利未人。
3 And the Levites were numbered from thirty years old and upward. And their number by their polls, man by man, was thirty-eight thousand.
利未人從三十歲以外的都被數點，他們男丁的數目共有三萬八千；
4 Of these, twenty-four thousand were to oversee the work of the house of Jehovah. And six thousand were officers and judges,
其中有二萬四千人管理耶和華殿的事，有六千人作官長和士師，
5 and four thousand were porters, and four thousand praised Jehovah with the instruments which I made, David said, to praise therewith.
有四千人作守門的，又有四千人用大衛所做的樂器頌讚耶和華。
6 And David divided them into divisions according to the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
大衛將利未人革順、哥轄、米拉利的子孫分了班次。
7 Of the Gershonites: Ladan and Shimei.
革順的子孫有拉但和示每。
8 The sons of Ladan: Jehiel the chief, and Zetham, and Joel, three.
拉但的長子是耶歇，還有細坦和約珥，共三人。
9 The sons of Shimei: Shelomoth, and Haziel, and Haran, three. These were the heads of the fathers of Ladan.
示每的兒子是示羅密、哈薛、哈蘭三人。這是拉但族的族長。
10 And the sons of Shimei: Jahath, Zina, and Jeush, and Beriah. These four were the sons of Shimei.
示每的兒子是雅哈、細拿、耶烏施、比利亞共四人。
11 And Jahath was the chief, and Zizah the second. But Jeush and Beriah had not many sons. Therefore they became a fathers' house in one reckoning.
雅哈是長子，細撒是次子。但耶烏施和比利亞的子孫不多，所以算為一族。
12 The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.
哥轄的兒子是暗蘭、以斯哈、希伯倫、烏薛共四人。
13 The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses. And Aaron was separated that he should sanctify the most holy things, he and his sons, forever, to burn incense before Jehovah, to minister to him, and to bless in his name, forever.
暗蘭的兒子是亞倫、摩西。亞倫和他的子孫分出來，好分別至聖的物，在耶和華面前燒香、事奉他，奉他的名祝福，直到永遠。
14 But as for Moses the man of God, his sons were named among the tribe of Levi.
至於神人摩西，他的子孫名字記在利未支派的冊上。
15 The sons of Moses: Gershom and Eliezer.
摩西的兒子是革舜和以利以謝。
16 The sons of Gershom: Shebuel the chief.
革舜的長子是細布業；
17 And the sons of Eliezer were: Rehabiah the chief. And Eliezer had no other sons, but the sons of Rehabiah were very many.
以利以謝的兒子是利哈比雅。以利以謝沒有別的兒子，但利哈比雅的子孫甚多。
18 The sons of Izhar: Shelomith the chief.
以斯哈的長子是示羅密。
19 The sons of Hebron: Jeriah the chief, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
希伯倫的長子是耶利雅，次子是亞瑪利亞，三子是雅哈悉，四子是耶加面。
20 The sons of Uzziel: Micah the chief, and Isshiah the second.
烏薛的長子是米迦，次子是耶西雅。
21 The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli: Eleazar and Kish.
米拉利的兒子是抹利、母示。抹利的兒子是以利亞撒、基士。
22 And Eleazar died, and had no sons, but daughters only. And their brothers the sons of Kish took them to wife.
以利亞撒死了，沒有兒子，只有女兒，他們本族基士的兒子娶了她們為妻。
23 The sons of Mushi: Mahli, and Eder, and Jeremoth, three.
母示的兒子是末力、以得、耶利摩共三人。
24 These were the sons of Levi after their fathers' houses, even the heads of the fathers of those of them that were counted, in the number of names by their polls, who did the work for the service of the house of Jehovah, from twenty years old and upward.
以上利未子孫作族長的，照着男丁的數目，從二十歲以外，都辦耶和華殿的事務。
25 For David said, Jehovah, the God of Israel, has given rest to his people, and he dwells in Jerusalem forever.
大衛說：「耶和華－以色列的上帝已經使他的百姓平安，他永遠住在耶路撒冷。
26 And also the Levites shall no more have need to carry the tabernacle and all the vessels of it for the service of it.
利未人不必再抬帳幕和其中所用的一切器皿了。」
27 For by the last words of David the sons of Levi were numbered, from twenty years old and upward.
照着大衛臨終所吩咐的，利未人從二十歲以外的都被數點。
28 For their office was to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of Jehovah, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy things, even the work of the service of the house of God, also
他們的職任是服事亞倫的子孫，在耶和華的殿和院子，並屋中辦事，潔淨一切聖物，就是辦上帝殿的事務，
29 for the showbread, and for the fine flour for a meal offering, whether of unleavened wafers, or of that which is baked in the pan, or of that which is soaked, and for all manner of measure and size.
並管理陳設餅，素祭的細麵，或無酵薄餅，或用盤烤，或用油調和的物，又管理各樣的升斗尺度；
30 And to stand every morning to thank and praise Jehovah, and likewise at evening.
每日早晚，站立稱謝讚美耶和華，
31 And to offer all burnt offerings to Jehovah, on the sabbaths, on the new moons, and on the set feasts, in number according to the ordinance concerning them, continually before Jehovah.
又在安息日、月朔，並節期，按數照例，將燔祭常常獻給耶和華；
32 And that they should keep the charge of the tent of meeting, and the charge of the holy place, and the charge of the sons of Aaron their brothers, for the service of the house of Jehovah.
又看守會幕和聖所，並守耶和華吩咐他們弟兄亞倫子孫的，辦耶和華殿的事。
