Psalmen 75

1 Voor den opperzangmeester, Altascheth; een psalm, een lied, voor Asaf. Wij loven U, o God; wij loven, dat Uw Naam nabij is; men vertelt Uw wonderen.

`To the ouercomere; leese thou not the salm of the song of Asaph. God, we schulen knouleche to thee, `we schulen knouleche; and we schulen inwardli clepe thi name.

2 Als ik het bestemde ambt zal ontvangen hebben, zo zal ik gans recht richten.

We schulen telle thi merueilis; whanne Y schal take tyme, Y schal deme riytfulnesses.

3 Het land en al zijn inwoners waren versmolten; maar ik heb zijn pilaren vastgemaakt. (Sela)

The erthe is meltid, and alle that duellen ther ynne; Y confermede the pileris therof.

4 Ik heb gezegd tot de onzinnigen: Weest niet onzinnig; en tot de goddelozen: Verhoogt den hoorn niet.

I seide to wickid men, Nyle ye do wickidli; and to trespassouris, Nyle ye enhaunce the horn.

5 Verhoogt uw hoorn niet omhoog; spreekt niet met stijven hals.

Nyle ye reise an hiy youre horn; nyle ye speke wickidnesse ayens God.

6 Want het verhogen komt niet uit het oosten, noch uit het westen, noch uit de woestijn;

For nether fro the eest, nethir fro the west, nethir fro desert hillis; for God is the iuge.

7 Maar God is Rechter; Hij vernedert dezen, en verhoogt genen.

He mekith this man, and enhaunsith hym; for a cuppe of cleene wyn ful of meddling is in the hoond of the Lord.

8 Want in des HEEREN hand is een beker, en de wijn is beroerd, vol van mengeling, en Hij schenkt daaruit; doch alle goddelozen der aarde zullen zijn droesemen uitzuigende drinken.

And he bowide of this in to that; netheles the drast therof is not anyntischid; alle synneris of erthe schulen drinke therof.

9 En ik zal het in eeuwigheid verkondigen; ik zal den God Jakobs psalmzingen.

Forsothe Y schal telle in to the world; Y schal synge to God of Jacob.

10 En ik zal alle hoornen der goddelozen afhouwen; de hoornen des rechtvaardigen zullen verhoogd worden.

And Y schal breke alle the hornes of synneris; and the hornes of the iust man schulen be enhaunsid.
