Psalmen 46
1 Een lied op Alamoth, voor den opperzangmeester, onder de kinderen van Korach. God is ons een Toevlucht en Sterkte; Hij is krachtelijk bevonden een Hulp in benauwdheden.
For the Chief Musician. [A Psalm] of the sons of Korah; set to Alamoth. A Song. God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.
2 Daarom zullen wij niet vrezen, al veranderde de aarde haar plaats, en al werden de bergen verzet in het hart der zeeen;
Therefore will we not fear, though the earth do change, And though the mountains be shaken into the heart of the seas;
3 Laat haar wateren bruisen, laat ze beroerd worden; laat de bergen daveren, door derzelver verheffing! (Sela)
Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, Though the mountains tremble with the swelling thereof. (Selah)
4 De beekjes der rivier zullen verblijden de stad Gods, het heiligdom der woningen des Allerhoogsten.
There is a river, the streams whereof make glad the city of God, The holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High.
5 God is in het midden van haar, zij zal niet wankelen; God zal haar helpen in het aanbreken van den morgenstond.
God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God will help her, and that right early.
6 De heidenen raasden, de koninkrijken bewogen zich; Hij verhief Zijn stem, de aarde versmolt.
The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved: He uttered his voice, the earth melted.
7 De HEERE der heirscharen is met ons; de God van Jakob is ons een Hoog Vertrek. (Sela)
Jehovah of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge. (Selah)
8 Komt, aanschouwt de daden des HEEREN, Die verwoestingen op aarde aanricht.
Come, behold the works of Jehovah, What desolations he hath made in the earth.
9 Die de oorlogen doet ophouden tot aan het einde der aarde, de boog verbreekt, en de spies aan twee slaat, de wagenen met vuur verbrandt.
He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; He breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; He burneth the chariots in the fire.
10 Laat af, en weet, dat Ik God ben; Ik zal verhoogd worden onder de heidenen, Ik zal verhoogd worden op de aarde.
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.
