Psalmen 24

1 Een psalm van David. De aarde is des HEEREN, mitsgaders haar volheid, de wereld, en die daarin wonen.

[A Psalm by David.] The earth is the LORD's, and its fullness; the world, and those who dwell in it.

2 Want Hij heeft ze gegrond op de zeeen, en heeft ze gevestigd op de rivieren.

For he has founded it on the seas, and established it on the floods.

3 Wie zal klimmen op den berg des HEEREN, en wie zal staan in de plaats Zijner heiligheid?

Who may ascend to the LORD's hill? Who may stand in his holy place?

4 Die rein van handen, en zuiver van hart is, die zijn ziel niet opheft tot ijdelheid, en die niet bedriegelijk zweert;

He who has clean hands and a pure heart; who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood, and has not sworn deceitfully.

5 Die zal den zegen ontvangen van den HEERE, en gerechtigheid van den God zijns heils.

He shall receive a blessing from the LORD, righteousness from the God of his salvation.

6 Dat is het geslacht dergenen, die naar Hem vragen, die Uw aangezicht zoeken, dat is Jakob! (Sela)

This is the generation of those who seek Him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob. (Selah)

7 Heft uw hoofden op, gij poorten, en verheft u, gij eeuwige deuren, opdat de Koning der ere inga!

Lift up your heads, you gates. Be lifted up, you everlasting doors, and the King of glory will come in.

8 Wie is de Koning der ere? De HEERE, sterk en geweldig, de HEERE, geweldig in den strijd.

Who is the King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, The LORD mighty in battle.

9 Heft uw hoofden op, gij poorten, ja, heft op, gij eeuwige deuren! opdat de Koning der ere inga!

Lift up your heads, you gates; lift them up, you everlasting doors, and the King of glory will come in.

10 Wie is Hij, deze Koning der ere? De HEERE der heirscharen, Die is de Koning der ere. (Sela)

Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts is the King of glory. (Selah)
