Job 14
1 De mens, van een vrouw geboren, is kort van dagen, en zat van onrust.
A human being born of a woman [is] short of days and surfeited of turmoil.
2 Hij komt voort als een bloem, en wordt afgesneden; ook vlucht hij als een schaduw, en bestaat niet.
Like a flower he comes forth and he withered and he fled like shadow and not he remains.
3 Nog doet Gij Uw ogen over zulk een open; en Gij betrekt mij in het gericht met U.
Indeed? on this do you open eyes your and me do you bring? in judgment with yourself.
4 Wie zal een reine geven uit den onreine? Niet een.
Who? will he make a clean [thing] from an unclean [thing] not one [person].
5 Dewijl zijn dagen bestemd zijn, het getal zijner maanden bij U is, en Gij zijn bepalingen gemaakt hebt, die hij niet overgaan zal;
If [are] determined - days his [the] number of months his [is] with you (limits his *Q(K)*) you have appointed and not he will pass.
6 Wend U van hem af, dat hij rust hebbe, totdat hij als een dagloner aan zijn dag een welgevallen hebbe.
Look away from on him so he may cease until he takes pleasure in like a hired laborer day his.
7 Want voor een boom, als hij afgehouwen wordt, is er verwachting, dat hij zich nog zal veranderen, en zijn scheut niet zal ophouden.
For there for a tree [is] hope if it will be cut down and again it will sprout afresh and young shoot[s] its not it will fail.
8 Indien zijn wortel in de aarde veroudert, en zijn stam in het stof versterft;
Though it will grow old in the ground root its and in the dust it will die stump its.
9 Hij zal van den reuk der wateren weder uitspruiten, en zal een tak maken, gelijk een plant.
From [the] scent of water it will show buds and it will produce shoot[s] like a plant.
10 Maar een man sterft, als hij verzwakt is, en de mens geeft den geest, waar is hij dan?
And a man he dies and he was weak and he expired a person and where [is]? he.
11 De wateren verlopen uit een meer, en een rivier droogt uit en verdort;
They disappear waters from [the] sea and a river it dries up and it is dry.
12 Alzo ligt de mens neder, en staat niet op; totdat de hemelen niet meer zijn, zullen zij niet opwaken, noch uit hun slaap opgewekt worden.
And a person he lies down and not he will arise until [is] not heaven not they will awake and not they will be roused from sleep their.
13 Och, of Gij mij in het graf verstaakt, mij verborgt, totdat Uw toorn zich afkeerde; dat Gij mij een bepaling steldet, en mijner gedachtig waart! (Sheol h7585)
Who? will he give - in Sheol you will hide me you will conceal me until turns back anger your you will set for me a limit and you will remember me. (Sheol h7585)
14 Als een man gestorven is, zal hij weder leven? Ik zou al de dagen mijns strijds hopen, totdat mijn verandering komen zou.
If he will die a man ¿ will he live all [the] days of service my I will wait until comes relief my.
15 Dat Gij zoudt roepen, en ik U zou antwoorden, dat Gij tot het werk Uwer handen zoudt begerig zijn.
You will call and I I will answer you for [the] work of hands your you will long.
16 Maar nu telt Gij mijn treden; Gij bewaart mij niet om mijner zonden wil.
For now steps my you will count not you will watch over sin my.
17 Mijn overtreding is in een bundeltje verzegeld, en Gij pakt mijn ongerechtigheid opeen.
[will be] sealed up In a bag transgression my and you have smeared over iniquity my.
18 En voorwaar, een berg vallende vergaat, en een rots wordt versteld uit haar plaats;
And but a mountain [is] falling it crumbles away and a rock it moves from place its.
19 De wateren vermalen de stenen, het stof der aarde overstelpt het gewas, dat van zelf daaruit voortkomt; alzo verderft Gij de verwachting des mensen.
Stones - they rub away waters it washes off overflowings its [the] dust of [the] earth and [the] hope of humankind you destroy.
20 Gij overweldigt hem in eeuwigheid, en hij gaat heen; veranderende zijn gelaat, zo zendt Gij hem weg.
You overpower him to perpetuity and he went [you are] changing face his and you sent away him.
21 Zijn kinderen komen tot eer, en hij weet het niet; of zij worden klein, en hij let niet op hen.
They are honored sons his and not he knows and they may be insignificant and not he perceives it.
22 Maar zijn vlees, nog aan hem zijnde, heeft smart; en zijn ziel, in hem zijnde, heeft rouw.
Only own flesh his on himself it is in pain and self his on himself it mourns.
