Psalmen 45
1 Een onderwijzing, een lied der liefde, voor den opperzangmeester, onder de kinderen van Korach, op Schoschannim. Mijn hart geeft een goede rede op; ik zegge mijn gedichten uit van een Koning; mijn tong is een pen eens vaardigen schrijvers.
To the Chief Musician. On Shoshannim. For the Sons of Korah. A Psalm of Instruction. A Song of Love. Overflowed hath my heart, with an excellent theme, I will recite my poem concerning the king, Be, my tongue, [like] the pen of a scribe who is skilled.
2 Gij zijt veel schoner dan de mensenkinderen; genade is uitgestort in Uw lippen; daarom heeft U God gezegend in eeuwigheid.
Most beautiful thou art, beyond the sons of men, Graciousness hath been poured forth by thy lips, For this cause, hath God blessed thee, to times age-abiding.
3 Gord Uw zwaard aan de heup, o Held! Uw Majesteit en Uw heerlijkheid.
Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O mighty one, [’Tis] thine honour and thy majesty;
4 En rijd voorspoediglijk in Uw heerlijkheid, op het woord der waarheid en rechtvaardige zachtmoedigheid; en Uw rechterhand zal U vreselijke dingen leren.
And, [in] thy majesty, be successful! ride forth! on behalf of faithfulness, and humility—righteousness, And let thine own right hand show thee wonderful things.
5 Uw pijlen zijn scherp; volken zullen onder U vallen; zij treffen in het hart van des Konings vijanden.
Thine arrows, are sharp—Peoples, under thee, fall! In the heart of the foes of the king.
6 Uw troon, o God! is eeuwiglijk en altoos; de scepter Uws Koninkrijks is een scepter der rechtmatigheid.
Thy throne, O God, is to times age-abiding and beyond, A sceptre of equity, is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
7 Gij hebt gerechtigheid lief, en haat goddeloosheid; daarom heeft U, o God! Uw God gezalfd met vreugdeolie, boven Uw medegenoten.
Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated lawlessness, —For this cause, hath God, thine own God, anointed thee, With the oil of gladness, beyond thy partners.
8 Al Uw klederen zijn mirre, en aloe, en kassie; uit de elpenbenen paleizen, van waar zij U verblijden.
Myrrh and aloes, cassias, all thy garments, —Out of the palaces of ivory, the tones of strings, have rejoiced thee.
9 Dochters van koningen zijn onder Uw kostelijke staatsdochteren; de Koningin staat aan Uw rechterhand, in het fijnste goud van Ofir.
Daughters of kings, are among thine honourable women, Stationed is the bride at thy right hand, in gold of Ophir.
10 Hoor, o Dochter! en zie, en neig uw oor; en vergeet uw volk en uws vaders huis.
Hearken, O daughter, and observe, Incline also thine ear, Forget, then, thine own people, And the house of thy father;
11 Zo zal de Koning lust hebben aan uw schoonheid; dewijl Hij uw Heere is, zo buig u voor Hem neder.
When the king shall desire thy beauty, Surely, he, is thy lord, then bow down to him.
12 En de dochter van Tyrus, de rijken onder het volk, zullen uw aangezicht met geschenk smeken.
Also, the daughter of Tyre, [cometh in] with a present! Thy face, shall the rich of the people appease.
13 Des Konings Dochter is geheel verheerlijkt inwendig; haar kleding is van gouden borduursel.
All glorious—the daughter of a king [sitteth] within, Brocades, wrought with gold, [are] her clothing!
14 In gestikte klederen zal zij tot den Koning geleid worden; de jonge dochteren, die achter haar zijn, haar medegezellinnen, zullen tot u gebracht worden.
In embroidered raiment, shall she be brought unto the king—The virgins that follow her, her companions, are to be conducted unto thee:
15 Zij zullen geleid worden met alle blijdschap en verheuging; zij zullen ingaan in des Konings paleis.
They shall be brought, with rejoicings and exultation, —They shall enter into the palace of the king!
16 In plaats van Uw vaderen zullen Uw zonen zijn; Gij zult hen tot vorsten zetten over de ganse aarde.
Instead of thy fathers, be thy sons, Thou shalt make them rulers in all the earth.
17 Ik zal Uws Naams doen gedenken van elk geslacht tot geslacht; daarom zullen U de volken loven eeuwiglijk en altoos.
I will keep in remembrance thy Name, through each succeeding generation, For this cause, peoples, shall praise thee, to times age-abiding and beyond.
