Psalmen 113

1 Hallelujah! Looft, gij knechten des HEEREN! looft den Naam des HEEREN.

Praise Yahweh! You people who serve Yahweh, praise him! Praise (him/his name)!

2 De Naam des HEEREN zij geprezen, van nu aan tot in der eeuwigheid.

Yahweh should be praised now and forever!

3 Van den opgang der zon af tot haar nedergang, zij de Naam des HEEREN geloofd.

People who live in the east and people who live in the west, everyone, should praise Yahweh [MTY]!

4 De HEERE is hoog boven alle heidenen, boven de hemelen is Zijn heerlijkheid.

Yahweh rules [MTY] over all the nations, and high in the heavens he shows that his glory is very great.

5 Wie is gelijk de HEERE, onze God? Die zeer hoog woont.

There is no one [RHQ] who is like Yahweh, our God, who lives/sits/rules in the highest heaven,

6 Die zeer laag ziet, in den hemel en op de aarde.

and looks far down through the heavens and sees the [people on] the earth.

7 Die den geringe uit het stof opricht, en den nooddruftige uit den drek verhoogt;

[Sometimes] he lifts poor people up [so that they no longer sit in] the dirt; he helps needy [people so that they no longer sit on] heaps of ashes

8 Om te doen zitten bij de prinsen, bij de prinsen Zijns volks.

and causes them to [be honored] by sitting next to princes, the sons of the kings [who rule] their people.

9 Die de onvruchtbare doet wonen met een huisgezin, een blijde moeder van kinderen. Hallelujah!

He also enables women who have no children to have a family; he causes them to be happy mothers. Praise Yahweh!
