Deuteronomium 3
1 Daarna keerden wij ons en togen op, den weg van Bazan; en Og, de koning van Bazan, trok uit ons tegemoet, hij en al zijn volk, ten strijde bij Edrei.
And we turned and we went up [the] way of Bashan and he came forth Og [the] king of Bashan to meet us he and all people his for battle Edrei.
2 Toen zeide de HEERE tot mij: Vrees hem niet, want Ik heb hem, en al zijn volk, en zijn land, in uw hand gegeven; en gij zult hem doen, gelijk als gij Sihon, den koning der Amorieten, die te Hesbon woonde, gedaan hebt.
And he said Yahweh to me may not you fear him for in hand your I give him and all people his and land his and you will do to him just as you did to Sihon [the] king of the Amorite[s] who [was] dwelling in Heshbon.
3 En de HEERE, onze God, gaf ook Og, den koning van Bazan, en al zijn volk, in onze hand, zodat wij hem sloegen, totdat wij hem niemand lieten overblijven.
And he gave Yahweh God our in hand our also Og [the] king of Bashan and all people his and we struck down him until not he had left to him a survivor.
4 En wij namen te dier tijd al zijn steden; er was geen stad, die wij van hen niet namen: zestig steden, de ganse landstreek van Argob, het koninkrijk van Og in Bazan.
And we captured all cities his at the time that not it was a town which not we took from with them sixty citi[es] all [the] region of Argob [the] kingdom of Og in Bashan.
5 Al die steden waren met hoge muren, poorten en grendelen gesterkt, behalve zeer vele onbemuurde steden.
All these [were] cities fortified wall high gates and bar[s] apart from [the] cities of the hamlet-dweller[s] many very.
6 En wij verbanden dezelve, gelijk wij Sihon, den koning van Hesbon, gedaan hadden, verbannende alle steden, mannen, vrouwen en kinderkens.
And we totally destroyed them just as we had done to Sihon [the] king of Heshbon we totally destroyed every city of men the women and the little one[s].
7 Doch al het vee en den roof van die steden roofden wij voor ons.
And all the livestock and [the] booty of the cities we plundered for ourselves.
8 Zo namen wij te dier tijd het land uit de hand van de twee koningen der Amorieten, die aan deze zijde van de Jordaan waren, van de beek Arnon tot den berg Hermon toe;
And we took at the time that the land from [the] hand of [the] two [the] kings of the Amorite[s] who [were] on [the] other side of the Jordan from [the] wadi of Arnon to [the] mountain of Hermon.
9 (De Zidoniers noemen Hermon Sirjon; maar de Amorieten noemen hem Senir.)
[the] Sidonians They call Hermon Sirion and the Amorite[s] they call it Senir.
10 Al de steden des platten lands, en het ganse Gilead, en het ganse Bazan, tot Salcha en Edrei toe; steden des koninkrijks van Og in Bazan.
All - [the] cities of the plain and all Gilead and all Bashan to Salecah and Edrei [the] cities of [the] kingdom of Og in Bashan.
11 Want Og, de koning van Bazan, was alleen van de overigen der reuzen overgebleven; ziet, zijn bedstede, zijnde een bedstede van ijzer, is zij niet te Rabba der kinderen Ammons? Negen ellen is haar lengte, en vier ellen haar breedte, naar eens mans elleboog.
For only Og [the] king of Bashan he survived from [the] remnant of the Rephaites there! sarcophagus his [was] a sarcophagus of iron ¿ not [is] it in Rabbah of [the] people of Ammon [was] nine cubits length its and [was] four cubits breadth its by a cubit of a human.
12 Ditzelfde land nu namen wij te dier tijd in bezit; van Aroer af, dat aan de beek Arnon is, en de helft van het gebergte van Gilead, met de steden van hetzelve, gaf ik aan de Rubenieten en Gadieten.
And the land this we took possession of at the time that from Aroer which [was] at [the] wadi of Arnon and [the] half of [the] hill country of Gilead and cities its I gave to the Reubenite[s] and to the Gadite[s].
13 En het overige van Gilead, mitsgaders het ganse Bazan, het koninkrijk van Og, gaf ik aan den halven stam van Manasse, de ganse landstreek van Argob, door het ganse Bazan; datzelve werd genoemd het land der reuzen.
And [the] remainder of Gilead and all Bashan [the] kingdom of Og I gave to [the] half of [the] tribe of Manasseh all [the] region of Argob to all Bashan it it was called [the] land of [the] Rephaites.
14 Jair, de zoon van Manasse, kreeg de ganse landstreek van Argob, tot aan de landpale der Gezurieten en Maachathieten; en hij noemde ze naar zijn naam, Bazan Havvoth-Jair, tot op dezen dag.
Jair [the] son of Manasseh he took all [the] region of Argob to [the] border of the Geshurite[s] and the Maacathite[s] and he called them on own name his Bashan [the] villages of Jair until the day this.
15 En aan Machir gaf ik Gilead.
And to Makir I gave Gilead.
16 Maar aan de Rubenieten en Gadieten gaf ik van Gilead af tot aan de beek Arnon, het midden van de beek en de landpale; en tot aan de beek Jabbok, de landpale der kinderen Ammons;
And to the Reubenite[s] and to the Gadite[s] I gave from Gilead and to [the] wadi of Arnon [the] middle of the wadi and a border and to Jabbok the wadi [is] [the] border of [the] people of Ammon.
17 Daartoe het vlakke veld, en de Jordaan, mitsgaders de landpale; van Cinnereth af tot aan de zee des vlakken velds, de Zoutzee, onder Asdoth-Pisga tegen het oosten.
And the Arabah and the Jordan and a border from Kinnereth and to [the] sea of the Arabah [the] Sea of Salt under [the] slopes of Pisgah east-ward.
18 Voorts gebood ik ulieden ter zelfder tijd, zeggende: De HEERE, uw God, heeft u dit land gegeven om het te erven; allen dan, die strijdbare mannen zijt, trekt gewapend door voor het aangezicht van uw broederen, de kinderen Israels.
And I commanded you at the time that saying Yahweh God your he has given to you the land this to take possession of it equipped you will pass over before countrymen your [the] people of Israel O all [the] sons of strength.
19 Behalve uw vrouwen, en uw kinderkens, en uw vee (ik weet, dat gij veel vee hebt), zij zullen blijven in uw steden, die ik u gegeven heb;
Only wives your and little one[s] your and livestock your I know that livestock much [belongs] to you they will remain in cities your which I have given to you.
20 Totdat de HEERE uw broederen rust geve, gelijk ulieden, dat zij ook erven het land, dat de HEERE, uw God, hun geven zal aan gene zijde van de Jordaan; dan zult gij wederkeren, elk tot zijn erfenis, die ik u gegeven heb.
Until that he will give rest Yahweh - to countrymen your like you and they will take possession of also they the land which Yahweh God your [is] about to give to them on [the] other side of the Jordan and you will return everyone to possession his which I have given to you.
21 Ook gebood ik Jozua ter zelfder tijd, zeggende: Uw ogen zien alles, wat de HEERE, ulieder God, aan deze twee koningen gedaan heeft; alzo zal de HEERE aan alle koninkrijken doen, naar welke gij henen doortrekt.
And Joshua I commanded at the time that saying eyes your [are] the [ones which] have seen all that he did Yahweh God your to [the] two the kings these thus he will do Yahweh to all the kingdoms where you [are] about to pass over there.
22 Vreest ze niet; want de HEERE, uw God, strijdt voor ulieden.
Not you must fear them for Yahweh God your he [is] the [one who] will fight for you.
23 Ook bad ik den HEERE om genade, zeggende ter zelfder tijd:
And I sought favor to Yahweh at the time that saying.
24 Heere HEERE! Gij hebt begonnen Uw knecht te tonen Uw grootheid en Uw sterke hand; want wat God is er in den hemel en op de aarde, die doen kan naar Uw werken, en naar Uw mogendheden!
O Lord Yahweh you you have begun to show servant your greatness your and hand your strong that who? [is] God in the heavens and on the earth who he will do like works your and like mighty deeds your.
25 Laat mij toch overtrekken, en dat goede land bezien, dat aan gene zijde van de Jordaan is, dat goede gebergte, en den Libanon!
Let me pass over please so I may see the land good which [is] on [the] other side of the Jordan the hill country good this and Lebanon.
26 Doch de HEERE verstoorde zich zeer om uwentwille over mij, en hoorde niet naar mij; maar de HEERE zeide tot mij: Het zij u genoeg; spreek niet meer tot Mij van deze zaak.
And he was furious Yahweh with me on account of you and not he listened to me and he said Yahweh to me enough for you may not you repeat to speak to me again in the matter this.
27 Klim op de hoogte van Pisga, en hef uw ogen op naar het westen, en naar het noorden, en naar het zuiden, en naar het oosten, en zie toe met uw ogen; want gij zult over deze Jordaan niet gaan.
Go up - [the] top of Pisgah and lift up eyes your west-ward and north-ward and south-ward and east-ward and see with own eyes your that not you will pass over the Jordan this.
28 Gebied dan Jozua, en versterk hem, en bekrachtig hem; want hij zal voor het aangezicht van dit volk henen overgaan, en zal hun dat land, dat gij zien zult, doen erven.
And commission Joshua and encourage him and strengthen him for he he will pass over before the people this and he he will give as an inheritance them the land which you will see.
29 Alzo bleven wij in dit dal tegenover Beth-Peor.
And we remained in the valley opposite to Beth Peor.
