2 Samuël 18
1 En David monsterde het volk, dat met hem was; en hij stelde over hen oversten van duizenden, en oversten van honderden.
and to reckon: list David [obj] [the] people: soldiers which with him and to set: appoint upon them ruler thousand and ruler hundred
2 Voorts zond David het volk uit, een derde deel onder de hand van Joab, en een derde deel onder de hand van Abisai, den zoon van Zeruja, Joabs broeder, en een derde deel onder de hand van Ithai, den Gethiet. En de koning zeide tot het volk: Ik zal ook zelf zekerlijk met ulieden uittrekken.
and to send: depart David [obj] [the] people: soldiers [the] third in/on/with hand: power Joab and [the] third in/on/with hand: power Abishai son: child Zeruiah brother: male-sibling Joab and [the] third in/on/with hand: power Ittai [the] Gittite and to say [the] king to(wards) [the] people: soldiers to come out: come to come out: come also I with you
3 Maar het volk zeide: Gij zult niet uittrekken; want of wij te enen male vloden, zij zullen het hart op ons niet stellen; ja, of de helft van ons stierf, zij zullen het hart op ons niet stellen; maar gij zijt nu als tien duizend onzer. Zo zal het nu beter zijn, dat gij ons uit de stad ter hulpe zijt.
and to say [the] people: soldiers not to come out: come for if to flee to flee not to set: consider to(wards) us heart and if to die half our not to set: consider to(wards) us heart for now like us ten thousand and now pleasant for to be to/for us from city (to/for to help *Q(K)*)
4 Toen zeide de koning tot hen: Ik zal doen, wat goed is in uw ogen. De koning nu stond aan de zijde van de poort, en al het volk trok uit bij honderden en bij duizenden.
and to say to(wards) them [the] king which be good in/on/with eye: appearance your to make: do and to stand: stand [the] king to(wards) hand: to [the] gate and all [the] people: soldiers to come out: come to/for hundred and to/for thousand
5 En de koning gebood Joab, en Abisai, en Ithai, zeggende: Handelt mij zachtkens met den jongeling, met Absalom. En al het volk hoorde het, als de koning aan al de oversten van Absaloms zaak gebood.
and to command [the] king [obj] Joab and [obj] Abishai and [obj] Ittai to/for to say to/for softly to/for me to/for youth to/for Absalom and all [the] people to hear: hear in/on/with to command [the] king [obj] all [the] ruler upon word: thing Absalom
6 Alzo toog het volk uit in het veld, Israel tegemoet, en de strijd geschiedde bij Efraims woud.
and to come out: come [the] people: soldiers [the] land: country to/for to encounter: toward Israel and to be [the] battle in/on/with (Ephraim) Forest (Forest of) Ephraim
7 En het volk van Israel werd aldaar voor het aangezicht van Davids knechten geslagen; en aldaar geschiedde te dienzelven dage een grote slag, van twintig duizend.
and to strike there people: soldiers Israel to/for face: before servant/slave David and to be there [the] plague great: large in/on/with day [the] he/she/it twenty thousand
8 Want de strijd werd aldaar verspreid over al dat land. En het woud verteerde meer van het volk, dan die het zwaard verteerde, te dienzelven dage.
and to be there [the] battle (to scatter *Q(K)*) upon face: surface all [the] land: country/planet and to multiply [the] wood to/for to eat in/on/with people from whence to eat [the] sword in/on/with day [the] he/she/it
9 Absalom nu ontmoette voor het aangezicht der knechten Davids; en Absalom reed op een muildier; en als het muildier kwam onder de dichte takken van een groten eik, zo werd zijn hoofd vast aan den eik, dat hij hangen bleef tussen den hemel en tussen de aarde, en het muildier, dat onder hem was, ging door.
and to encounter: meet Absalom to/for face: before servant/slave David and Absalom to ride upon [the] mule and to come (in): come [the] mule underneath: under thicket [the] oak [the] great: large and to strengthen: hold head his in/on/with oak and to give: put between [the] heaven and between [the] land: country/planet and [the] mule which underneath: under him to pass
10 Als dat een man zag, zo gaf hij het Joab te kennen, en zeide: Zie, ik heb Absalom zien hangen aan een eik.
and to see: see man one and to tell to/for Joab and to say behold to see: see [obj] Absalom to hang in/on/with oak
11 Toen zeide Joab tot den man, die het hem te kennen gaf: Zie toch, gij hebt het gezien, waarom dan hebt gij hem niet aldaar ter aarde geslagen, alzo het aan mij stond om u tien zilverlingen en een gordel te geven?
and to say Joab to/for man [the] to tell to/for him and behold to see: see and why? not to smite him there land: soil [to] and upon me to/for to give: give to/for you ten silver: money and belt one
12 Maar die man zeide tot Joab: En of ik al duizend zilverlingen op mijn handen mocht wegen, zo zou ik mijn hand aan des konings zoon niet slaan; want de koning heeft u, en Abisai, en Ithai, voor onze oren geboden, zeggende: Hoedt u, wie gij zijt, van den jongeling, van Absalom.
and to say [the] man to(wards) Joab (and if *Q(k)*) I to weigh upon palm my thousand silver: money not to send: reach hand my to(wards) son: child [the] king for in/on/with ear: hearing our to command [the] king [obj] you and [obj] Abishai and [obj] Ittai to/for to say to keep: guard who? in/on/with youth in/on/with Absalom
13 Of ik al valselijk tegen mijn ziel handelde, zo zou toch geen ding voor den koning verborgen worden; ook gij zelf zoudt er u van tegenover stellen.
or to make: do (in/on/with soul: life my *Q(K)*) deception and all word: thing not to hide from [the] king and you(m. s.) to stand from before
14 Toen zeide Joab: Ik zal hier bij u alzo niet vertoeven; en hij nam drie pijlen, en stak ze in Absaloms hart, daar hij nog levend was in het midden van den eik.
and to say Joab not so to wait: wait to/for face of your and to take: take three tribe: javelin in/on/with palm his and to blow them in/on/with heart Absalom still he alive in/on/with heart [the] oak
15 En tien jongens, wapendragers van Joab, omringden hem, en zij sloegen Absalom, en doodden hem.
and to turn: surround ten youth to lift: bearing(armour) article/utensil Joab and to smite [obj] Absalom and to die him
16 Toen blies Joab met de bazuin, en al het volk keerde af van Israel achterna te jagen, want Joab hield het volk terug.
and to blow Joab in/on/with trumpet and to return: return [the] people: soldiers from to pursue after Israel for to withhold Joab [obj] [the] people: soldiers
17 En zij namen Absalom, en wierpen hem in het woud, in een groten kuil, en stelden op hem een zeer groten steenhoop; en gans Israel vluchtte, een iegelijk naar zijn tent.
and to take: take [obj] Absalom and to throw [obj] him in/on/with wood to(wards) [the] pit [the] great: large and to stand upon him heap stone great: large much and all Israel to flee man: anyone (to/for tent: home his *Q(K)*)
18 Absalom nu had genomen, en in zijn leven voor zich opgericht een pilaar, die in het koningsdal is; want hij zeide: Ik heb geen zoon, om aan mijn naam te doen gedenken; en hij had dien pilaar genoemd naar zijn naam; daarom wordt hij tot op dezen dag genoemd: Absaloms hand.
and Absalom to take: take and to stand to/for him (in/on/with life his *Q(K)*) [obj] pillar which in/on/with Valley (of Kings) [the] King's for to say nothing to/for me son: child in/on/with for the sake of to remember name my and to call: call by to/for pillar upon name his and to call: call by to/for her hand: themselves Absalom till [the] day: today [the] this
19 Toen zeide Ahimaaz, Zadoks zoon: Laat mij toch heenlopen, en den koning boodschappen, dat de HEERE hem recht gedaan heeft van de hand zijner vijanden.
and Ahimaaz son: child Zadok to say to run: run please and to bear tidings [obj] [the] king for to judge him LORD from hand: power enemy his
20 Maar Joab zeide tot hem: Gij zult dezen dag geen boodschapper zijn, maar op een anderen dag zult gij boodschappen; dezen dag nu zult gij niet boodschappen, daarom dat des konings zoon dood is.
and to say to/for him Joab not man good news you(m. s.) [the] day [the] this and to bear tidings in/on/with day another and [the] day [the] this not to bear tidings for as that: since (as as *Q(K)*) son: child [the] king to die
21 En Joab zeide tot Cuschi: Ga heen, en zeg den koning aan, wat gij gezien hebt; en Cuschi boog zich voor Joab, en liep heen.
and to say Joab to/for Ethiopian to go: went to tell to/for king which to see: see and to bow Ethiopian to/for Joab and to run: run
22 Doch Ahimaaz, Zadoks zoon, voer nog voort en zeide tot Joab: Wat het ook zij, laat mij toch ook Cuschi achterna lopen. En Joab zeide: Waarom zoudt gij nu heenlopen, mijn zoon! Zo gij toch geen bekwame boodschap hebt?
and to add: again still Ahimaaz son: child Zadok and to say to(wards) Joab and to be what? to run: run please also I after [the] Ethiopian and to say Joab to/for what? this you(m. s.) to run: run son: child my and to/for you nothing good news to find
23 Wat het ook zij, zeide hij, laat mij heenlopen; zo zeide hij tot hem: Loop heen. En Ahimaaz liep den weg van het effen veld, en kwam Cuschi voorbij.
and to be what? to run: run and to say to/for him to run: run and to run: run Ahimaaz way: road [the] talent and to pass [obj] [the] Ethiopian
24 David nu zat tussen de twee poorten; en de wachter ging op het dak der poort aan den muur, en hief zijn ogen op, en zag, en ziet, er liep een man alleen.
and David to dwell between two [the] gate and to go: walk [the] to watch to(wards) roof [the] gate to(wards) [the] wall and to lift: look [obj] eye his and to see: see and behold man to run: run to/for alone him
25 Zo riep de wachter, en zeide het den koning aan; en de koning zeide: Indien hij alleen is, zo is er een boodschap in zijn mond; en hij ging al voort en naderde.
and to call: call out [the] to watch and to tell to/for king and to say [the] king if to/for alone him good news in/on/with lip his and to go: come to go: come and approaching
26 Toen zag de wachter een anderen man lopende, en de wachter riep tot den poortier en zeide: Zie, er loopt nog een man alleen. Toen zeide de koning: Die is ook een boodschapper.
and to see: see [the] to watch man another to run: run and to call: call to [the] to watch to(wards) [the] gatekeeper and to say behold man to run: run to/for alone him and to say [the] king also this to bear tidings
27 Voorts zeide de wachter: Ik zie den loop des eersten aan, als den loop van Ahimaaz, Zadoks zoon. Toen zeide de koning: Dat is een goed man, en hij zal met een goede boodschap komen.
and to say [the] to watch I to see: examine [obj] running [the] first like/as running Ahimaaz son: child Zadok and to say [the] king man pleasant this and to(wards) good news pleasant to come (in): come
28 Ahimaaz dan riep en zeide tot den koning Vrede! En hij boog zich voor den koning met het aangezicht ter aarde, en hij zeide: Geloofd zij de HEERE, uw God, Die de mannen, dewelke hun hand tegen mijn heer den koning ophieven, heeft overgegeven.
and to call: call out Ahimaaz and to say to(wards) [the] king peace: well-being and to bow to/for king to/for face his land: soil [to] and to say to bless LORD God your which to shut [obj] [the] human which to lift: kindness [obj] hand their in/on/with lord my [the] king
29 Toen zeide de koning: Is het wel met den jongeling, met Absalom? En Ahimaaz zeide: Ik zag een groot rumoer, als Joab, den knecht des konings, en mij uw knecht afzond, maar ik weet niet wat.
and to say [the] king peace: well-being to/for youth to/for Absalom and to say Ahimaaz to see: see [the] crowd [the] great: large to/for to send: depart [obj] servant/slave [the] king Joab and [obj] servant/slave your and not to know what?
30 En de koning zeide: Ga om, stel u hier; zo ging hij om, en bleef staan.
and to say [the] king to turn: turn to stand thus and to turn: turn and to stand: stand
31 En ziet, Cuschi kwam aan; en Cuschi zeide: Mijn heer den koning wordt geboodschapt, dat u de HEERE heden heeft recht gedaan van de hand van al degenen, die tegen u opstonden.
and behold [the] Ethiopian to come (in): come and to say [the] Ethiopian to bear tidings lord my [the] king for to judge you LORD [the] day from hand: power all [the] to arise: attack upon you
32 Toen zeide de koning tot Cuschi: Is het wel met den jongeling, met Absalom? En Cuschi zeide: De vijanden van mijn heer den koning, en allen, die tegen u ten kwade opstaan, moeten worden als die jongeling.
and to say [the] king to(wards) [the] Ethiopian peace: well-being to/for youth to/for Absalom and to say [the] Ethiopian to be like/as youth enemy lord my [the] king and all which to arise: attack upon you to/for distress: evil
33 Toen werd de koning zeer beroerd, en ging op naar de opperzaal der poort, en weende; en in zijn gaan zeide hij alzo: Mijn zoon Absalom, mijn zoon, mijn zoon Absalom! Och, dat ik, ik voor u gestorven ware, Absalom, mijn zoon, mijn zoon!
and to tremble [the] king and to ascend: rise upon upper room [the] gate and to weep and thus to say in/on/with to go: went he son: child my Absalom son: child my son: child my Absalom who? to give: if only! to die I I underneath: instead you Absalom son: child my son: child my
