1 Kronieken 15
1 En David maakte zich huizen in zijn stad; en hij bereidde der ark Gods een plaats, en spande een tent voor haar.
And [David] made himself houses in the city of David, and he prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.
2 Toen zeide David: Niemand mag de ark Gods dragen, dan de Levieten; want die heeft de HEERE verkoren, om de ark Gods te dragen, en om Hem te dienen tot in der eeuwigheid.
Then said David, None shall carry the ark of God but the Levites; for of them hath the Lord made choice to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever.
3 Ook vergaderde David gans Israel te Jeruzalem, om de ark des HEEREN op te halen aan haar plaats, die hij haar bereid had.
And David assembled all Israel to Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the Lord unto its place, which he had prepared for it.
4 En David verzamelde de kinderen van Aaron en de Levieten.
And David gathered together the children of Aaron, and the Levites.
5 Van de kinderen van Kehath was Uriel overste, en van zijn broederen waren honderd en twintig.
Of the sons of Kehath: Uriel the chief, and his brethren one hundred and twenty.
6 Van de kinderen van Merari was Asaja overste, en van zijn broederen waren tweehonderd en twintig.
Of the sons of Merari: 'Assayah the chief, and his brethren two hundred and twenty.
7 Van de kinderen van Gersom was Joel overste, en van zijn broederen waren honderd en dertig.
Of the sons of Gershom: Joel the chief, and his brethren one hundred and thirty.
8 Uit de kinderen van Elizafan was overste Semaja, en van zijn broederen waren tweehonderd.
Of the sons of Elizaphan: Shema'yah the chief, and his brethren two hundred.
9 Uit de kinderen van Hebron was Eliel overste, en zijn broederen waren tachtig.
Of the sons of Hebron: Eliel the chief, and his brethren eighty.
10 Uit de kinderen van Uzziel was Amminadab overste, en zijn broederen waren honderd en twaalf.
Of the sons of 'Uzziel: 'Amminadab the chief, and his brethren one hundred and twelve.
11 En David riep de priesters Zadok en Abjathar, en de Levieten Uriel, Asaja en Joel, Semaja, en Eliel, en Amminadab.
And David called for Zadok and Ebyathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, 'Assayah, and Joel, Shema'yah, and Eliel, and 'Amminadab,
12 En hij zeide tot hen: Gijlieden zijt hoofden der vaderen onder de Levieten; heiligt u, gij en uw broeders, dat gij de ark des HEEREN, des Gods van Israel, opbrengt, ter plaatse, die ik voor haar bereid heb.
And he said unto them, Ye are the chiefs of the family divisions of the Levites: sanctify yourselves, ye and your brethren, and bring up the ark of the Lord the God of Israel unto [the place which] I have prepared for it.
13 Want omdat gijlieden ten eerste dit niet deedt, heeft de HEERE, onze God, onder ons een scheur gedaan, omdat wij Hem niet gezocht hebben naar het recht.
For, because ye [did] it not at the first, the Lord our God made a breach among us; because we had not sought him after the prescribed manner.
14 Zo heiligden zich dan de priesters en Levieten, om de ark des HEEREN, des Gods van Israel, op te brengen.
So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the Lord the God of Israel.
15 En de kinderen der Levieten droegen de ark Gods op hun schouderen, met de draagbomen, die op hen waren, gelijk als Mozes geboden had naar het woord des HEEREN.
And the children of the Levites bore the ark of God, as Moses had commanded according to the word of the Lord, on their shoulders, by means of barrows placed upon them.
16 En David zeide tot de oversten der Levieten, dat zij hun broeders, de zangers, stellen zouden met muziekinstrumenten, met luiten, en harpen, en cimbalen, dat zij zich zouden doen horen, verheffende de stem met blijdschap.
And David said to the chiefs of the Levites to appoint their brethren the singers with instruments of music, psalteries and harps and cymbals, to sing aloud, by lifting up the voice for joy.
17 Zo stelden dan de Levieten Heman, den zoon van Joel, en uit zijn broederen Asaf, den zoon van Berechja; en uit de zonen van Merari, hun broederen, Ethan, den zoon van Kusaja;
So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel, and of his brethren, Assaph the son of Berechyahu, and of the sons of Merari their brethren, Ethan the son of Kushayahu;
18 En met hen hun broeders van de tweede orde: Zecharja, Ben en Jaaziel, en Semiramoth, en Jehiel, en Unni, Eliab, en Benaja, en Maaseja, en Mattithja, en Elifele, en Mikneja, en Obed-Edom, en Jeiel, de poortiers.
And with them their brethren of the second degree, Zecharyahu, Ben, and Ja'aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jechiel, and 'Unni, Eliab, and Benayahu, and Ma'asseyahu, and Matthithyahu, and Eliphelehu, and Mikneyahu, and 'Obed-edom, and Je'iel, the gatekeepers.
19 De zangers nu, Heman, Asaf en Ethan, lieten zich horen met koperen cimbalen;
Namely, the singers, Heman, Assaph, and Ethan, to play aloud with cymbals of copper;
20 En Zecharja, en Aziel, en Semiramoth, en Jehiel, en Unni, en Eliab, en Maaseja, en Benaja, met luiten op Alamoth.
And Zechariah, and 'Aziel, and Shemiramoth, and Jechiel, and 'Unni, and Eliab, and Ma'asseyahu, and Benayahu, with psalteries on 'Alamoth;
21 En Mattithja, en Elifele, en Mikneja, en Obed-Edom, en Jeiel, en Azazja, met harpen op de Scheminith, om den toon te versterken.
And Matthithyahu, and Eliphelehu, and Mikneyahu, and 'Obed-edom, and Je-iel, and 'Azazyahu, with harps on the Sheminith to play as leaders.
22 En Chenanja, de overste der Levieten, was over het opheffen; hij onderwees hen in het opheffen; want hij was verstandig.
And Kenanyahu was the chief of the Levites in conducting the singing: he instructed in conducting the singing, because he was skilful.
23 En Berechja en Elkana waren poortiers der ark.
And Berechyah and Elkanah were gatekeepers for the ark.
24 En Sebanja, en Josafat, en Nethaneel, en Amasai, en Zecharja, en Benaja, en Eliezer, de priesters, trompetten met trompetten voor de ark Gods; en Obed-Edom en Jehia waren poortiers der ark.
And Shebanyahu, and Joshaphat, and Nethanel, and 'Amassai, and Zecharyahu, and Benayahu, and Eli'ezer, the priests, did blow on the trumpets before the ark of God; and 'Obed-edom and Jechiyah were gatekeepers for the ark.
25 Het geschiedde nu, dat David en de oudsten van Israel, en de oversten der duizenden, henengingen, om de ark des verbonds des HEEREN op te halen, uit het huis van Obed-Edom, met vreugde;
And it was David, with the elders of Israel, and the officers over the thousands, who went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of the house of 'Obed-edom with joy.
26 Zo geschiedde het, doordien dat God de Levieten hielp, die de ark des verbonds des HEEREN droegen, dat zij zeven varren en zeven rammen offerden.
And it came to pass, when God helped the Levites who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord, that they offered seven bullocks and seven rams.
27 David nu was gekleed met een mantel van fijn linnen; ook al de Levieten, die de ark droegen, en de zangers, en Chenanja, de overste van het opheffen der zangers; ook had David een lijfrok aan van linnen.
And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and [so were] all the Levites that carried the ark, and the singers, and Kenanyahu the chief in conducting the singing of the singers; but David had also upon him an ephod of linen.
28 Alzo bracht gans Israel de ark des verbonds des HEEREN op, met gejuich, en met geluid der bazuin, en met trompetten, en met cimbalen, makende geluid met luiten en met harpen.
Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the Lord with shouting, and with the sound of the cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, playing aloud on psalteries and harps.
29 Het geschiedde nu, toen de ark des verbonds des HEEREN tot aan de stad Davids gekomen was, dat Michal, de dochter van Saul, door een venster keek, en den koning David zag, springende en spelende; zo verachtte zij hem in haar hart.
And it happened, as the ark of the covenant of the Lord came as far as the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looked through the window, and saw king David dancing and playing, and she despised him in her heart.
