Psalmen 26

1 Van David. Wees mijn Rechter, o Jahweh! Want mijn wandel is rein; Altijd heb ik op Jahweh vertrouwd, Nooit gewankeld!

David’s. Do me justice, O Yahweh, For, I, in my blamelessness, have walked, and, in Yahweh, have I trusted, I will not waver.

2 Beproef mij, en toets mij, o Jahweh; Doorgrond mijn nieren en hart.

Try me, O Yahweh, and prove me, Test my reins and my heart: —

3 Want uw liefde houd ik voor ogen, En in uw waarheid heb ik geleefd;

For, thy lovingkindness, hath been before mine eyes, and I have walked to and fro in thy faithfulness;

4 Ik heb geen gemeenschap met veinzers, Met gluipers ga ik niet om;

I have not sat with men of deceit, nor, with dissemblers, would I enter;

5 Ik haat het gezelschap der bozen, En met slechtaards zit ik niet aan.

I have hated the convocation of evil-doers, and, with lawless men, would I not sit;

6 Maar ik was mijn handen in onschuld, En sta rond uw altaar,

I will bathe, in pureness, my hands, —so will I go in procession around thine altar, O Yahweh;

7 O Jahweh, om U een loflied te zingen, En al uw wonderen te melden.

To sound aloud a song, and to recount all thy wonderful doings.

8 Jahweh, ik bemin het huis, waar Gij toeft, De woonplaats van uw heerlijkheid.

O Yahweh, I have loved the asylum of thy house, even the place of the habitation of thy glory!

9 Werp mij niet weg met de zondaars, Mijn leven niet met moordenaars,

Do not remove, with sinners, my soul, nor, with men of bloodshed, my life;

10 Aan wier handen misdaad kleeft, Wier rechterhand is omgekocht.

In whose hands is a plot, and, their right hand, is filled with a bribe.

11 Neen, ik wandel in onschuld; Red mij dus, Jahweh, en wees mij genadig!

But, I, in my blamelessness, will walk, Redeem me and show me favour.

12 Mijn voet staat in de gerechtigheid vast; Ik zal U loven, o Jahweh, in de volle gemeente!

My foot standeth in a level place, In the convocations, will I bless Yahweh.
