Psalmen 145
1 Een loflied van David. Ik wil U verheffen, mijn God en mijn Koning Uw Naam in eeuwigheid loven;
“A hymn of praise by David.” I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever.
2 Ik wil U zegenen iedere dag, Uw Naam verheerlijken voor altijd en eeuwig.
Every day will I bless thee, and I will praise thy name for ever and ever.
3 Groot is Jahweh, en hooggeprezen, Zijn majesteit is niet te doorgronden!
Great is the Lord, and greatly praised, and his greatness is unsearchable.
4 Van geslacht tot geslacht zal men uw werken verheffen, En uw machtige daden vermelden;
One generation shall praise thy works to the other, and thy mighty acts shall they declare.
5 Van de heerlijke luister van uw Majesteit spreken, En uw wonderen bezingen;
On the majestic glory of thy excellence, and on thy wondrous deeds will I meditate.
6 Van de macht uwer ontzaglijke daden gewagen, En uw grootheid verkonden!
And of the might of thy terrible acts shall men converse: and thy greatness will I relate.
7 Men zal de roem van uw onmetelijke goedheid verbreiden, En over uw goedertierenheid jubelen:
The memorial of thy abundant goodness shall they loudly proclaim, and they shall sing joyfully of thy righteousness.
8 "Genadig en barmhartig is Jahweh, Lankmoedig, vol goedheid;
Gracious and merciful is the Lord, long-suffering, and great in kindness.
9 Goedertieren is Jahweh voor allen, Zijn barmhartigheid strekt zich over al zijn schepselen uit!"
The Lord is good to all, and his mercies are over all his works.
10 Al uw werken zullen U loven, o Jahweh, En uw vromen zullen U prijzen;
All thy works shall thank thee, O Lord; and thy pious servants shall bless thee.
11 Ze zullen de glorie van uw Koningschap roemen, En uw almacht verkonden:
Of the glory of thy kingdom shall they converse, and of thy might shall they speak:
12 Om de kinderen der mensen uw kracht te doen kennen, En de heerlijke glans van uw Rijk.
To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of his kingdom.
13 Uw Koningschap is een koningschap voor alle eeuwen, Uw heerschappij blijft van geslacht tot geslacht! Trouw is Jahweh in al zijn beloften, En in al zijn werken vol goedheid.
Thy kingdom is a kingdom of all eternities, and thy dominion [subsisteth] throughout all generations.
14 Jahweh stut die dreigen te vallen, En die gebukt gaan, richt Hij weer op.
The Lord upholdeth all who are falling, and raiseth up all those who are bowed down.
15 Aller ogen zien naar U uit, Gij geeft voedsel aan allen, elk op zijn tijd;
The eyes of all wait hopefully upon thee, and thou givest them their food in its due season.
16 Gij opent uw handen, En verzadigt naar hartelust al wat leeft!
Thou openest thy hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.
17 Goedertieren is Jahweh in al zijn wegen, En in al zijn werken vol liefde.
Righteous is the Lord in all his ways, and beneficent in all his works.
18 Jahweh is allen, die Hem roepen, nabij: Allen, die oprecht tot Hem bidden.
The Lord is nigh unto all those who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
19 Hij vervult de wensen van hen, die Hem vrezen; Hij hoort hun smeken, en komt ze te hulp.
The desire of those who fear him will he fulfill, and their cry will he hear, and save them.
20 Jahweh behoedt wie Hem liefheeft, Maar vernielt alle bozen!
The Lord preserveth all those who love him; but all the wicked will he destroy.
21 Mijn mond zal de lof van Jahweh verkonden; Alle vlees zijn heilige Naam zegenen voor eeuwig!
The praise of the Lord shall my mouth speak: and let all flesh bless his holy name for ever and ever.
