Psalmen 130

1 Een bedevaartslied. Uit de diepten, o Jahweh, roep ik tot U,

“A psalm of the steps, or the goings up.” Out of the depths do I cry to thee, O LORD!

2 Heer, hoor mijn klagen; Laat uw oren toch luisteren Naar mijn bidden en smeken!

O Lord! listen to my voice, Let thine ears be attentive to my supplication!

3 Ach Jahweh, zo Gij de zonde gedenkt, Ach Heer, wie zou het bestaan?

If thou, LORD, shouldst treasure up transgressions, Lord, who could stand?

4 Neen, bij U is vergeving, Opdat ik vol hoop U zou vrezen, o Jahweh.

But with thee is forgiveness, That thou mayst be feared.

5 Mijn ziel schouwt hunkerend naar zijn belofte, Mijn ziel smacht naar den Heer;

I trust in the LORD; my soul doth trust, And in his promise do I confide.

6 Meer dan wachters naar de morgen,

My soul waiteth for the LORD More than they who watch for the morning; Yea, more than they who watch for the morning!

7 Ziet Israël naar Jahweh uit. Want bij Jahweh is ontferming, En overvloed van verlossing;

O Israel! trust in the LORD! For with the LORD is mercy, And with him is plenteous redemption.

8 Hij zal Israël bevrijden Van al zijn zonden!

He will redeem Israel From all his iniquities.
