Mattheüs 22
1 Weer nam Jesus het woord, en sprak tot hen in gelijkenissen:
And answering Jesus again spoke in parables to them saying;
2 Het rijk der hemelen is gelijk aan een koning, die een bruiloftsmaal gaf voor zijn zoon.
Has become like the kingdom of the heavens to a man a king who made a wedding feast for the son of him.
3 En hij zond zijn dienaars uit, om de genodigden tot de bruiloft te roepen; maar ze wilden niet komen.
And he sent the servants of him to call those invited to the wedding feast, and not they were willing to come.
4 Opnieuw zond hij andere dienaars, en sprak: Zegt aan de genodigden: Ziet, ik heb mijn maaltijd gereed, mijn ossen en mestvee zijn geslacht, en alles is klaar; komt toch ter bruiloft.
Again he sent other servants saying; do say to those invited; Behold the dinner of mine (I have prepared, *N(k)O*) the oxen of Mine and the fatlings killed, and all things [are] ready; come to the wedding feast.
5 Maar ze sloegen er geen acht op, en gingen huns weegs; de een naar zijn hoeve, de ander naar zijn zaken.
And having paid no attention they went away, (that [one] *N(k)O*) indeed to [his] own field, (that [one] *N(k)O*) however (to *N(k)O*) the business of him;
6 De overigen grepen zijn dienaars vast, mishandelden en doodden ze.
And the rest having laid hold of the servants of him mistreated and killed [them].
7 Toen werd de koning vergramd; hij zond zijn leger uit, doodde die moordenaars en stak hun stad in brand.
(and *o*) (having heard *k*) Now the king (that *k*) was angry, and having sent the armies of him he destroyed the murderers those and the city of them he burned.
8 En hij sprak tot zijn dienaars: Het bruiloftsmaal is wel gereed, maar de genodigden verdienden het niet.
Then he says to the servants of him; The indeed wedding feast ready is, those however invited not were worthy.
9 Gaat dus naar de kruispunten der straten, en nodigt allen ter bruiloft, die gij er vinden zult.
do go therefore into the thoroughfares of the highways, and as many as (if *N(k)O*) you shall find, do invite to the wedding feast.
10 Zijn dienaars gingen de straten op, en verzamelden allen, die zij er aantroffen, slechten en goeden; en de bruiloftszaal werd met gasten gevuld.
And having gone out the servants those into the highways they brought together all (as many as *N(k)O*) they found, evil both and good; and became full the (wedding hall *NK(O)*) of those reclining.
11 Toen nu de koning binnentrad, om de aanliggende gasten te zien, zag hij een man, die geen bruiloftskleed aan had.
Having entered in then the king to see those reclining he saw there a man not being dressed himself in clothes of wedding
12 En hij sprak tot hem: Vriend, hoe zijt ge hier zonder bruiloftskleed binnengekomen? Hij wist er geen antwoord op te geven.
and he says to him; Friend, how did you enter here not having garment of wedding? And he was speechless.
13 Nu zei de koning tot zijn bedienden: Bindt hem handen en voeten, en werpt hem naar buiten de duisternis in; daar zal geween zijn en gekners der tanden.
Then the king said to the servants; Having bound his feet and hands (do take and *KO*) do cast out him into the darkness outer; there will be the weeping and the gnashing of the teeth.
14 Want velen zijn geroepen, maar weinigen zijn uitverkoren.
Many for are called, few however chosen.
15 Daarop gingen de farizeën heen, en beraadslaagden, hoe ze Hem in zijn eigen woorden zouden verstrikken.
Then having gone out the Pharisees counsel took how Him they may trap in His words.
16 Ze zonden hun leerlingen met de aanhangers van Herodes op Hem af met de vraag: Meester, we weten, dat Gij oprecht zijt, de weg van God naar waarheid leert, en niemand naar de ogen ziet; want Gij kent geen aanzien des persoons.
And they send to Him the disciples of them with the Herodians (saying; *NK(o)*) Teacher, we know that true You are and the way of God in [the] truth You teach, and not there is care to You about no [one], not for You look on [the] appearance of men.
17 Zeg ons dus: wat dunkt U; is het geoorloofd den keizer belasting te betalen, of niet?
do tell therefore us what You think? Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar or not?
18 Jesus kende hun boosheid, en sprak: Huichelaars, wat stelt gij Mij op de proef?
Having known however Jesus the malice of them He said; Why Me do you test, hypocrites?
19 Laat Mij de cijnspenning zien. Ze hielden Hem een tienling voor.
do show Me the coin of the tribute. And they presented to Him a denarius.
20 Jesus zeide hun: Wiens beeld en randschrift is dit?
And He says to them; Of whom [is] likeness this And [of whom is] the inscription?
21 Ze zeiden: Van den keizer. Hij sprak tot hen: Geeft dan den keizer, wat den keizer toekomt; en geeft aan God, wat God toekomt.
They say to Him; Of Caesar. Then He says to them; do give back therefore the [things] of Caesar to Caesar and the [things] of God to God.
22 Toen ze dit hoorden, waren ze verwonderd; ze lieten Hem met rust, en gingen heen.
And having heard they marveled, and having left Him they went away.
23 Op diezelfde dag kwamen de sadduceën naar Hem toe, die de verrijzenis loochenen. Ze ondervroegen Hem:
On that [very] day came to Him Sadducees (those *k*) saying not being a resurrection and they questioned Him
24 Meester, Moses heeft gezegd: Wanneer iemand kinderloos sterft, dan zal zijn broer de vrouw van hem huwen, en nakomelingschap voor zijn broer verwekken.
saying; Teacher, Moses said; If anyone shall die not having children, will marry the brother of him the wife of him and he will raise up offspring for the brother of him.
25 Nu waren er bij ons zeven broers; de eerste huwde en stierf; en daar hij geen kinderen had, liet hij zijn vrouw achter aan zijn broer.
There were now among us seven brothers. and the first having married died, and not having seed he left the wife of him to the brother of him;
26 Zo ging het ook met den tweeden en den derden, tot den zevenden toe.
Likewise also the second and the third until the seventh.
27 Het laatst van allen stierf ook de vrouw.
Finally then of all died (and *ko*) the woman.
28 Wien van de zeven zal ze nu bij de verrijzenis als vrouw toebehoren? Ze hebben haar immers allen gehad.
In the resurrection therefore of which of the seven will she be wife? All for had her.
29 Jesus antwoordde: Gij dwaalt en kent de Schriften niet, en evenmin de kracht van God.
Answering now Jesus said to them; You err not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God.
30 Want bij de verrijzenis huwt men niet, noch wordt men gehuwd; maar men zal zijn als engelen Gods in de hemel.
In for the resurrection neither do they marry nor (are given in marriage *N(k)O*) but like angels (*K*) (of God *KO*) in (*no*) heaven they are.
31 En wat de verrijzenis der doden betreft, hebt gij niet gelezen, wat God u gezegd heeft:
Concerning now the resurrection of the dead surely you have read that which has been spoken to you by God saying;
32 "Ik ben de God van Abraham, de God van Isaäk, de God van Jakob?" Hij is toch geen God van doden, maar van levenden.
I myself am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob?’ Not He is the God (God *k*) of [the] dead but of [the] living.
33 Toen het volk dit hoorde, stond het verbaasd over zijn leer.
And having heard the crowds were astonished at the teaching of Him.
34 Toen de farizeën vernamen, dat Hij de sadduceën tot zwijgen gebracht had, kwamen ze naar Hem toe;
And the Pharisees having heard that He had silenced the Sadducees were gathered together the same.
35 en een hunner, een wetgeleerde, vroeg, om Hem op de proef te stellen:
And questioned [Him] one of them a lawyer testing Him (and saying: *k*)
36 Meester, wat is het grootste gebod in de Wet?
Teacher, which commandment [is the] greatest in the law?
37 Jesus zei hem: "Gij zult den Heer uw God beminnen met heel uw hart, met heel uw ziel en heel uw verstand."
And (Jesus *k*) (was saying *N(k)O*) to him; You will love [the] Lord the God of you with all the heart of you and with all the soul of you and with all the mind of you.’
38 Dit is het grootste en eerste gebod.
This is (the *no*) great and first commandment.
39 En het tweede daaraan gelijk: "Gij zult uw naaste beminnen als uzelf."
[The] second also [is] like (to it: *NK(o)*) You will love the neighbour of you as yourself.’
40 Aan deze twee geboden hangt heel de Wet en de Profeten.
On these two commandments all the law (hangs *N(k)O*) and the Prophets.
41 Daar nu de farizeën toch bij elkaar waren, vroeg Jesus hun:
When were assembled now the Pharisees questioned them Jesus
42 Wat dunkt u van den Christus? Wiens zoon is Hij? Ze zeiden: Van David.
saying; What you think concerning the Christ? Of whom son is He? They say to Him; Of David.
43 Hij zeide hun: Hoe noemt David in den Geest Hem dan Heer, wanneer hij zegt:
He says to them; How then David in spirit does call Him Lord saying:
44 "De Heer heeft gesproken tot mijn Heer: Zet U aan mijn rechterhand, Totdat Ik uw vijanden leg Als een voetbank voor uw voeten!"
Said (the *k*) Lord to the Lord of me; do sit on [the] right hand of Me until when I may place the enemies of You ([as] a footstool *N(k)O*) for the feet of You?
45 Als David Hem Heer noemt, hoe is Hij dan zijn zoon?
If therefore David calls Him Lord, how son of him is He?
46 Niemand kon Hem antwoord geven; en van die dag af durfde niemand Hem meer ondervragen.
And no [one] was able to answer Him a word nor dared anyone from that [very] day to question Him no longer. no longer.
