Mattheüs 12
1 In die tijd ging Jesus op de sabbat door het korenveld, en daar zijn leerlingen honger hadden, begonnen ze aren te plukken en op te eten.
At that [very] time went Jesus on the Sabbaths through the grainfields; and the disciples of Him hungered and they began to pluck [the] heads of grain and to eat.
2 De farizeën, die dit zagen, zeiden tot Hem: Zie, uw leerlingen doen, wat men op de sabbat niet doen mag.
And the Pharisees having seen they said to Him; Behold the disciples of You are doing what not it is lawful to do on Sabbath.
3 Maar Hij zei hun: Hebt gij niet gelezen, wat David deed, toen hij met zijn gevolg honger had?
He then said to them; Surely you have read what did David when he was hungry (he himself *k*) and those with him?
4 Hoe hij het huis van God binnenging en de toonbroden opat, die hij, noch zij die met hem waren, mochten eten, maar de priesters alleen?
how he entered into the house of God and the loaves of the presentation (they ate, *N(K)O*) (that which *N(k)O*) not lawful it was for him to eat nor for those with him only except for the priests alone?
5 Of hebt gij niet gelezen in de Wet, dat op de sabbat de priesters in de tempel de sabbatrust verbreken, en toch niet schuldig zijn?
Or surely have you read in the law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple the Sabbath profane and guiltless are?
6 En Ik zeg u: hier is er een, die groter is dan de tempel.
I say however to you that than the temple (a greater *N(k)O*) is here.
7 Zo gij wist, wat het zeggen wil: "Barmhartigheid wil Ik en geen offerande," dan zoudt gij geen onschuldigen hebben veroordeeld;
If however you had known what is; (mercy *N(k)O*) I desire and not [desire] sacrifice,’ not then would you have condemned the guiltless.
8 want de Mensenzoon is heer van de sabbat.
lord for is (and *k*) of the Sabbath the Son of Man.
9 Toen ging Hij heen, en kwam in hun synagoge;
And having departed from there He went into the synagogue of them.
10 en zie, daar was een man, wiens hand was verdord. Om Hem nu te kunnen beschuldigen, stelden ze Hem de vraag: Is het geoorloofd, op de sabbat te genezen?
And behold a man (was *k*) a hand having withered; And they asked Him saying; Is it is lawful on the Sabbaths (to heal? *N(k)O*) so that they may accuse Him.
11 Hij zei hun: Wie is er onder u, die één enkel schaap heeft, en het niet vastgrijpt, als het op de sabbat in een kuil valt, en het er uittrekt?
He then said to them; Who will there be among you man who will have sheep one, and if shall fall it on the Sabbaths into a pit, surely he will take hold of it and will raise [it] up?
12 Welnu, hoeveel meer is een mens waard dan een schaap! Het is dus geoorloofd, op de sabbat goed te doen.
How much therefore is more valuable a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful on the Sabbaths good to do.
13 Toen sprak Hij tot den man: Strek uw hand uit. Hij strekte ze uit, en ze was weer zo gezond als de andere.
Then He says to the man; do stretch out your hand. And he stretched [it] out, and it was restored sound as the other.
14 Nu gingen de farizeën heen, en spanden tegen Hem samen, hoe ze Hem in het verderf zouden storten.
Having gone out now the Pharisees a counsel held against Him how Him they may destroy.
15 Maar Jesus kreeg er kennis van, en verwijderde Zich van daar; velen volgden Hem, en Hij genas ze allen.
And Jesus having known He withdrew from there, And followed Him multitudes great, and He healed them all
16 Maar Hij verbood hun, Hem bekend te maken,
and He warned them that not known Him they may make —
17 opdat vervuld zou worden, wat door den profeet Isaias voorzegd was:
(so that *N(k)O*) may be fulfilled that having been spoken through Isaiah the prophet saying;
18 Zie mijn Dienaar, dien Ik heb uitverkoren, Mijn Welbeminde, in wien mijn ziel behagen schept. Ik zal mijn Geest op Hem doen rusten, En Hij zal aan de volkeren het recht verkonden.
Behold the servant of Mine whom I have chosen, the beloved of Mine (in whom *NK(o)*) has found delight the soul of Mine. I will put the Spirit of Mine upon Him, and justice to the Gentiles He will proclaim.
19 Hij zal twisten noch roepen, En niemand zal zijn stem op de straten horen.
Not will He quarrel nor will he cry out, nor will hear anyone in the streets the voice of Him.
20 Hij zal het geknakte riet niet breken, De kwijnende vlaspit niet doven, Totdat Hij het recht ter zegepraal voert.
A reed bruised not He will break and a wick smoldering not He will quench until when He shall lead to victory justice.
21 Op zijn naam zullen de volkeren hopen!
And (in *k*) in the name of Him [the] Gentiles will hope.
22 Toen werd tot Hem een bezetene gebracht, die blind en stom was: Hij genas hem, zodat de stomme sprak en zag.
Then (was brought *NK(O)*) to Him ([one] being demonised blind *NK(O)*) and (mute, *NK(O)*) and He healed him in order for the (blind and *k*) mute [man] (and *k*) to speak and to see.
23 Heel de menigte was verbaasd, en zeide: Zou Hij niet de Zoon van David zijn?
And were amazed all the crowds and were saying; surely not ever this is the Son of David?
24 Toen de farizeën dit hoorden, zeiden ze: Hij drijft slechts de duivels uit door Beélzebub, den vorst der duivels.
And the Pharisees having heard said; This [man] not casts out the demons only except by Beelzebul prince of the demons.
25 Maar Jesus, die hun gedachten kende, sprak tot hen: Ieder rijk, dat inwendig verdeeld is, zal verwoest worden: en iedere stad of woning, die inwendig verdeeld is, zal geen stand houden.
knowing now (Jesus *k*) the thoughts of them He said to them; Every kingdom having been divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house having been divided against itself not will stand.
26 Zo dus satan den satan uitdrijft, dan strijdt hij tegen zichzelf: hoe zal zijn rijk dan stand kunnen houden?
And if Satan Satan casts out, against himself he is divided; How then will stand the kingdom of him?
27 En indien Ik door Beélzebub de duivels uitdrijf, door wien drijven dan uw zonen ze uit? Daarom zullen zijzelf uw rechters zijn.
And if I myself by Beelzebul cast out demons, the sons of you by whom do they cast out? On account of this they themselves judges will be of you.
28 Maar zo Ik door Gods Geest de duivels uitdrijf, dan is ook het koninkrijk Gods onder u gekomen.
If however by [the] Spirit of God I myself cast out demons, then has come upon you the kingdom of God.
29 Of hoe zal iemand het huis van een sterk man binnendringen en zijn huisraad roven, zo hij niet eerst den sterke bindt? Eerst dan zal hij zijn huis kunnen plunderen.
Or how is able anyone to enter into the house of the strong [man] and the goods of him (to plunder, *N(k)O*) only unless first he shall bind the strong [man]? And then the house of him (he will rob. *NK(O)*)
30 Wie niet met Mij is, is tegen Mij; en wie niet met Mij verzamelt, verstrooit.
The [one] not being with Me against Me is, and the [one] not gathering with Me scatters.
31 Daarom zeg Ik u: Iedere zonde en godslastering zal aan de mensen worden vergeven; maar het lasteren van den Geest zal niet worden vergeven.
Because of this I say to you; every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven to men, however against the Spirit blasphemy not will be forgiven (to the men. *k*)
32 En wie iets zegt tegen den Mensenzoon, hem zal het worden vergeven; maar wie iets zegt tegen den Heiligen Geest, hem zal het niet vergeven worden, noch in deze wereld noch in de toekomstige. (aiōn g165)
And who[ever] (if *N(k)O*) shall speak a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven to him; who[ever] now maybe shall speak against Spirit the Holy, not it will be forgiven to him neither in this (present *O*) age nor in the [one] coming. (aiōn g165)
33 Of wel: gij noemt de boom goed, maar dan ook goed zijn vrucht; of wel: gij noemt de boom slecht, maar dan ook slecht zijn vrucht; want de boom wordt aan de vruchten gekend.
Either do make the tree good and the fruit of it good, or do make the tree bad and the fruit of it bad; by for the fruit the tree is known.
34 Adderenbroed, hoe zoudt gij iets goeds kunnen zeggen, terwijl gij slecht zijt? Want de mond spreekt waar het hart van overvloeit.
Offspring of vipers, how are you able good things to speak evil being? Out of for the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.
35 De goede mens brengt goed voort uit de goede schat, de kwade mens kwaad uit de kwade schat.
The good man out of good treasure (of [his] heart *K*) puts forth (*k*) good things, and the evil man out of [his] evil treasure puts forth evil things.
36 En Ik zeg u: Van ieder ijdel woord, dat de mensen hebben gesproken, zullen ze rekenschap geven op de oordeelsdag.
I say now to you that every declaration careless that (if *k*) (will speak *N(k)O*) men, they will give of it an account in day of judgment.
37 Op grond van uw woorden zult ge gerechtvaardigd worden, en op grond van uw woorden worden veroordeeld.
By for the words of you you will be justified and by the words of you you will be condemned.
38 Eens spraken enige schriftgeleerden en farizeën Hem aan, en zeiden: Meester, we verlangen een wonderteken van U te zien.
Then answered (to him *no*) some of the scribes and Pharisees saying; Teacher, we wish from You a sign to see.
39 Maar Hij gaf hun ten antwoord: Een boos en overspelig geslacht vraagt een teken; maar geen teken zal hun worden gegeven, dan het teken van Jonas, den profeet.
And answering He said to them; A generation evil and adulterous a sign seeks for; and a sign not will be given to it only except the sign of Jonah the prophet.
40 Want zoals Jonas drie dagen en drie nachten in de buik van het zeemonster was, zo zal ook de Mensenzoon drie dagen en drie nachten in het hart der aarde zijn.
Just as for was Jonah in the belly of the great fish three days and three nights, so will be the Son of Man in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.
41 De Ninivieten zullen in het oordeel opstaan te zamen met dit geslacht, en het veroordelen; want zij bekeerden zich op de prediking van Jonas; en zie, meer dan Jonas is hier.
[The] men of Nineveh will stand up in the judgment with generation this and will condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold greater than Jonah here.
42 De koningin van het zuiden zal in het oordeel opstaan te zamen met dit geslacht, en het veroordelen; want zij kwam van het uiteinde der aarde om Sálomons wijsheid te horen; en zie, meer dan Sálomon is hier.
[The] queen of [the] south will rise up in the judgment with generation this and will condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold greater than Solomon here.
43 Wanneer de onreine geest van iemand is uitgegaan, zwerft hij rond in dorre oorden; hij zoekt rust, en vindt ze niet.
When now the unclean spirit may go out from the man, it passes through waterless places seeking rest and none finds.
44 Dan zegt hij: Ik zal terugkeren naar mijn huis, waar ik ben uitgegaan. En bij zijn komst vindt hij het leeg, geveegd en versierd.
Then it says; To the house of mine I will return from where I came out. And having come it finds [it] being unoccupied, (and *o*) swept and ordered.
45 Dan gaat hij heen, en neemt zeven andere geesten met zich mee, die bozer zijn dan hijzelf; ze komen binnen, en wonen daar. En het einde van dien man wordt erger nog dan het begin. Zo zal het ook gaan met dit verdorven geslacht.
Then it goes and it takes with itself seven other spirits more evil than itself, and having entered in they dwell there; and becomes the last man of that worse than the first. So it will be also to generation this the evil.
46 Terwijl Hij nog sprak tot de scharen, zie, daar stonden zijn moeder en broeders buiten, en wilden Hem spreken.
While (now *ko*) when He is speaking to the crowds behold the mother and the brothers of Him had been standing outside seeking to Him to speak.
47 Men zei Hem: Zie, uw moeder en broeders staan buiten, en willen U spreken.
Said now someone to Him; Behold the mother of You and the brothers of you outside have stood seeking to You to speak.
48 Maar Hij antwoordde aan die Hem dit zeiden: Wie is mijn moeder, en wie zijn mijn broeders?
And answering He said to the [one] (telling *N(k)O*) to Him; Who is the mother of Mine and who are the brothers of Mine?
49 En Hij strekte de hand naar zijn leerlingen uit en sprak: Ziedaar mijn moeder en broeders;
And having stretched out the hand of Him to the disciples of Him He said; Behold the mother of Mine and the brothers of Mine.
50 want wie de wil van mijn Vader volbrengt, die in de hemelen is, hij is mijn broeder en zuster en moeder.
Whoever for maybe may do the will the Father of Mine who [is] in [the] heavens, he himself My brother and sister and mother is.
