Joël 3

1 Want zie, in die dagen en in die tijd, Waarin Ik het lot van Juda, En het lot van Jerusalem ten beste zal keren,

That there! in the days those and at the time that when (I will cause to turn back *Q(K)*) [the] captivity of Judah and Jerusalem.

2 Drijf Ik alle heidenen te hoop; In het Dal van Josafat zal Ik ze voeren, En daar oordeel over hen houden! Omdat ze mijn volk, en Israël mijn erfdeel, Onder de heidenen hebben verstrooid; Mijn land onder elkander verdeeld,

And I will gather all the nations and I will bring down them to [the] valley of Jehoshaphat and I will enter into judgment with them there on people my and inheritance my Israel which they have scattered among the nations and land my they have divided up.

3 En over mijn volk het lot geworpen; Den knaap hebben verruild voor een deerne, Het meisje verkocht voor wijn, om te brassen.

And to people my they have cast a lot and they have exchanged the boy for the prostitute and the girl they have sold for wine and they have drunk.

4 Wat wilt ge van Mij, Tyrus en Sidon, En gij allen, Filistijnse gewesten? Wilt ge vergelding aan Mij oefenen, Of u wreken op Mij? Bliksemsnel stort Ik uw wraak Op uw eigen hoofd terug!

And also what? [are] you to me O Tyre and Sidon and all [the] territories of Philistia ¿ recompense [are] you repaying to me and or? making recompense [are] you to me swift quickly I will return recompense your on head your.

5 Ge hebt mijn zilver geroofd en mijn goud, Mijn kostbaarste schatten naar uw paleizen gesleept;

That silver my and gold my you took and desirable things my good you took to own temples your.

6 De zonen van Juda en Jerusalem Aan de Grieken verkocht, Om ze weg te voeren Ver van hun land.

And I will sell sons your and daughters your in [the] hand of [the] people of Judah and they will sell them to [the] Sabeans to a nation distant for Yahweh he has spoken.

9 Kondigt het onder de heidenen af: Maakt u gereed voor de heilige strijd; Werft sterke mannen aan! Oorlogsmannen, treedt aan; rukt allen vooruit;

Proclaim this among the nations consecrate a war rouse the warriors let them draw near let them go up all [the] men of war.

10 Smeedt uw ploegen om tot zwaarden, Uw sikkels tot lansen! Zelfs de zwakke moet zeggen: Ik ben een held!

Beat plowshares your into swords and pruning knives your into spears the weak [man] let him say [am] a warrior I.

11 Vooruit, gij allen, u gehaast, Omliggende volken, Sluit de rangen aaneen: Jahweh, breng daar uw strijders bijeen!

Hurry and come O all the nations from round about and they will gather there bring down O Yahweh warriors your.

12 Op heidenen; op naar het Dal van Josafat; Want daar zit Ik ten oordeel over alle omliggende volken!

Let them be roused and they may go up the nations to [the] valley of Jehoshaphat for there I will sit to judge all the nations from round about.

13 Slaat de sikkel erin, want de oogst is rijp, Gaat treden, want de perskuip is vol; De bakken vloeien over, Want hun boosheid is groot!

Send out [the] sickle for it has grown ripe [the] harvest come tread for it is full [the] winepress they are overflowing the wine-vats for [is] great evil their.

14 Drommen, drommen in het Dal der Beslissing; Want Jahweh’s dag is nabij in het Dal der Beslissing!

Multitudes multitudes [are] in [the] valley of decision for [is] near [the] day of Yahweh in [the] valley of decision.

15 Zon en maan verduisteren, De sterren trekken haar glans terug;

Sun and moon they have become dark and [the] stars they have withdrawn brightness their.

16 Jahweh buldert uit Sion, dondert uit Jerusalem: Hemel en aarde beven ervan! Maar voor zijn volk is Jahweh een toevlucht, Een burcht voor Israëls zonen.

And Yahweh from Zion he will roar and from Jerusalem he will give forth voice his and they will shake heaven and earth and Yahweh [will be] a refuge for people his and a stronghold for [the] people of Israel.

17 Dan zult ge weten, dat Ik, Jahweh, uw God ben, Dat Ik woon op de Sion, mijn heilige berg; Dan zal Jerusalem heilig wezen, Geen vreemdeling komt er meer in!

And you will know that I [am] Yahweh God your [who] dwells in Zion [the] mountain of holiness my and it will be Jerusalem a holy place and strangers not they will pass in it again.

18 Op die dag druipen de bergen van wijn, Vloeien de heuvelen van melk, En al de beken van Juda Stromen over van water. Een bron zal uit het huis van Jahweh ontspringen, En zelfs het Sjittim-dal besproeien!

And it will be on the day that they will drip the mountains sweet wine and the hills they will go milk and all [the] ravines of Judah they will go water and a spring from [the] house of Yahweh it will go forth and it will water [the] wadi of Shittim.

19 Egypte zal een steppe worden, Edom een dorre woestijn; Omdat ze Juda’s kinderen hebben mishandeld, Onschuldig bloed in hun land hebben vergoten.

Egypt a desolation it will become and Edom a wilderness of desolation it will become from [the] violence of [the] people of Judah whom they shed blood innocent in land their.

20 Maar Juda zal in eeuwigheid blijven bestaan, Jerusalem van geslacht tot geslacht;

And Judah for ever it will remain and Jerusalem to a generation and a generation.

21 hun bloed laat Ik niet ongewroken: Ik, Jahweh, blijf wonen op Sion!

And I will leave unpunished blood their [which] not I left unpunished and Yahweh [is] dwelling in Zion.
