Job 5
1 Roep maar: er is niemand, die u antwoord geeft; Tot wien van de heiligen wilt ge u wenden?
Call please ¿ [is] there [one who] answers you and to whom? of [the] holy [ones] will you turn.
2 Het is dus de wrevel, die den dwaas vermoordt, De gramschap doodt dus den zot.
For a fool it slays vexation and a simple [one] it kills jealousy.
3 Ik heb den dwaas wel wortel zien schieten, Maar plotseling verrotte zijn akker;
I I have seen a fool taking root and I cursed habitation his suddenly.
4 Zijn kinderen werden van hulp verstoken, Reddeloos vertrapt in de poort;
They are distant children his from safety so they may be crushed in the gate and there not [is] a deliverer.
5 Wat zij hebben geoogst, eet een hongerige op, En de dorstige rooft en drinkt de melk van hun kudde
[the one] who Harvest his - [the] hungry he eats and to from thorns he takes it and it is eager for a snare wealth their.
6 Want het kwaad schiet niet op uit het stof, En de rampspoed ontspruit uit de aarde niet:
For - not it comes forth from [the] dust hardship and from [the] ground not it springs up trouble.
7 Maar het is de mens, die zichzelf de rampspoed verwekt, Zoals de vonken naar boven spatten!
For everyone to trouble he is born and [the] children of flame they make high to fly.
8 Ik, ik wend mij tot God, En leg mijn zaak aan de Godheid voor:
But I I will seek God and to God I will set plea my.
9 Hij, die grootse en ondoorgrondelijke dingen wrocht En ontelbare wonderen;
[who] does Great [things] and there not [is] inquiry wonders until there not [is] number.
10 Die regen over de aarde zendt, En water over de velden giet;
Who gives rain on [the] surface of [the] earth and [who] sends water on [the] surface of [the] open places.
11 Die de nederigen op de hoogte verheft, En treurenden het hoogste geluk doet smaken.
To set lowly [people] to a high place and mourners they are high safety.
12 Die de plannen der sluwen verijdelt, Zodat hun handen de ontwerpen niet ten uitvoer brengen;
[who] frustrates [the] plans of Crafty [people] and not they will bring about hands their success.
13 Die de wijzen vangt in hun eigen list, Zodat de toeleg der slimmen mislukt,
[who] catches Wise [people] when are crafty they and [the] counsel of tortuous [people] it is hasty.
14 En midden op de dag zij op duisternis stuiten, En rondtasten op klaarlichte dag, zoals in de nacht;
By day they meet darkness and like night they grope at noon.
15 Maar die de geplaagden redt uit hun hand, Den arme uit de greep van den sterke:
And he saved from [the] sword from mouth their and from [the] hand of [the] strong [the] needy.
16 Zodat er weer hoop voor den zwakke is, En het onrecht de mond sluit.
And it belonged to poor [person] hope and injustice it shuts mouth its.
17 Gelukkig, gij mens, dien God kastijdt: Versmaad dus de straf van den Almachtige niet!
There! how blessed! [is the] person [whom] he reproves him God and [the] discipline of [the] Almighty may not you reject.
18 Want Hij wondt, maar verbindt, Hij kwetst, maar zijn handen genezen.
For he he causes pain and he may bind up he shatters (and hands his *Q(K)*) they heal.
19 Uit zes noden zal Hij u redden, En in de zevende treft u geen kwaad:
In six troubles he will deliver you and in seven - not it will touch you harm.
20 In hongersnood redt Hij u van de dood, In de oorlog uit de greep van het zwaard;
In famine he will ransom you from death and in battle from [the] hands of [the] sword.
21 Gij zijt veilig voor de gesel der tong, Zonder vrees voor het dreigend geweld.
In [the] whip of [the] tongue you will be hidden and not you will be afraid from destruction if it will come.
22 Met geweld en gebrek zult ge lachen, Voor wilde beesten niet vrezen:
To destruction and to famine you will laugh and from [the] animal[s] of the earth may not you be afraid.
23 Want ge hebt een verbond met de stenen op het veld, En het wild gedierte leeft in vriendschap met u
For [will be] with [the] stones of the field covenant your and [the] animal[s] of the field it will be at peace to you.
24 Dan weet ge, dat uw tent in vrede is, Ge niets vermist, als ge uw woning doorzoekt;
And you will know that [is] safety tent your and you will visit estate your and not you will miss.
25 Dan weet ge, dat uw nageslacht talrijk zal zijn, Uw spruiten als het gras op het veld.
And you will know that [will be] many offspring your and descendants your [will be] like [the] vegetation of the earth.
26 Eerst in uw ouderdom daalt ge ten grave, Zoals de schoof wordt binnengehaald, als het tijd is!
You will go in full strength to [the] grave as goes up a heap of sheaves at appropriate time its.
27 Zie, dit hebben we nagespeurd, en zó is het; Luister er naar, en neem het ter harte!
Here! this we have examined it [is] so it hear it and you know for yourself.
