Jeremia 5
1 Trekt door Jerusalems straten, Kijkt rond en ziet uit; Zoekt op zijn pleinen, of ge iemand kunt vinden, Nog één die gerechtigheid wil, En waarachtigheid zoekt: Dan zou Ik het sparen!
Rove about in [the] streets of Jerusalem and see please and observe and search in open places its if you will find a person if there [is one who] does justice [one who] seeks faithfulness so I may forgive it.
2 Maar al zeggen ze: "Bij het leven van Jahweh!" ze zweren vals!
And though [by] [the] life of Yahweh people say therefore to falsehood they are swearing oaths.
3 Jahweh, Gij wilt toch waarachtigheid zien? Gij hebt ze geslagen, maar ze sidderen niet; Gij hebt ze vernield, maar ze willen niet leren. Ze verharden hun voorhoofd erger nog dan een kei, En weigeren, zich te bekeren.
O Yahweh [are] eyes your ¿ not to faithfulness you struck them and not they writhed you brought to an end them they refused to accept correction they made strong faces their more than rock they refused to return.
4 Ik dacht: Het zijn de kleinen alleen, die zo dwaas zijn, Omdat ze Jahweh’s weg niet kennen, de dienst van hun God;
And I I said only [are] poor [people] they they have acted foolishly for not they know [the] way of Yahweh [the] ordinance of God their.
5 Ik zal tot de groten gaan spreken, Want zij kennen Jahweh’s weg, de dienst van hun God. Maar ze hebben allemaal samen het juk verbroken, De banden aan flarden gescheurd.
I will go for myself to the great and I will speak them for they they know [the] way of Yahweh [the] ordinance of God their nevertheless they alike they had broken off a yoke they had torn off fetters.
6 Daarom vermoordt hen de leeuw uit het woud, Verslindt hen de wolf uit de steppe, Loert de panter bij hun steden, Wie er uitgaat, wordt verscheurd. Want hun zonden zijn talrijk, Hun afval ontstellend.
There-fore it will attack them a lion from a forest a wolf of desert plains it will devastate them a leopard [will be] watching over cities their every [one who] goes out from them he will be torn in pieces for they are many transgressions their they are numerous (apostasies their. *Q(k)*)
7 Hoe zou Ik u dit alles vergeven: Uw zonen verlaten Mij, zweren bij al wat geen god is. Ik heb ze verzadigd, zij breken hun trouw, En zwermen naar de bordelen:
Where? for this (will I forgive *Q(k)*) you children your they have forsaken me and they have sworn by not gods and I satisfied them and they committed adultery and [the] house of a prostitute they cut themselves.
8 Allemaal vette, geile hengsten, Hinnekend achter de vrouw van een ander.
Horses well fed lustful they are everyone to [the] wife of neighbor his they neigh.
9 Zou Ik zo iets niet straffen, spreekt Jahweh; Op zulk een volk Mij niet wreken?
¿ On these [things] not will I punish [the] utterance of Yahweh and or? on a nation which [is] like this [one] not will it avenge itself self my.
10 Klimt zijn wijnbergen op en gaat ze vernielen, Maar verwoest ze niet voor altoos; Rukt af zijn ranken, Want ze behoren Jahweh niet toe.
Go up among vine rows its and destroy [them] and complete destruction may not you make remove vine tendrils its for not [belong] to Yahweh they.
11 Want het huis van Israël is Mij ontrouw geworden, Met het huis van Juda, spreekt Jahweh!
For certainly they have dealt treacherously with me [the] house of Israel and [the] house of Judah [the] utterance of Yahweh.
12 Ze hebben tegen Jahweh gelogen, Gezegd: Hij doet immers niets; Over ons komt geen onheil, Wij zullen zwaard noch honger aanschouwen!
They have denied Yahweh and they have said not he and not it will come on us harm and sword and famine not we will see.
13 De profeten zijn lucht; Ze hebben geen godsspraak: het zal hunzelf overkomen!
And the prophets they will become wind and the word not [is] in them thus let it be done to them.
14 Daarom spreekt Jahweh der heirscharen: Omdat zijl zulke woorden spreken, Maak Ik mijn woorden in uw mond tot een vuur, En dit volk tot brandhout, dat het verteert!
Therefore thus he says Yahweh [the] God of hosts because have spoken you the word this here I [am] about to make words my in mouth your into a fire and the people this wood and it will consume them.
15 Zie, Ik laat uit de verte een volk op u los, Huis van Israël: is de godsspraak van Jahweh! Een onverwoestbaar volk, Een eeuwenoud volk, Een volk, waarvan ge de taal niet kent, En de spraak niet verstaat.
Here I [am] about to bring on you a nation from a distance O house of Israel [the] utterance of Yahweh [is] a nation - enduring it [is] a nation from long ago it a nation [which] not you know language its and not you hear what? does it say.
16 Zijn strot gelijkt op een open graf, Het is een leger van helden:
Quiver its [is] like a grave open all of them [are] warriors.
17 Het verslindt uw oogst en uw brood, Het verslindt uw zonen en dochters; Het verslindt uw kudde en vee, Het verslindt uw wingerd en vijg. Het verwoest uw vestingen, Waarop ge vertrouwt, Te vuur en te zwaard:
And it will devour harvest your and food your they will devour sons your and daughters your it will devour flock[s] your and herd[s] your it will devour vine[s] your and fig tree[s] your it will shatter [the] cities of fortifications your which you [are] trusting in them with the sword.
18 Al zal Ik dan ook in die dagen U niet voor immer verdelgen: Is de godsspraak van Jahweh!
And also in the days those [the] utterance of Yahweh not I will make with you complete destruction.
19 Maar als ze dan vragen: Waarom heeft Jahweh, onze God, ons dit alles gedaan? Dan zult ge hun zeggen: Zoals ge Mij hebt verlaten, En vreemde goden in uw land hebt gediend, Moet ge vreemden dienen in een land, dat het uwe niet is!
And it will be that you will say for what? did he do Yahweh God our to us all these [things] and you will say to them just as you forsook me and you served gods of foreignness in own land your so you will serve strangers in a land [which] not [belongs] to you.
20 Verkondigt het in het huis van Jakob, En meldt het in Juda:
Declare this in [the] house of Jacob and proclaim it in Judah saying.
21 Hoort dit eens goed, Gij dwaas en harteloos volk, Dat ogen heeft, maar niet ziet, Dat oren heeft, maar niet hoort.
Hear please this O people fool and there not [is] a heart eyes [belong] to them and not they see ears [belong] to them and not they hear.
22 Mij wilt ge niet vrezen, zegt Jahweh; Voor mijn aanschijn niet beven? Ik, die de duinen gezet heb als grens voor de zee, Een slagboom voor eeuwig, die ze niet overschrijdt; Al klotsen haar golven, ze blijven onmachtig, Hoe ze ook stormen, ze slaan er niet over.
¿ Me not do you fear [the] utterance of Yahweh or? from before me not do you tremble who I appointed [the] sand a boundary for the sea a decree of perpetuity and not it will pass over it and they shook back and forth and not they will prevail and they roar waves its and not they will pass over it.
23 Maar dit volk heeft een bandeloos en onhandelbaar hart; Ze vallen maar af, en lopen maar weg.
And to the people this it belongs a heart stubborn and rebellious they have turned aside and they have gone away.
24 Ze denken niet eens bij zichzelf: Laat ons Jahweh toch vrezen, onzen God, Die ons regen schenkt op zijn tijd, in herfst en in lente, Die ons trouw vaste weken brengt voor de oogst.
And not they said in heart their let us fear please Yahweh God our who gives rain (autumn rain *Q(K)*) and spring rain at appropriate time its [the] weeks of [the] appointments of harvest he keeps for us.
25 Uw misdaden hebben dit alles verstoord, Uw zonden u van die gunsten beroofd!
Iniquities your they have turned aside these [things] and sins your they have withheld good from you.
26 Want er zijn schurken onder mijn volk, Die in hinderlaag liggen, als vogelaars loeren; Die strikken zetten, Om mensen te vangen.
For they are found among people my wicked [people] he watches as bend fowlers they set a destroyer people they catch.
27 Als een mand vol vogels, Zijn hun huizen gepropt met oneerlijk goed. Zo zijn ze machtig en rijk geworden,
Like a cage full bird[s] so houses their [are] full deceit there-fore they have become great and they have gained riches.
28 En glimmen van vet; De boosheid puilt van hen uit Ze kennen geen recht. Voor de wezen pleiten ze niet, Ze nemen het niet voor de armen op!
They have become fat they have become smooth also they have transgressed matters of evil a cause not they have pleaded [the] cause of [the] fatherless so they may have success and [the] justice of needy [people] not they have judged.
29 En zou Ik dit alles niet straffen: Is de godsspraak van Jahweh; Op zulk een volk Mij niet willen wreken?
¿ On these [things] not will I punish [the] utterance of Yahweh or? on a nation which [is] like this [one] not will it avenge itself self my.
30 Ontzettende en gruwelijke dingen Gebeuren er in het land:
An atrocious event and a horrible [thing] it has occurred in the land.
31 De profeten profeteren maar leugens, De priesters regeren voor hun eigen belang. Zo heeft mijn volk het gewild; Maar wat zult ge doen, als het einde komt?
The prophets they have prophesied with falsehood and the priests they are ruling on hands their and people my they have loved thus and what? will you do to end its.
