Jeremia 37

1 Sedekias, de zoon van Josias, was door Nabukodonosor, den koning van Babel, tot koning over het land van Juda aangesteld, en regeerde in plaats van Konjáhoe, den zoon van Jojakim.

2 Hij met zijn hovelingen noch het mindere volk luisterden naar de woorden van Jahweh, die door den profeet Jeremias werden verkondigd.

and not to hear: hear he/she/it and servant/slave his and people [the] land: country/planet to(wards) word LORD which to speak: speak in/on/with hand: by Jeremiah [the] prophet

3 Niettemin zond koning Sedekias eens Jehoekal, den zoon van Sjelemja, en den priester Sefanjáhoe, den zoon van Maäseja, naar den profeet Jeremias met het verzoek: Bid voor ons tot Jahweh, onzen God!

and to send: depart [the] king Zedekiah [obj] Jehucal son: child Shelemiah and [obj] Zephaniah son: child Maaseiah [the] priest to(wards) Jeremiah [the] prophet to/for to say to pray please about/through/for us to(wards) LORD God our

4 Het was in de tijd, dat Jeremias nog niet gevangen was gezet, maar zich vrij onder het volk bewoog,

and Jeremiah to come (in): come and to come out: come in/on/with midst [the] people and not to give: put [obj] him house: home ([the] prison *Q(K)*)

5 en dat de Chaldeën, die Jerusalem belegerden, van Jerusalem waren weggetrokken, toen ze hoorden, dat er een leger van Farao uit Egypte was opgerukt.

and strength: soldiers Pharaoh to come out: come from Egypt and to hear: hear [the] Chaldea [the] to confine upon Jerusalem [obj] report their and to ascend: rise from upon Jerusalem

6 Nu werd het woord van Jahweh tot Jeremias gericht:

and to be word LORD to(wards) Jeremiah [the] prophet to/for to say

7 Zo spreekt Jahweh, Israëls God! Dit moet ge den koning van Juda zeggen, die u hierheen heeft gezonden, om mij te raadplegen: Zie, het leger van Farao, dat is uitgetrokken om u te helpen, keert naar zijn land, naar Egypte, terug.

thus to say LORD God Israel thus to say to(wards) king Judah [the] to send: depart [obj] you to(wards) me to/for to seek me behold strength: soldiers Pharaoh [the] to come out: come to/for you to/for help to return: return to/for land: country/planet his Egypt

8 Dan komen de Chaldeën terug; ze zullen deze stad weer belegeren, haar innemen en in vlammen doen opgaan.

and to return: return [the] Chaldea and to fight upon [the] city [the] this and to capture her and to burn her in/on/with fire

9 Zo spreekt Jahweh: Maakt uzelf maar niets wijs met te denken: De Chaldeën zijn voorgoed van ons weg; want dat zijn ze niet.

thus to say LORD not to deceive soul: myself your to/for to say to go: went to go: went from upon us [the] Chaldea for not to go: went

10 Neen, al zoudt gij het hele leger der Chaldeën verslaan, die tegen u strijden, zodat er maar enkele gewonden in hun tenten bleven liggen, dan zouden die opstaan, en deze stad in vlammen doen opgaan.

11 Terwijl het leger der Chaldeën dus voor de krijgsmacht van Farao van Jerusalem was weggetrokken,

and to be in/on/with to ascend: rise strength: soldiers [the] Chaldea from upon Jerusalem from face: because strength: soldiers Pharaoh

12 wilde Jeremias eens Jerusalem uitgaan, en zich naar het land van Benjamin begeven, om daar onder zijn familie een erfenis te verdelen.

13 Maar toen de profeet Jeremias bij de Benjaminpoort was gekomen, hield de wachtmeester, een zekere Jiri-ja, de zoon van Sjelemja, zoon van Chananja, hem aan, en zeide: Ge wilt overlopen naar de Chaldeën!

14 Jeremias antwoordde: Dat is gelogen; ik loop niet over naar de Chaldeën! Maar zonder naar Jeremias te luisteren, greep Jiri-ja hem vast, en bracht hem voor de aanvoerders.

15 De aanvoerders, die woedend op Jeremias waren, lieten hem geselen, en zetten hem gevangen in het huis van den schrijver Jehonatan, dat men tot kerker had ingericht.

and be angry [the] ruler upon Jeremiah and to smite [obj] him and to give: throw [obj] him house: home [the] bond house: household Jonathan [the] secretary for [obj] him to make to/for house: home [the] prison

16 Men bracht Jeremias in een gewelfde kelder, waar hij lange tijd verbleef.

for to come (in): come Jeremiah to(wards) house: home [the] pit and to(wards) [the] vault and to dwell there Jeremiah day many

17 Eens liet koning Sedekias hem halen, om hem in zijn paleis in het geheim te ondervragen. Hij zeide: Is er soms een woord van Jahweh? Jeremias antwoordde: Ja! En hij vervolgde: Gij zult in de macht van den koning van Babel worden overgeleverd!

18 En Jeremias voegde koning Sedekias nog toe: Wat heb ik tegen u, uw hovelingen en dit volk toch misdaan, dat gij mij in de gevangenis zet?

and to say Jeremiah to(wards) [the] king Zedekiah what? to sin to/for you and to/for servant/slave your and to/for people [the] this for to give: put [obj] me to(wards) house: home [the] prison

19 Waar zijn nu uw profeten, die u hebben voorspeld: De koning van Babel rukt niet op tegen u en tegen dit land!

(and where? *Q(K)*) prophet your which to prophesy to/for you to/for to say not to come (in): come king Babylon upon you and upon [the] land: country/planet [the] this

20 Wees mij terwille, mijn heer en koning, en laat mijn smeken gehoor bij u vinden: Stuur mij niet terug naar het huis van den schrijver Jehonatan; anders zal ik daar sterven.

and now to hear: hear please lord my [the] king to fall: fall please supplication my to/for face: before your and not to return: return me house: household Jonathan [the] secretary and not to die there

21 Toen zette men Jeremias op last van koning Sedekias gevangen in de gevangen-hof, en gaf hem dagelijks een brood uit de Bakkerstraat, totdat er geen brood in de stad meer was. Zo bleef Jeremias dus in de gevangen-hof.

and to command [the] king Zedekiah and to reckon: overseer [obj] Jeremiah in/on/with court [the] guardhouse and to give: give to/for him talent food: bread to/for day: daily from outside [the] to bake till to finish all [the] food: bread from [the] city and to dwell Jeremiah in/on/with court [the] guardhouse
