Jeremia 29
1 Dit is de inhoud van de brief, die de profeet Jeremias uit Jerusalem zond aan de nog levende oudsten onder de ballingen, en aan de priesters, profeten en heel het volk, dat Nabukodonosor van Jerusalem naar Babel had overgebracht,
And these [are] [the] words of the letter which he sent Jeremiah the prophet from Jerusalem to [the] remainder of [the] elders of the exile[s] and to the priests and to the prophets and to all the people which he had taken into exile Nebuchadnezzar from Jerusalem Babylon towards.
2 nadat koning Jekonias met de gebiedster, de hovelingen en de magistraten van Juda en Jerusalem, met de smeden en bankwerkers Jerusalem hadden moeten verlaten.
After went out Jeconiah the king and the queen-mother and the court-officials [the] officials of Judah and Jerusalem and the craftsman and the smith from Jerusalem.
3 Hij gaf hem mee aan Elasa, den zoon van Sjafan, en Gemarja, den zoon van Chilki-ja, die Sedekias, de koning van Juda, naar Babel zond tot Nabukodonosor, den koning van Babel. Hij luidde:
By [the] hand of Eleasah [the] son of Shaphan and Gemariah [the] son of Hilkiah whom he sent Zedekiah [the] king of Judah to Nebuchadnezzar [the] king of Babylon Babylon towards saying.
4 Zo spreekt Jahweh der heirscharen, Israëls God, tot alle ballingen, die Ik van Jerusalem naar Babel heb overgebracht!
Thus he says Yahweh of hosts [the] God of Israel to all the exile[s] whom I sent into exile from Jerusalem Babylon towards.
5 Bouwt huizen, en gaat er in wonen; legt tuinen aan, en geniet van hun vruchten.
Build houses and dwell and plant gardens and eat produce their.
6 Neemt vrouwen, en verwekt zonen en dochters; kiest vrouwen ook voor uw zonen, en huwt eveneens uw dochters uit, opdat zij zonen en dochters baren; vermeerdert u daar, in plaats van in getal te verminderen.
Take wives and father sons and daughters and take for sons your wives and daughters your give to husbands so they may bear sons and daughters and multiply there and may not you diminish.
7 Werkt voor de welvaart der stad, waarheen Ik u heb verbannen, en bidt Jahweh voor haar; want van haar welvaart hangt de uwe af.
And seek [the] welfare of the city where I have sent into exile you there towards and pray for it to Yahweh for in welfare its it will belong to you welfare.
8 Want zo spreekt Jahweh, Israëls God: Laat u door de profeten, die in uw midden vertoeven, en door uw waarzeggers niet misleiden, en luistert niet naar uw dromers, die ge maar moet laten dromen.
For thus he says Yahweh of hosts [the] God of Israel may not they deceive you prophets your who [are] in midst your and diviners your and may not you listen to dreams your which you [are] dreaming.
9 Want ze profeteren u leugens in mijn Naam; Ik heb ze niet gezonden, is de godsspraak van Jahweh.
For with falsehood they [are] prophesying to you in name my not I sent them [the] utterance of Yahweh.
10 Want zo spreekt Jahweh: Eerst als de zeventig jaren van Babel voorbij zijn, zal Ik weer naar u omzien, en u mijn belofte gestand doen, om u terug te brengen naar deze plaats.
That thus he says Yahweh if to [the] mouth will be completed for Babylon seventy year[s] I will give attention to you and I will carry out on you word my good by bringing back you to the place this.
11 Ik ken toch zelf wel de plannen, die Ik over u heb gemaakt, is de godsspraak van Jahweh! Het zijn plannen van heil en niet van rampen; plannen, om u een hoopvolle toekomst te schenken.
For I I know the plans which I [am] planning on you [the] utterance of Yahweh plans of well-being and not for harm to give to you a future and a hope.
12 Als ge dan tot Mij roept en tot Mij komt bidden, dan zal Ik u horen;
And you will call on me and you will come and you will pray to me and I will listen to you.
13 als ge Mij zoekt, met heel uw hart zoekt, dan zult ge Mij vinden.
And you will seek me and you will find [me] if you will seek me with all heart your.
14 Ja, dan zal Ik Mij door u laten vinden, is de godsspraak van Jahweh: aan uw ballingschap een einde maken, u verzamelen uit alle volken en plaatsen, waarheen Ik u heb verstrooid, is de godsspraak van Jahweh, en u terugvoeren naar de plaats, waaruit Ik u heb verbannen.
And I will let myself be found by you [the] utterance of Yahweh and I will turn back (captivity your *Q(k)*) and I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I banished you there [the] utterance of Yahweh and I will bring back you to the place where I sent into exile you from there.
15 Waarachtig, dan zult ge zeggen: Jahweh heeft ons in Babel profeten verwekt!
For you have said he has raised up for us Yahweh prophets Babylon.
16 Maar zo spreekt Jahweh over den koning, die op Davids troon is gezeten, en over heel het volk, dat in deze stad is blijven wonen, over uw broeders, die niet met u in ballingschap zijn gegaan:
For thus - he says Yahweh concerning the king who sits to [the] throne of David and concerning all the people which dwells in the city this countrymen your who not they went out with you in the exile.
17 Zo spreekt Jahweh der heirscharen! Zie, Ik laat het zwaard, de honger en de pest op hen los, en zal er mee doen als met rotte vijgen, te slecht om te eten.
Thus he says Yahweh of hosts here I [am] about to send on them the sword famine and pestilence and I will make them like figs rotten which not they will be eaten from badness.
18 Ik zal ze vervolgen met het zwaard, met honger en pest, en zal ze ten afschrik maken voor alle koninkrijken der aarde, tot een vloek en ontzetting, tot spot en hoon onder alle volken, waaronder Ik ze zal verstrooien.
And I will pursue after them with the sword with famine and with pestilence and I will make them (into a terror *Q(K)*) to all - [the] kingdoms of the earth into a curse and into a waste and into a hissing and into a reproach among all the nations where I have banished them there.
19 Want ze hebben niet naar mijn woorden geluisterd, spreekt Jahweh; niet geluisterd naar de profeten, mijn dienaars, die Ik hun ‘s morgens vroeg en ‘s avonds laat heb gezonden, is de godsspraak van Jahweh.
Because that not they listened to words my [the] utterance of Yahweh [those] whom I sent to them servants my the prophets rising early and sending and not you listened [the] utterance of Yahweh.
20 Luistert gij dan, ballingen, naar het woord van Jahweh, gij allen, die Ik van Jerusalem naar Babel zond.
And you hear [the] word of Yahweh O all the exile[s] whom I sent from Jerusalem Babylon towards.
21 Zo spreekt Jahweh der heirscharen, Israëls God, over Achab, den zoon van Kolaja en Sidki-jáhoe, den zoon van Maäseja, die u leugens profeteren in mijn Naam: Zie, Ik lever ze uit aan Nabukodonosor, den koning van Babel, die ze voor uw ogen zal doden.
Thus he says Yahweh of hosts [the] God of Israel concerning Ahab [the] son of Kolaiah and to Zedekiah [the] son of Maaseiah who are prophesying to you in name my falsehood here I - [am] about to give them in [the] hand of Nebuchadnezzar [the] king of Babylon and he will strike down them to eyes your.
22 Men zal een vloek van hen maken bij alle ballingen van Juda, die zich in Babel bevinden: "Jahweh doe met u als met Sidki-jáhoe en Achab, die de koning van Babel in het vuur heeft geroosterd!"
And it will be taken from them a curse by all [the] exile[s] of Judah who [are] in Babylon saying may he make you Yahweh like Zedekiah and like Ahab whom he roasted them [the] king of Babylon in the fire.
23 Want ze hebben een schanddaad in Israël bedreven, door overspel te begaan met vrouwen van anderen, en leugenwoorden te spreken in mijn Naam, daar Ik hun geen opdracht gaf. Ik weet het, en kan het getuigen, is de godsspraak van Jahweh!
Because that they did folly in Israel and they committed adultery [the] wives of neighbors their and they spoke a word in name my falsehood which not I commanded them and I ([am he] who knows *Q(K)*) and a witness [the] utterance of Yahweh.
24 En tot Sjemajáhoe, den Nechelamiet, moet ge zeggen:
And to Shemaiah the Nehelamite you will say saying.
25 Zo spreekt Jahweh der heirscharen, Israëls God! Omdat gij op eigen gezag een brief hebt gezonden aan heel het volk van Jerusalem, aan den priester Sefanja, den zoon van Maäseja, en aan alle andere priesters…
Thus he says Yahweh of hosts [the] God of Israel saying because that you you sent in own name your letters to all the people which [is] in Jerusalem and to Zephaniah [the] son of Maaseiah the priest and to all the priests saying.
26 Hij luidde: Jahweh heeft u tot priester aangesteld in plaats van den priester Jehojada, om in de tempel van Jahweh toezicht te houden op iederen geestdrijver, die aan het profeteren slaat, en dien in stok en boeien te zetten.
Yahweh he has made you priest in place of Jehoiada the priest to be overseers [the] house of Yahweh to every person [who] is mad and [who] prophesies and you will put him into the stock[s] and into the iron collar.
27 Waarom laat ge dan Jeremias van Anatot ongemoeid, die onder u profeteert?
And therefore why? not have you rebuked Jeremiah the Anathothite who is prophesying to you.
28 Hij heeft bovendien ons in Babel een boodschap gezonden: Nog lang zal het duren! Bouwt huizen, en gaat er in wonen; legt tuinen aan, en geniet van hun vruchten!
For since he has sent to us Babylon saying [will be] a long [time] it build houses and dwell and plant gardens and eat produce their.
29 Toen de priester Sefanja deze brief aan den profeet Jeremias had voorgelezen,
And he read aloud Zephaniah the priest the letter this in [the] ears of Jeremiah the prophet.
30 werd het woord van Jahweh tot Jeremias gericht:
And it came [the] word of Yahweh to Jeremiah saying.
31 Zend alle ballingen deze boodschap! Zo spreekt Jahweh over Sjemaja, den Nechelamiet: Omdat Sjemaja onder u profeteert, zonder dat Ik hem heb gezonden, en omdat hij onder u valse verwachtingen wekt,
Send to all the exile[s] saying thus he says Yahweh concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite because that he has prophesied to you Shemaiah and I not I sent him and he has made rely you on falsehood.
32 daarom spreekt Jahweh! Zie, Ik zal Mij op Sjemaja, den Nechelamiet, en zijn nageslacht wreken; geen van de zijnen zal een plaats krijgen in de kring van dit volk, om het geluk te aanschouwen, dat Ik mijn volk zal bereiden, is de godsspraak van Jahweh; omdat hij opstand tegen Jahweh heeft gepreekt.
Therefore thus he says Yahweh here I [am] about to visit [judgment] on Shemaiah the Nehelamite and on offspring his not he will belong to him anyone - dwelling - in among the people this and not he will look on the good which I [will be] doing for people my [the] utterance of Yahweh for rebellion he has spoken on Yahweh.
