Jeremia 27
1 In het begin der regering van Sedekias, den zoon van Josias en koning van Juda, werd dit woord door Jahweh tot Jeremias gericht.
In the bigynnyng of the rewme of Joachym, the sone of Josie, kyng of Juda, this word was maad of the Lord to Jeremye, and seide,
2 Jahweh sprak tot mij: Ge moet u riemen en jukstangen maken, en die om uw hals doen.
The Lord seith these thingis to me, Make thou to thee boondis and chaynes, and thou schalt putte tho in thi necke;
3 Ge moet die ook aan den koning van Edom, den koning van Moab, den koning der Ammonieten, den koning van Tyrus en den koning van Sidon zenden door bemiddeling van hun gezanten, die naar Jerusalem bij Sedekias, den koning van Juda, zijn gekomen,
and thou schalt sende tho to the kyng of Edom, and to the kyng of Moab, and to the kyng of the sones of Amon, and to the kyng of Tyre, and to the kyng of Sidon, bi the hond of messangeris that camen to Jerusalem, and to Sedechie, kyng of Juda.
4 en hun de volgende opdracht voor hun meesters meegeven: Dit moet ge tot uw meesters zeggen: Zo spreekt Jahweh der heirscharen, Israëls God!
And thou schalt comaunde to hem, that thei speke to her lordis, The Lord of oostis, God of Israel, seith these thingis, Ye schulen seie these thingis to youre lordis,
5 Door mijn geweldige kracht en gespierde arm heb Ik de aarde geschapen met de mensen en dieren, die op de aarde zijn; en Ik geef ze dus aan wien Ik wil.
Y made erthe, and man, and beestis that ben on the face of al erthe, in my greet strengthe, and in myn arm holdun forth; and Y yaf it to hym that plesyde bifore myn iyen.
6 Welnu, thans heb Ik al deze landen aan mijn dienaar Nabukodonosor, den koning van Babel, gegeven; zelfs de wilde beesten heb Ik hem gegeven, om hem dienstbaar te zijn.
And now therfor Y yaf alle these londis in the hond of Nabugodonosor, my seruaunt, the kyng of Babiloyne; ferthermore and Y yaf to hym the beestis of the feeld, that thei serue hym.
7 Alle volken zullen hem, zijn zoon en zijn kleinzoon dienen, totdat ook voor zijn land de tijd is gekomen, dat machtige volken en grote koningen het aan zich zullen onderwerpen.
And alle folkis schulen serue hym, and his sone, and the sone of his sone, til the tyme of his lond and of hym come; and many folkis and grete kyngis schulen serue hym.
8 En wanneer een volk of een koninkrijk zich niet aan Nabukodonosor, den koning van Babel, wil onderwerpen, en zijn nek niet in het juk van den koning van Babel wil steken, dan zal Ik dat volk met zwaard, honger en pest komen straffen, spreekt Jahweh, totdat Ik ze geheel en al onder zijn heerschappij heb gebracht.
Forsothe the folk and rewme that serueth not Nabugodonosor, kyng of Babiloyne, and whoeuer bowith not his necke vndur the yok of the kyng of Babiloyne, Y schal visite on that folk in swerd, and hungur, and pestilence, seith the Lord, til Y waaste hem in his hond.
9 Luistert dus niet naar uw profeten, waarzeggers en dromers, naar uw wichelaars en tovenaars, die tot u zeggen: Ge moet u niet onderwerpen aan den koning van Babel!
Therfor nyle ye here youre profetis, and false dyuynouris, and dremeris, and dyuyneris bi chiteryng and fleyng of briddis, and witchis, that seien to you, Ye schulen not serue the kyng of Babiloyne;
10 Want ze profeteren u leugens; ze bereiken alleen, dat ze u van uw bodem verjagen, en dat Ik u zal verstoten en gij te gronde zult gaan.
for thei profesien a lessyng to you, that thei make you fer fro youre lond, and caste out you, and ye perische.
11 Maar het volk, dat zijn nek in het juk van den koning van Babel steekt en hem dient, zal Ik rustig in zijn land laten blijven, spreekt Jahweh, om het te bebouwen en te bewonen.
Certis the folk that makith suget her nol vndur the yok of the kyng of Babiloyne, and serueth hym, Y schal dismytte it in his lond, seith the Lord; and it schal tile that lond, and schal dwelle therynne.
12 Ook tot Sedekias, den koning van Juda, sprak Ik in dezelfde geest: Steekt uw hals in het juk van den koning van Babel, en onderwerpt u aan hem en zijn volk; dan blijft ge in leven.
And Y spak bi alle these wordis to Sedechie, kyng of Juda, and Y seide, Make ye suget youre neckis vndur the yok of the kyng of Babiloyne, and serue ye hym, and his puple, and ye schulen lyue.
13 Waarom zoudt gij en uw volk willen sterven door zwaard, honger of pest, waarmee Jahweh het volk heeft bedreigd, dat zich niet onderwerpt aan den koning van Babel?
Whi schulen ye die, thou and thi puple, bi swerd, and hungur, and pestilence, as the Lord spak to the folk, that nolde serue to the kyng of Babiloyne?
14 Luistert niet naar het woord der profeten, die u zeggen: Ge moet u niet onderwerpen aan den koning van Babel. Want ze profeteren u leugens.
Nyle ye here the wordis of profetis seiynge to you, Ye schulen not serue the kyng of Babiloyne; for thei speken leesyng to you, for Y sente not hem, seith the Lord;
15 Ik heb hun geen zending gegeven, spreekt Jahweh; ze profeteren leugens in mijn Naam, en bereiken alleen, dat Ik u zal verstoten, en dat gij te gronde zult gaan, gijzelf en de profeten, die voor u profeteren.
and thei profesien falsly in my name, that thei caste out you, and that ye perische, bothe ye and the profetis that profesien to you.
16 En tot de priesters en heel dit volk sprak ik: Zo spreekt Jahweh! Luistert niet naar het woord van uw profeten, die u voorspellen: De vaten uit de tempel van Jahweh komen nu spoedig van Babel terug. Want zij profeteren u leugens.
And Y spak to the preestis, and to this puple, and Y seide, The Lord God seith these thingis, Nyle ye here the wordis of youre profetis, that profesien to you, and seien, Lo! the vessels of the Lord schulen turne ayen now soone fro Babiloyne; for thei profesien a leesyng to you.
17 Luistert niet naar hen, maar onderwerpt u aan den koning van Babel, dan blijft ge in leven. Waarom zou deze stad een puinhoop worden?
Therfor nyle ye here hem, but serue ye to the kyng of Babiloyne, that ye lyue; whi is this citee youun in to wildirnesse?
18 Als zij werkelijk profeten zijn en het woord van Jahweh bezitten, laat hen dan liever bij Jahweh der heirscharen aandringen, dat ook de vaten, die in de tempel van Jahweh, in het paleis van den koning van Juda en in Jerusalem zijn overgebleven, niet eveneens naar Babel gaan.
And if thei ben profetis, and if the word of God is in hem, renne thei to the Lord of oostis, that the vessels whiche weren left in the hous of the Lord, and in the hous of the kyng of Juda, and in Jerusalem, come not in to Babiloyne.
19 Want zo spreekt Jahweh der heirscharen over de zuilen, het bekken, de voetstukken en de rest van het vaatwerk, die in deze stad zijn overgebleven,
For the Lord of oostis seith these thingis to the pilers, and to the see, that is, a greet waischyng vessel, and to the foundementis, and to the remenauntis of vessels, that weren left in this citee,
20 en die Nabukodonosor, de koning van Babel, niet heeft meegenomen, toen hij Jekonias, den zoon van Jojakim en koning van Juda, met al de voornaamsten van Juda en Jerusalem vandaar naar Babel in ballingschap bracht;
whiche Nabugodonosor, king of Babiloyne, took not, whanne he translatide Jeconye, the sone of Joachim, king of Juda, fro Jerusalem in to Babiloyne, and alle the principal men of Juda and of Jerusalem.
21 waarachtig, zo spreekt Jahweh der heirscharen, Israëls God, over de vaten, die in de tempel van Jahweh, in het paleis van Juda’s koning en in Jerusalem zijn overgebleven:
For the Lord of oostis, God of Israel, seith these thingis to the vessels that ben left in the hous of the Lord, and in the hous of the king of Juda, and in Jerusalem, Tho schulen be translatid in to Babiloyne,
22 Naar Babel gaan ze, en daar zullen ze blijven, tot Ik weer naar hen omzie, spreekt Jahweh, en ze weer terugbreng naar deze plaats!
and schulen be there `til to the dai of her visitacioun, seith the Lord; and Y schal make tho to be brouyt, and to be restorid in this place.
