Hosea 3

1 Daarna sprak Jahweh tot mij: Ga nu opnieuw de vrouw beminnen, die zich door een ander het hof laat maken en overspel doet; juist zoals Jahweh de kinderen van Israël blijft beminnen, ofschoon ze zich tot vreemde goden hebben gewend, en op druiven-koeken verzot zijn.

And he said Yahweh to me again go love a woman [who] is loved of a companion and [who] commits adultery as loves Yahweh [the] people of Israel and they [are] turning to gods other and [are] loving cakes of grapes.

2 Ik won ze dus terug voor vijftien zilverlingen en anderhalve maat gerst.

And I bought her for myself for fif-teen silver and a homer of barley and a lethech of barley.

3 Toen sprak ik tot haar: Blijf nu lange tijd rustig bij mij, zonder ontucht te doen, of aan een man te behoren; ook ik blijf u getrouw.

And I said to her days many you will dwell to me not you must prostitute yourself and not you must belong to a man and also I to you.

4 Want lange tijd zullen de kinderen van Israël zonder koning of vorst blijven zitten, zonder offer en wijsteen, zonder orakel en goden.

For - days many they will dwell [the] people of Israel there not [will be] a king and there not [will be] a prince and there not [will be] sacrifice and there not [will be] a pillar and there not [will be] an ephod and teraphim.

5 Maar dan zullen de kinderen van Israël zich bekeren, Jahweh, hun God, weer zoeken, en David hun koning; op het einde der dagen keren zij vol ontzag tot Jahweh en zijn weldaden terug!

After they will return [the] people of Israel and they will seek Yahweh God their and David king their and they will be in dread to Yahweh and to goodness his at [the] end of the days.
