Haggaï 2
1 In de zevende maand, de een en twintigste dag van de maand, werd het woord van Jahweh door den profeet Aggeüs verkondigd!
In the seuenth moneth, in the one and twentieth day of the moneth, came the worde of the Lord by the ministerie of the Prophet Haggai, saying,
2 Spreek tot Zorobabel, den zoon van Salatiël en landvoogd van Juda, tot Jehosjóea, den hogepriester en zoon van Jehosadak, en tot al het overige volk:
Speake nowe to Zerubbabel the sonne of Shealtiel prince of Iudah, and to Iehoshua the sonne of Iehozadak the hie Priest, and to the residue of the people, saying,
3 Wie is er nog onder u, die dit huis in zijn vroegere glorie heeft aanschouwd; en hoe ziet ge het nu? Is het niet in vergelijking daarmee als niets in uw ogen?
Who is left among you, that sawe this House in her first glory, and howe doe you see it nowe? is it not in your eyes, in comparison of it as nothing?
4 En toch, houd moed, Zorobabel, is de godsspraak van Jahweh; houd moed, Jehosjóea, hogepriester en zoon van Jehosadak; houdt moed, gij allen, volk van het land, is de godsspraak van Jahweh! Werkt voort, want Ik blijf met u, is de godsspraak van Jahweh der heirscharen!
Yet nowe be of good courage, O Zerubbabel, sayth the Lord, and be of good comfort, O Iehoshua, sonne of Iehozadak the hie Priest: and be strong, all ye people of the land, sayth the Lord, and doe it: for I am with you, sayth the Lord of hostes,
5 Ik heb u beloofd bij uw uittocht uit Egypte: Mijn geest blijft in uw midden; ge behoeft niet te vrezen!
According to the worde that I couenanted with you, when ye came out of Egypt: so my Spirite shall remaine among you, feare ye not.
6 Want zo spreekt Jahweh der heirscharen: Nog eenmaal, binnen korte tijd, Zal Ik de hemel en aarde beroeren, De zee en het droge;
For thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Yet a litle while, and I will shake the heauens and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land:
7 Ik zal alle volken beroeren, En de schatten van alle volken komen hierheen. Ik zal dit huis met glorie vervullen, Is de godsspraak van Jahweh der heirscharen.
And I will moue all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come, and I will fill this House with glory, sayth the Lord of hostes.
8 Van Mij is het zilver, Van Mij is het goud: Is de godsspraak van Jahweh der heirscharen!
The siluer is mine, and the golde is mine, sayth the Lord of hostes.
9 De glorie van dit tweede huis Zal groter zijn dan die van het eerste, Spreekt Jahweh der heirscharen: In deze plaats zal Ik vrede geven, Is de godsspraak van Jahweh der heirscharen!
The glory of this last House shall be greater then the first, sayth the Lord of hostes: and in this place will I giue peace, sayth the Lord of hostes.
10 Op de vier en twintigste dag van de negende maand, in het tweede jaar van Darius, werd het woord van Jahweh door den profeet Aggeus verkondigd:
In the foure and twentieth day of the ninth moneth, in the second yeere of Darius, came the worde of the Lord vnto the Prophet Haggai, saying,
11 Zo spreekt Jahweh der heirscharen! Vraag aan de priesters een uitspraak:
Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Aske nowe the Priests concerning the Law, and say,
12 Wanneer iemand heilig vlees in de slip van zijn mantel draagt, en met die slip brood, moes, wijn, olie of een andere spijs aanraakt: zal dit dan worden geheiligd? De priesters gaven ten antwoord: Neen!
If one beare holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with his skirt doe touch the bread, or the potage, or the wine, or oyle, or any meate, shall it be holy? And the Priests answered and said, No.
13 Aggeus vervolgde: Maar zo hij zich aan een lijk heeft verontreinigd, en een van die dingen aanraakt: is het dan onrein? De priesters antwoordden: Dan is het onrein!
Then sayde Haggai, If a polluted person touch any of these, shall it be vncleane? And the Priests answered, and sayd, It shalbe vncleane.
14 Toen hernam Aggeus: Zo is het ook met dit volk, zo is het ook met deze natie in hun verhouding tot Mij, is de godsspraak van Jahweh; al wat zij doen, zelfs wat zij offeren, is onrein!
Then answered Haggai, and sayd, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, saith the Lord: and so are all the workes of their hands, and that which they offer here, is vncleane.
15 Welnu, let dan eens op, wat er vóór deze dag is gebeurd, eer de ene steen op de andere gelegd werd in de tempel van Jahweh!
And nowe, I pray you, consider in your mindes: from this day, and afore, euen afore a stone was layde vpon a stone in the Temple of the Lord:
16 Hoe ging het u toen? Dan kwam men bij een korenhoop van twintig maten, en men vond er slechts tien; en men ging naar de perskuip om er vijftig vaten uit te scheppen, en er waren er twintig.
Before these things were, when one came to an heape of twentie measures, there were but ten: when one came to the wine presse for to drawe out fiftie vessels out of the presse, there were but twentie.
17 Ik heb u met brand en meeldauw geslagen, en al uw produkten met hagel; maar ge hebt u niet tot Mij bekeerd, is de godsspraak van Jahweh!
I smote you with blasting, and with mildewe, and with haile, in all the labours of your hands: yet you turned not to me, saith the Lord.
18 Let toch eens op, wat er vóór deze dag is geschied: vóór de vier en twintigste dag van de negende maand, sinds de dag, waarop de grondslag van de tempel van Jahweh gelegd is!
Consider, I pray you, in your mindes, from this day, and afore from the foure and twentieth day of the ninth moneth, euen from the day that the foundation of the Lords Temple was laide: consider it in your mindes.
19 En ziet nu eens toe: Is er nu nog zaad in de schuur? Beginnen de wijnstok en vijg, de granaat en olijf niet te dragen? Van deze dag af zegen Ik u!
Is the seede yet in the barne? as yet the vine, and the figtree, and the pomegranate, and the oliue tree hath not brought forth: from this day will I blesse you.
20 Het woord van Jahweh werd op de vier en twintigste dag van de maand een tweede maal tot Aggeus gericht:
And againe the worde of the Lord came vnto Haggai in the foure and twentieth day of the moneth, saying,
21 Spreek tot Zorobabel, den landvoogd van Juda! Ik zal de hemel en aarde beroeren:
Speake to Zerubbabel the prince of Iudah, and say, I wil shake the heauens and the earth,
22 Koningstronen werp Ik omver, En verniel de kracht der heidense rijken. Ik werp de wagens omver, met die erop rijden; Paarden en ruiters storten neer, De een door het zwaard van den ander!
And I will ouerthrowe the throne of kingdomes, and I wil destroy the strength of the kingdomes of the heathen, and I wil ouerthrowe the charets, and those that ride in them, and the horse and the riders shall come downe, euery one by the sword of his brother.
23 Op die dag, is de godsspraak van Jahweh der heirscharen, Neem Ik u, Zorobabel, zoon van Salatiël, Mijn dienaar, is de godsspraak van Jahweh, En draag u als een zegelring: Want u heb Ik uitverkoren, Is de godsspraak van Jahweh der heirscharen!
In that day, saith the Lord of hostes, will I take thee, O Zerubbabel my seruant, the sonne of Shealtiel, sayth the Lord, and wil make thee as a signet: for I haue chosen thee, sayth the Lord of hostes.
