2 Samuël 7
1 Toen Jahweh den koning rust had verleend van al zijn vijanden in het rond, en de koning zijn paleis had betrokken,
And it was that he dwelt the king in house his and Yahweh he had given rest to him from round about from all enemies his.
2 sprak hij tot Natan den profeet: Zie eens, zelf woon ik in een paleis van cederhout, en de ark van God staat onder tentdoek!
And he said the king to Nathan the prophet see please I [am] dwelling in a house of cedar and [the] ark of God [is] dwelling in [the] midst of the tent curtain.
3 Natan zeide tot den koning: Breng alles ten uitvoer, wat gij van plan zijt; want Jahweh is met u.
And he said Nathan to the king all that [is] in heart your go do for Yahweh [is] with you.
4 Maar in diezelfde nacht werd het woord van Jahweh tot Natan gericht:
And it was in the night that and it came [the] word of Yahweh to Nathan saying.
5 Ga aan mijn dienaar David zeggen: Zo spreekt Jahweh! Wilt ge Mij een huis bouwen, waarin Ik kan wonen?
Go and you will say to servant my to David thus he says Yahweh ¿ you will you build for me a house to dwell in I.
6 Ik heb toch nimmer in een huis gewoond van de dag af, dat Ik de Israëlieten uit Egypte voerde, tot de dag van heden, maar Ik ben rondgetrokken in een tent en tabernakel.
For not I have dwelt in a house from [the] day brought up I [the] people of Israel from Egypt and until the day this and I have been going about in a tent and in a tabernacle.
7 En heb Ik ooit, zolang Ik met alle Israëlieten rondtrok, tot een van de Rechters, die Ik tot leiders aanstelde van Israël, mijn volk, gezegd: Waarom bouwt ge Mij geen huis van cederhout?
In every where I went about among all [the] people of Israel ¿ a word did I speak with one of [the] tribes of Israel whom I commanded to shepherd people my Israel saying why? not have you built for me a house of cedars.
8 Daarom moet ge mijn dienaar David zeggen: Zo spreekt Jahweh der heirscharen! Ik heb u uit de weide gehaald, achter de schapen vandaan, om de leider te zijn van Israël, mijn volk,
And therefore thus you will say to servant my to David thus he says Yahweh of hosts I I took you from the pasture from after the flock to be ruler over people my over Israel.
9 en Ik was met u op al uw tochten, en heb al uw vijanden voor u verdelgd. Welnu, Ik zal u een naam schenken zo groot, als slechts de grootsten der aarde bezitten;
And I have been with you in every where you went and I cut off! all enemies your from before you and I will make for you a name great like [the] name of the great [people] who [are] on the earth.
10 Ik zal een plek vaststellen voor Israël, mijn volk, waar het wortel kan schieten, en waar het kan wonen, zonder ooit meer te worden opgeschrikt of door booswichten verdrukt, zoals in vroegere tijden
And I will appoint a place for people my for Israel and I will plant it and it will dwell in it and not it will be agitated again and not they will repeat sons of injustice to afflict it just as at the former [time].
11 en sinds de dag, dat Ik Rechters heb aangesteld over Israël, mijn volk. En Ik zal zorgen, dat al uw vijanden u met rust zullen laten. Ook kondigt Jahweh u aan, dat Hij u een huis zal bouwen.
And from the day when I appointed judges over people my Israel and I will give rest to you from all enemies your and he tells to you Yahweh that a house he will make for you Yahweh.
12 Wanneer uw dagen ten einde zijn, en gij bij uw vaderen te ruste zult gaan, dan zal Ik het kind, dat van u is uitgegaan, tot uw nazaat verheffen en zijn koningschap bestendig doen zijn.
If - they will be completed days your and you will lie down with ancestors your and I will raise up offspring your after you who he will come out from inward parts your and I will establish kingdom his.
13 Hij zal mijn Naam een tempel bouwen, en Ik zal zijn koningstroon voor altijd bestendigen.
He he will build a house for name my and I will establish [the] throne of kingdom his until perpetuity.
14 Ik zal voor hem een vader zijn, en hij Mij een zoon. Mocht hij verkeerd doen, dan zal Ik hem tuchtigen met stokslagen en plagen, zoals mensen dat doen;
I I will become of him a father and he he will become of me a son who when does wrong he and I will reprove him with a rod of men and with wounds of children of humankind.
15 maar nooit zal Ik hem mijn gunst onthouden, zoals Ik dat gedaan heb met Saul, dien Ik van mijn aanschijn heb verwijderd.
And covenant loyalty my not it will depart from him just as I removed [it] from with Saul whom I removed from to before you.
16 Uw huis en uw koningschap zullen tot in eeuwigheid bestendig zijn voor mijn aanschijn; uw troon zal vast staan voor eeuwig.
And it will be established house your and kingdom your until perpetuity before you throne your it will be established until perpetuity.
17 Toen Natan al deze woorden en openbaringen trouw aan David had overgebracht,
According to all the words these and according to all the vision this so he spoke Nathan to David.
18 ging koning David heen, zette zich voor Jahweh neer en sprak: Wie ben ik, Heer Jahweh, en wat is mijn huis, dat Gij mij tot hiertoe hebt gebracht!
And he went the king David and he sat before Yahweh and he said who? [am] I O Lord Yahweh and who? [is] house my that you have brought me to here.
19 Maar ook dit was nog te gering in uw ogen, Jahweh, mijn Heer. Ook voor de verre toekomst hebt Gij over het huis van uw dienaar gesproken, Jahweh, mijn Heer, en mij, een mens, de toekomstige glorie doen zien.
And it was small yet this [thing] in view your O Lord Yahweh and you have spoken also concerning [the] house of servant your from distant [time] and this [is] [the] manner of humankind O Lord Yahweh.
20 Wat kan David dan nog meer tot U zeggen, tot U, Heer Jahweh, die uw dienaar kent?
And what? will he increase David again to speak to you and you you know servant your O Lord Yahweh.
21 Terwille van uw belofte en naar de neiging uws harten hebt Gij gehandeld, en tevens uw dienaar al die grootheid geopenbaard.
For sake of word your and according to own heart your you have done all the greatness this to make know [it] servant your.
22 Daarom, Heer Jahweh, zijt Gij zo groot! Er is niemand als Gij, en geen God buiten U, juist als onze oren altijd hebben gehoord.
There-fore you are great O Lord Yahweh for there not [is] like you and there not [is] a God except you in all that we have heard with ears our.
23 En wie kan vergeleken worden met Israël, uw volk? Het is het enige volk ter wereld, dat God kwam vrijkopen, om het tot zijn volk te verkiezen, om het beroemd te maken, en om er die grote en opzienbarende dingen voor te wrochten, door volken en goden voor uw volk te verdrijven, dat Gij uit Egypte hebt vrijgekocht.
And who? [is] like people your like Israel a nation one on the earth which they went God to redeem for himself to a people and to make for himself a name and to do for you greatness and awesome [deeds] for land your from before people your which you redeemed for yourself from Egypt nations and gods its.
24 Voor eeuwig hebt Gij Israël, uw volk tot uw volk gemaakt, en zijt Gij, Jahweh, hun God.
And you established for yourself people your Israel - of you to a people until perpetuity and you O Yahweh you have become for them God.
25 Welnu dan, Heer Jahweh, laat voor eeuwig het woord in vervulling gaan, dat Gij over uw dienaar en over zijn huis hebt gesproken, en doe zoals Gij beloofd hebt.
And now O Yahweh God the word which you have spoken on servant your and on house his establish until perpetuity and do just as you have spoken.
26 Dan zal uw Naam groot zijn in eeuwigheid, en zal men zeggen: Jahweh der heirscharen is Israëls God, en het huis van David, uw dienaar, is bestendig voor uw aanschijn.
And it may be great name your until perpetuity saying Yahweh of hosts [is] God over Israel and [the] house of servant your David it will be established before you.
27 Jahweh der heirscharen, Israëls God, zelf hebt Gij het uw dienaar geopenbaard: Ik zal u een huis bouwen! Daarom heeft uw dienaar het aangedurfd, dit smeekgebed tot U te richten.
For you O Yahweh of hosts [the] God of Israel you have uncovered [the] ear of servant your saying a house I will build for you there-fore he has found servant your heart his to pray to you the prayer this.
28 Welnu dan Jahweh, mijn Heer, Gij zijt God en uw woord is waarachtig, en Gij hebt deze weldaad aan uw dienaar beloofd.
And now - O Lord Yahweh you he [are] God and words your they are truth and you have spoken to servant your the good this.
29 Begin dan van nu af het huis van uw dienaar te zegenen, opdat het altijd bestendig zij voor uw aanschijn. Want Gij, Heer Jahweh, hebt gesproken, en met uw zegen zal het huis van uw dienaar gezegend zijn tot in eeuwigheid!
And now be willing and bless [the] house of servant your to be for ever before you for you O Lord Yahweh you have spoken and from blessing your it will be blessed [the] house of servant your for ever.
