2 Samuël 23
1 Hier volgen de laatste woorden van David: Een spreuk van David, den zoon van Jesse; Een spreuk van den held, zo hoog verheven: Den gezalfde van Jakobs God, Den zanger van Israëls psalmen.
And these [are] [the] words of David last [the] utterance of David [the] son of Jesse and [the] utterance of the man [who] he was raised up height [the] [one] anointed of [the] God of Jacob and [the] pleasant [one] of [the] songs of Israel.
2 De geest van Jahweh heeft door mij gesproken, Zijn woord ligt nog op mijn tong;
[the] spirit of Yahweh he has spoken by me and speech his [is] on tongue my.
3 Gesproken heeft de God van Jakob, Tot mij heeft Israëls Rots gezegd: "Wie rechtvaardig de mensen regeert, En heerst in de vreze des Heren;
He said [the] God of Israel to me he spoke [the] rock of Israel [one who] rules over humankind righteous [one who] rules [the] fear of God.
4 Hij is als het morgenlicht bij het stralen der zon Op een wolkenloze morgen; Als de zonneschijn na de regen, Die het groen uit de grond doet ontluiken."
And like [the] light of morning [when] it dawns [the] sun morning not clouds from brightness from rain vegetation from [the] earth.
5 Zo blijft mijn huis bestendig voor God, Want Hij sloot met mij een eeuwig verbond; Onder ieder opzicht vast en verzekerd Is heel mijn geluk, zijn al mijn verlangens.
For not thus [is] house? my with God for a covenant of perpetuity he has made to me arranged in everything and preserved for all salvation my and every desire for not will he make grow?
6 Maar Belialskinderen zal Hij niet doen gedijen, Als doornen werpt men ze allen weg: Men vat ze niet met de hand,
And a worthless person [is] like thorn[s] [which is] chased away all of them for not in a hand people will take.
7 En niemand grijpt ze vast, Tenzij met ijzer en hout, Om ze tenslotte in de vlammen te werpen.
And anyone [who] he will touch them he will arm himself iron and [the] wood of a spear and with fire certainly they will be burned at the dwelling.
8 Hier volgen de namen van Davids helden. Isj-Bósjet uit Chakmon was de aanvoerder van de Drie. Hij zwaaide zijn bijl tegen achthonderd man, die hij in één keer versloeg.
These [are] [the] names of the warriors who [belonged] to David Josheb-Basshebeth a Tahkemonite - [the] chief of the three he Adino (the Eznite *Q(K)*) on eight hundred [one] slain at a time (one. *Q(K)*)
9 Na hem kwam Elazar, de zoon van Dodo, den Achochiet, ook een van de drie helden. Hij bevond zich met David te Pas-Dammim, toen de Filistijnen zich daar verzameld hadden voor de strijd. En toen de Israëlieten voor hen terugtrokken,
(And [was] after him *Q(k)*) Eleazar [the] son of (Dodo *Q(K)*) [the] son of Ahoah among three (the warriors *Q(K)*) with David when defied they the Philistines [who] they were gathered there for battle and they went up [the] man of Israel.
10 sprong hij op, en sloeg de Filistijnen, totdat zijn spieren zo stijf waren, dat hij zijn zwaard niet meer los kon laten. Die dag verleende Jahweh een grote overwinning; het volk sloot zich weer bij hem aan, maar het was toch alleen om te plunderen.
He he arose and he struck down among the Philistines until - for it was weary hand his and it cleaved hand his to the sword and he did Yahweh a deliverance great on the day that and the people they returned after him only to strip.
11 Na hem kwam Sjamma, de zoon van Aga uit Harari. Eens, toen de Filistijnen zich voor de strijd te Lechi verzameld hadden, waar een stuk land was, vol met linzen, was het volk voor de Filistijnen op de vlucht geslagen.
And [was] after him Shamma [the] son of Agee [the] Hararite and they were gathered [the] Philistines to Lehi and it was there [the] portion of the field full of lentils and the people it fled from before [the] Philistines.
12 Maar hij ging midden op het veld staan, en wist het te behouden, door de Filistijnen te verslaan. Zo verleende Jahweh een grote overwinning.
And he took his stand in [the] middle of the portion and he delivered it and he struck down [the] Philistines and he did Yahweh a deliverance great.
13 Een andere keer daalden ze met hun drieën af, en kwamen tegen de oogst bij David in de spelonk van Adoellam, terwijl een bende Filistijnen in de vallei der Refaïeten gelegerd was.
And they went down (three *Q(K)*) from the thirty leader[s] and they came to [the] harvest to David to [the] cave of Adullam and a community of Philistines [was] encamped in [the] valley of [the] Rephaites.
14 David bevond zich toen in de bergvesting, en de Filistijnen hadden Betlehem bezet.
And David then [was] in the stronghold and a garrison of Philistines then [was] Beth-lehem.
15 Toen nu David eens het verlangen te kennen gaf, of iemand hem water te drinken kon geven uit de bron bij de poort van Betlehem,
And he desired David and he said who? will he give to drink me water from [the] well of Beth-lehem which [is] at the gate.
16 drongen de drie helden in de legerplaats van de Filistijnen, putten water uit de bron bij de poort van Betlehem, namen het mee en brachten het bij David. Maar hij wilde het niet drinken, en goot het uit voor Jahweh,
And they broke through [the] three the warriors in [the] camp of [the] Philistines and they drew water from [the] well of Beth-lehem which [was] at the gate and they carried [it] and they brought [it] to David and not he was willing to drink them and he poured out them to Yahweh.
17 terwijl hij uitriep: Bij Jahweh; ik denk er niet aan, zo iets te doen. Dat is het bloed van de mannen, die met gevaar van hun eigen leven er op uit zijn gegaan! Daarom wilde hij het niet drinken. Zulke dingen deden de drie helden.
And he said far be it to me O Yahweh than to do I this [thing] ¿ [the] blood of the men who went with lives their and not he was willing to drink them these [things] they did [the] three the warriors.
18 Abisjai, de broer van Joab en de zoon van Seroeja, was de aanvoerder van de Dertig. Hij zwaaide zijn lans tegen driehonderd man, die hij doodde.
And Abishai [the] brother of - Joab [the] son of Zeruiah he [was] [the] chief (of the three *Q(K)*) and he he wielded spear his on three hundred [one] slain and [belonged] to him a name among the three.
19 Ongetwijfeld was hij beroemder dan de Dertig, zodat hij hun aanvoerder werd; maar tegen de Drie kon hij niet op.
More than the three ¿ for [was he] honored and he became to them a commander and to the three not he came.
20 Benaja, de zoon van Jehojada, was een dapper man uit Kabseël, met een rijke staat van dienst. Hij versloeg de twee zonen van Ariël uit Moab. Ook doodde hij midden in een kuil een leeuw op een dag, dat er sneeuw lag.
And Benaiah [the] son of Jehoiada [was] a son of a man (of strength *Q(K)*) great of deeds from Kabzeel he he struck down [the] two [the] lion-like men of Moab and he he went down and he struck down (the lion *Q(K)*) in [the] midst of the pit on [the] day of the snow.
21 Verder versloeg hij een Egyptenaar, een man van ongewone afmetingen, die met een lans was gewapend; hij ging met een stok op hem af, wrong hem de lans uit de vuist en stak hem met zijn eigen lans dood.
And he he struck down a man Egyptian (a man of *Q(K)*) appearance and [was] in [the] hand of the Egyptian a spear and he went down to him with the staff and he seized the spear from [the] hand of the Egyptian and he killed him with own spear his.
22 Zulke dingen deed Benaja, de zoon van Jehojada!
These [things] he did Benaiah [the] son of Jehoiada and [belonged] to him a name among three the warriors.
23 Daardoor was hij beroemder dan de Dertig, maar tegen de Drie kon hij niet op. Hem stelde David over zijn lijfwacht aan.
More than the thirty [he was] honored and to the three not he came and he appointed him David to bodyguard his.
24 Tot de Dertig behoorden Asaël, de broer van Joab; Elchanan, de zoon van Dodo uit Betlehem;
Asah-el [the] brother of Joab [was] among the thirty Elhanan [the] son of Dodo Beth-lehem.
25 Sjamma uit Charod; Elika uit Charod;
Shammah the Harodite Elika the Harodite.
26 Chéles uit Bet-Pélet; Ira de zoon van Ikkesj uit Tekóa;
Helez the Paltite Ira [the] son of Ikkesh the Tekoite.
27 Abiézer uit Anatot; Meboennai uit Choesja;
Abiezer the Anathothite Mebunnai the Hushathite.
28 Salmon uit Achochi; Maharai uit Netófa;
Zalmon the Ahohite Maharai the Netophathite.
29 Chéleb, de zoon van Baäna uit Netófa; Ittai, de zoon van Ribai uit Géba der Benjamieten;
Heleb [the] son of Baanah the Netophathite. Ittai [the] son of Ribai from Gibeah of [the] descendants of Benjamin.
30 Benajáhoe uit Piraton; Hiddai uit Nachale-Gáasj;
Benaiah [the] Pirathonite Hiddai from [the] wadis of Gaash.
31 Abibáal uit Bet-Arba; Azmáwet uit Bachoerim;
Abi-Albon the Arbathite Azmaveth the Barhumite.
32 Eljachba uit Sjaälbon; Jasjen uit Goen; Jehonatan;
Eliahba the Shaalbonite [the] sons of Jashen Jonathan.
33 Sjamma uit Harar; Achiam, de zoon van Sjarar, uit Harar;
([the] son of *X*) Shammah the Hararite Ahiam [the] son of Sharar the Hararite.
34 Elifélet, de zoon van Achasbai, uit Bet-Maäka; Eliam, de zoon van Achitófel, uit Gilo;
Eliphelet [the] son of Ahasbai [the] son of the Maacathite. Eliam [the] son of Ahithophel the Gilonite.
35 Chesrai uit Karmel; Paärai uit Arbi;
(Hezrai *Q(K)*) the Carmelite Paarai the Arbite.
36 Jigal, de zoon van Natan, uit Soba; Bani uit Gad;
Igal [the] son of Nathan from Zobah. Bani the Gadite.
37 Sélek, de Ammoniet; Nacharai uit Beërot, de wapendrager van Joab, den zoon van Seroeja;
Zelek the Ammonite. Naharai the Beerothite ([the] bearer of *Q(K)*) [the] armor of Joab [the] son of Zeruiah.
38 Ira uit Jéter; Gareb uit Jéter;
Ira the Ithrite Gareb the Ithrite.
39 Oerija de Chittiet. In het geheel waren er dus zeven en dertig.
Uriah the Hittite all [were] thirty and seven.
