2 Samuël 16
1 Toen David even voorbij de top was gekomen, kwam Siba, de dienaar van Mefibósjet, hem tegemoet met een koppel gezadelde ezels, beladen met tweehonderd broden, honderd rozijnenkoeken, honderd zomervruchten en een zak wijn.
And David he passed on a little from the top and there! Ziba [the] servant of Mephi-bosheth to meet him and a pair of donkeys [were] saddled and [were] on them two hundred bread[s] and one hundred bunches of raisins and one hundred summer fruit and a skin of wine.
2 De koning vroeg aan Siba, wat hij daarmee wilde. Siba antwoordde hem: Op de ezels kan het hof van den koning rijden, het brood en de vruchten kunnen de soldaten eten, de wijn kan worden gedronken door hen, die uitgeput raken in de woestijn.
And he said the king to Ziba what? [are] these [things] to you and he said Ziba the donkeys [are] for [the] household of the king to ride (and the bread *Q(K)*) and the summer fruit [are] to eat the young men and the wine [is] to drink the weary [person] in the wilderness.
3 Daarop vroeg de koning: En waar is de zoon van uw meester? Siba antwoordde den koning: Die is in Jerusalem achtergebleven; hij denkt natuurlijk, dat het huis Israël hem nu herstellen zal in het koningschap van zijn vader.
And he said the king and where? [is] [the] son of master your and he said Ziba to the king there! [he is] dwelling in Jerusalem for he said this day they will restore to me [the] house of Israel [the] kingdom of father my.
4 Toen zeide de koning tot Siba: Zo; dan is alles, wat aan Mefibósjet behoort, voor u! Siba antwoordde: Ik betuig u mijn hulde, mijn heer en koning; moge ik genade vinden in uw ogen!
And he said the king to Ziba here! [belongs] to you all that [belonged] to Mephi-bosheth and he said Ziba I bow down may I find favor in view your O lord my the king.
5 Toen koning David Bachoerim bereikt had, kwam iemand van het geslacht van Sauls familie uit die plaats gelopen; hij heette Sjimi, en was een zoon van Gera. Al vloekend kwam hij naar buiten gelopen,
And he came the king David to Bahurim and there! from there a man [was] coming out from [the] clan of [the] house of Saul and name his [was] Shimei [the] son of Gera [he was] coming out continuously and cursing.
6 en gooide met stenen naar David en naar alle dienaren van koning David, hoewel al het volk en heel de keurbende aan zijn rechter- en linkerhand gingen.
And he stoned with stones David and all [the] servants of the king David and all the people and all the warriors [were] from right his and from left his.
7 En dit kregen ze van den vloekenden Sjimi te horen: Eruit, bloedhond; eruit, Belialskind!
And thus he said Shimei when cursed he get out get out O man of blood and O man of worthlessness.
8 Jahweh wreekt op u al het bloed van het huis van Saul, dien ge als koning hebt verdrongen; nu geeft Jahweh het koningschap over aan uw zoon Absalom. Ja, nu zit ge in de ellende, omdat ge een bloedhond zijt!
He has brought back on you Yahweh all - [the] blood of [the] house of Saul whom you have reigned (in place of him *Q(K)*) and he has given Yahweh the kingship in [the] hand of Absalom son your and here you [are] in calamity your for [are] a man of blood you.
9 Toen zeide Abisjai, de zoon van Seroeja, tot den koning: Waarom moet die dode hond mijn heer en koning vloeken? Zal ik er heen gaan, om hem de kop af te slaan?
And he said Abishai [the] son of Zeruiah to the king why? will he curse the dog dead this lord my the king let me pass over please and let me remove head his.
10 Maar de koning sprak: Dat is mijn zaak niet, noch de uwe, zonen van Seroeja! Als hij vloekt, omdat Jahweh hem heeft ingegeven, David te vloeken, wie mag dan zeggen: Waarom doet ge dat?
And he said the king what? [is] to me and to you O sons of Zeruiah (thus *Q(K)*) he is cursing (for *Q(K)*) Yahweh he has said to him curse David and who? will he say why? have you done thus.
11 En David vervolgde tot Abisjai en tot heel zijn hof: Mijn bloedeigen kind staat mij naar het leven, laat staan dan deze Benjamiet! Laat hem maar vloeken; want Jahweh heeft het hem ingegeven.
And he said David to Abishai and to all servants his here! son my who he went out from inward parts my [is] seeking life my and indeed? for now [the] Ben-jaminite leave alone him so he may curse for he has spoken to him Yahweh.
12 Misschien ziet Jahweh neer op mijn ellende, en vergeldt Hij mij die vloek van vandaag met iets goeds.
Perhaps he will look Yahweh (on sin my *Q(K)*) and he will repay Yahweh to me good in place of curse his the day this.
13 En David trok met zijn manschappen verder, terwijl Sjimi op de flank van de berg gelijk met hem op ging, vloekend, met stenen gooiend, en stof opjagend.
And he went David and men his on the road. And Shimei [was] going on [the] side of the mountain parallel with him he went and he cursed and he stoned [them] with stones parallel with him and he dusted [them] with dust.
14 Uitgeput bereikte de koning met heel zijn gevolg de Jordaan, waar hij adem schepte.
And he came the king and all the people which [was] with him exhausted and he refreshed himself there.
15 Intussen was Absalom, vergezeld van Achitófel, met heel Israël te Jerusalem aangekomen.
And Absalom and all the people [the] man of Israel they came Jerusalem and Ahithophel [was] with him.
16 Zodra Choesjai, de Arkiet, de vriend van David, bij Absalom kwam, riep hij Absalom toe: Leve de koning, leve de koning!
And it was just when came Hushai the Arkite [the] friend of David to Absalom and he said Hushai to Absalom may he live the king may he live the king.
17 Absalom vroeg Choesjai: Is dat nu uw trouwe vriendschap? Waarom zijt ge niet met uw vriend meegegaan?
And he said Absalom to Hushai [is] this loyalty your with friend your why? not did you go with friend your.
18 Choesjai gaf Absalom ten antwoord: Neen, ik behoor aan hem, die door Jahweh en dit volk en alle Israëlieten is uitverkoren, en bij hèm blijf ik.
And he said Hushai to Absalom In-deed [the one] whom he has chosen Yahweh and the people this and every man of Israel (to him *Q(K)*) I will belong and with him I will remain.
19 Bovendien, aan wien kan ik beter mijn diensten aanbieden, dan aan zijn zoon? Zoals ik in dienst van uw vader geweest ben, zo wil ik het ook in de uwe zijn.
And the second [thing] whom? I will I serve ¿ not before son his just as I served before father your so I will be (before you. *LAB(h)*)
20 Nu sprak Absalom tot Achitófel: Overlegt met elkaar, wat we moeten doen.
And he said Absalom to Ahithophel give for yourselves counsel what? will we do.
21 En Achitófel gaf Absalom de raad: Begeef u naar de bijvrouwen van uw vader, die hij achtergelaten heeft, om het paleis te bewaken. Als heel Israël verneemt, dat ge u bij uw vader onmogelijk hebt gemaakt, zullen al uw aanhangers moed vatten.
And he said Ahithophel to Absalom go into [the] concubines of father your whom he left to keep the house and it will hear all Israel that you have made yourself odious with father your and they will be strong [the] hands of all who [are] with you.
22 Daarom werd er voor Absalom een tent gespannen op het dak, en begaf Absalom zich ten aanschouwen van heel Israël tot de bijvrouwen van zijn vader.
And they pitched for Absalom the tent on the roof and he went Absalom into [the] concubines of father his to [the] eyes of all Israel.
23 Immers, een raad, die Achitófel gaf, gold in die dagen zoveel, als vroeg men een uitspraak van God; zoveel waarde had elke raad van Achitófel, zowel bij David als bij Absalom.
And [the] counsel of Ahithophel which he counseled in the days those [was] just as (he enquires anyone *Q(K)*) by [the] word of God [was] so all [the] counsel of Ahithophel both to David as well as to Absalom.
