1 Corinthiërs 16
1 Wat de collecte betreft ten bate der heiligen, zo moet ook gij doen, zoals ik het in de kerken van Galátië geregeld heb.
Now, concerning the collection which is for the saints, just as I directed the assemblies of Galatia, so, also do, ye: —
2 Op de eerste dag van iedere week moet ieder van u naar vermogen iets terzijde leggen en opsparen, opdat de collecten niet eerst beginnen, als ik kom.
Upon the first of the week, let, each one of you, put, by itself, in store, as he may be prospering, —lest, as soon as I come, then, collections, should be in progress.
3 Bij mijn komst zal ik dan hen, die gij daarvoor geschikt acht, met brieven naar Jerusalem zenden, om uw liefdegave over te brengen.
And, as soon as I arrive, whomsoever ye shall approve by letters, these, will I send, to bear away your favour unto Jerusalem:
4 Is het de moeite waard, dat ik zelf ga, dan kunnen ze met me mee gaan.
And, if it be meet that, I also, be journeying, with me, shall they journey.
5 Ik zal naar u toe komen, wanneer ik Macedónië door ben. Want Macedónië trek ik slechts door;
Now I will come unto you, as soon as I have passed through Macedonia, —for I do pass through Macedonia,
6 maar bij u zal ik, zo mogelijk, langer vertoeven, misschien wel de winter doorbrengen, zodat gij me kunt uitrusten, wanneer ik verder reis.
And, with you, I may perhaps sojourn, or winter, that, ye, may set me forward, whithersoever I may be journeying.
7 Want ik wil u ditmaal niet in het voorbijgaan bezoeken, maar ik hoop enige tijd bij u te blijven, zo de Heer het toelaat.
For I do not wish to see you, just now, by the way; for I hope to remain, some time, with you, —if, the Lord, permit.
8 Tot Pinksteren zal ik te Éfese blijven;
But I remain in Ephesus, until the Pentecost,
9 want een grote en zware deur staat voor me open, en de tegenstanders zijn velen.
For, a door, unto me, hath opened, great and effectual, and, opposers, are many.
10 Wanneer Timóteus komt, zorgt dan, dat hij zonder vrees bij u kan zijn, want hij verricht ‘s Heren werk, evenals ikzelf.
But, if Timothy should come, see that, without fear, he be with you, for, in the work of the Lord, doth he labour, even as, I:
11 Niemand schiete dus te kort in eerbied voor hem. Doet hem in vrede uitgeleide, opdat hij naar mij heen komt; want ik en de broeders wachten op hem.
Let no one then despise him; and set ye him forward in peace, that he may come unto me, for I expect him with the brethren.
12 Wat broeder Apollo betreft, ik heb hem dringend verzocht, naar u heen te gaan tezamen met de broeders; maar hij heeft volstrekt geweigerd, om thans te vertrekken. Hij zal gaan, wanneer het hem gelegen komt.
But, concerning Apollos the brother, much, did I beseech him, that he would come unto you, with the brethren, but there was, by no means, any will, that he should come, now; —he will come, however, as soon as he hath good opportunity.
13 Weest waakzaam, staat vast in het geloof; blijft mannen, weest kloek.
Be on the watch, stand firm in the faith, be men—be strong;
14 Alles geschiede bij u in liefde.
Let, all your affairs, in love, be carried on.
15 Broeders, ik heb u nog iets te verzoeken. Gij weet, dat de familie van Stéfanas de eersteling van Achaja is, en dat ze zich ten dienste der heiligen hebben gesteld.
Now I beseech you, brethren, —ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is a first-fruit of Achaia, and, for the purpose of ministering, they devoted themselves, unto the saints—
16 Toont ook gij ontzag voor zulke personen, als aan allen, die met hen meewerken en zwoegen,
That, ye also, be submitting yourselves unto such as these, —and unto everyone helping in the work and toiling.
17 Ik verheug me over de aanwezigheid van Stéfanas, Fortunatus en Acháicus; want ze hebben me het gemis van u vergoed,
I Rejoice, moreover, in the presence of Stephanas, and Fortunatus, and Achaicus: because, your own shortcoming, these, have filled up: —
18 en mijn geest verkwikt evenals die van u. Waardeert dus zulke mensen.
They have given rest, in fact, unto my spirit, and yours: hold in acknowledgment, therefore, such as these.
19 De gemeenten van Azië groeten u. Aquila en Priska met heel de gemeente, die in hun huis vergadert, laten u bijzonder groeten in den Heer.
The assemblies of Asia salute you: Aquila and Priscilla, with the assembly meeting at their house, salute you much in the Lord:
20 Alle broeders groeten u. Groet elkander met een heilige kus.
All the brethren salute you: —Salute ye one another with a holy kiss.
21 De groet is van mijn eigen hand: Paulus.

22 Zo iemand den Heer niet liefheeft, hij zij vervloekt. "Marán-Atá".
If anyone doth not dearly love the Lord, let him be anathema [that is, "accursed"]: Maran atha [that is, "The Lord, cometh"].
23 De genade van onzen Heer Jesus zij met u!
The favour of the Lord Jesus, be with you.
24 Mijn liefde is met u allen in Christus Jesus.
My love, be with you all, in Christ Jesus.
