< Mateyo 11 >

1 Nichakaba kuti Jesu wamaninsya kulayilila basikwiya bakwe balikkumi ababili, wakazwa nkukonya oko wakuyisya akukambawuka mumadolopo aabo.
And it came to pass when Jesus finished directing his twelve disciples, he departed from there to teach and preach in their cities.
2 Lino Joni nakamvwa muntolongo atala anchito zya Kkilisito, wakatuma basikwiya bakwe
Now when John heard in the prison the works of the Christ, having sent two of his disciples,
3 ajwi elyo bakati kulinguwe, “Nduwe na ulokuza, na kuti tuchilangilila uumbi?”
he said to him, Are thou he who comes, or do we look for another man?
4 Jesu wakasandula akwamba kulimbabo, “Mwinke mukaambe kuli Joni nzimwabona akumvwa.
And having answered, Jesus said to them, After going, report to John the things that ye hear and see:
5 Bataboni balikutambula kubona, zilema zilenda, balezipele balokusalazigwa, batamvwi balokumvwa lubo, bafwide balokubusigwa lubo kubawumi, amakani mabotu alokukambawukwa kubachete.
the blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised up, and the poor are proclaimed good news.
6 Alubo ngusicholwe kufumbwa utabilizigwi andime.”
And blessed is he, whoever will not be caused to stumble by me.
7 Lino aba bantu nibakeenda munzila yabo Jesu wakatalika kwamba kumakamu atala a Joni, “Mwakayinka kuya kunkanda kuyobonanzi - ityetye lizunganisigwa aguuwo?
And while those men departed, Jesus began to say to the multitudes about John, What did ye go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?
8 Pesi mwakayinka kuya kuyobonanzi - muntu usamide ziteete? Mbukubede, abo basama zisamo ziteetete bakkala mumaanda abami.
But what did ye go out to see? A man clothed in delicate clothes? Behold, those wearing delicate things are in king's houses.
9 Pesi mwakainka kunze kuyobonanzi - musinsimi? Iyi, ndati kulindinywe, akwinda musinsimi.
But what did ye go out to see? A prophet? Yea, I say to you, and more than a prophet.
10 Echi nchenchicho nguchakali kulembeledwe obu. 'Bona, ndinokutuma mutumwa wangu kunembo lyabusyu bwako, uyokubambila nzila kunembo lyako.
For this is he about whom it is written, Behold, I send my agent before thy face who will prepare thy way before thee.
11 “Ndamba kulindinye nkasimpe, takukwe nikwakabukide akati kabaabo bazyalwa abanakazi unga ulaba mupati kwinda Joni mubbabbatizyi. Nekubaboobo, munini muntu mukolondo kubwami bwakujulu mupati kwinda nguwe.
Truly I say to you, among men born of women there has not been raised a greater than John the immerser. Yet the smaller in the kingdom of the heavens is greater than he.
12 Kuzwa kumazuba a Joni mubbabbtizyi kusikila lino, bwami bwakujulubulokufwabisigwa alupyopyongano, lino bantu balupyopyongana balalubweza changuzu.
And from the days of John the immerser until now the kingdom of the heavens is treated aggressively, and aggressors seize it.
13 Mbukunga boonse basinsimi amulawu wakali kusinsima kusikila kuli Joni.
For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.
14 Elyo nawayanda kuzumina kuchitambula, oyu ngu Elija, nguwe wakali kuzosika.
And if ye are willing to receive it, he is Elijah who is going to come.
15 Kuliyoyo ulamatwi akumvwa, ngamvwe.
He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
16 Kuli chili nchindinga ndilayezyanisya azyalane lyasunu? Chili mbuli bana basobana kuchisambalilo, bakkala akwita umwi awumwi,
But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces, calling to their companions,
17 akwamba, 'twakakulizizya muteetele, aboobo tewakazyana pe. Twakayeema, pele tewakalila.
and saying, We piped to you, and ye did not dance, we mourned to you, and ye did not beat the breast.
18 Aboobo Joni wakasika katalyi chinkwa nanka kunywa masansa, elyo bakati, Uladimoni.
For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He has a demon.
19 Mwana amuntu wakasika akulya akunywa elyo bakati, Langa, mwalumi sindya amukolwi, muzolwani abasimutelo abasizibi!' Pesi busongo bulalulamikwa anchito zyakwe.”
The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold the man, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners! And wisdom is justified from her children.
20 Elyo Jesu wakatalika kukalalila madolopo omo mwakachita malele akwe manji, nkambo tebakeempwa.
Then he began to upbraid the cities in which most of his mighty works occurred, because they did not repent.
21 “Maawe kulinduwe, Kkolazini! Mawe kulinduwe, Bbetisayida! Kansinga malele akachitwa ku Taya a Sidoni akachitwa kulindinywe, ninga bakeempwa kale kuchindi chakayinda muzisamo zyamasaka amudyota.
Woe to thee, Chorazin! Woe to thee, Bethsaida! Because if the mighty works that occurred in you occurred in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
22 Pesi kulakuyandika chakwindilila kubuzuba bwalubeta kwinda nduwe.
Nevertheless I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you.
23 Webo, Kapenawumu, uyeeya kuti uzosumpulwa kujulu? Peepe, unoyoyetwa ansi kumulindi utagoli [Hadesi]. Nikwali kuti mu Sodomu mwakachitwa malele akachitwa mulinduwe, ninga mwachili asunu. (Hadēs g86)
And thou, Capernaum, which was exalted as far as the sky. Thou will be brought down as far as Hades, because if the mighty works had occurred in Sodom that occurred in thee, it would have remained until this day. (Hadēs g86)
24 Pele ndati kulinduwe chiyobachubila kunyika ya Sodomu mubuzuba bwalubeta kwinda nduwe.”
Nevertheless I say to you that it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.
25 Kuchindi echo Jesu wakati, “Ndilikutembawula Taata, Mwami, wakujulu anyika, nkambo wasisila basongo abamvwisya, akuyubunwida bana banini:
Jesus having responded at that time, said, I extol thee, O Father, Lord of the heaven and the earth, because thou hid these things from the wise and intelligent, and revealed them to the childlike.
26 Iyii, Taata, Eechi chakalikubotezya kumeso ako.
Yea, Father, because this way it was done pleasing in thy sight.
27 Zintu zyonse zyakapegwa ndime kuzwa kuli Taata. Elyo takwe umwi uzi mwana kunze kwa Taata, mpawo, takwe uzi Taata kunze kwamwana aboobo kuloyo mwana ngwasala kuti amuyubunune.
All things were delivered to me by my Father. And no man knows the Son, except the Father, nor does any man know the Father, except the Son, and he to whomever the Son wants to reveal him.
28 Amuze kulindime, moonse nimukatede animulemenwa ndiyomupa kulyokezya.
Come to me, all ye who labor and have been burdened, and I will give you rest.
29 Amubweze ijokwe lyangu lili alindime akwiiya kulindime, nkambo ndilimubombe akuba mutete moyo, eelyo muyojana kulyokezya kwmyuuya yanu.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, because I am meek and lowly in heart, and ye will find rest for your souls.
30 Nkambo ijokwe lyangu niteete alubo ndiguba amukuli wangu tulemi pe.”
For my yoke is befitting, and my burden is light.
