1 Lino katulangene achindi alimwi azyindi zyamwaka nobakwesu, tamukwe chimunga mulalembulula.
Now concerning the times and seasons, brothers, you have no need for anything to be written to you.
2 Nkambo anywebo lwanu mulizi kabotu kuti bunsi bwaMwami busika mbuli mubbi mansiku.
For you yourselves know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.
3 Elyo nibati,”Lumuno alimwi akubambikana,”mpawo kunyonyoka kwamachampmamo kulobasikila. Kunoli mbuli machise akuzyala kumwanakazi ulaada. takukwe mbubanga balapuzuka.
When people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come upon them suddenly, like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will certainly not escape.
4 Pesi inywe, nobakwesu, tamuli mumudima zyakuti buzuba nga bulamuzida mbuli mubbi.
But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should catch you like a thief.
5 Nkambo nywe moonse muli bana balombe bamumuni alimwi bana balombe babuzuba. Tatuli bana balombe bamansiku naa bamudima.
You are all sons of light and sons of the day; we are not of the night or of the darkness.
6 Nkinkako tatoni mbuli bingi mbubachita. Ani kuti, tusinsimuke akuba changa.
So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us be watchful and sober.
7 Nkambo abo bawona bachita obo mansiku, alimwi abo bakolwa bachita obo mansiku.
For those who sleep, sleep at night; and those who get drunk, get drunk at night.
8 Pesi mbutuli babuzuba, twelede kukkala katuli changa alimwi akuzwata lusyomo aluyando mbuli ntobo, alimwi bulangilizi bwalufutuko bwangwani yesu.
But since we are of the day, let us be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.
9 Nkambo leza takatusalila bukali, pesi kujana lufutuko kwindila muli Mwami Jesu Kkilisito.
For God has not appointed us to suffer wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
10 Nguwe wakatufwida swe kut, nikuba tulalanga na tulona, tukapone amwi anguwe.
who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we may live together with him.
11 Nkinkanko mumbulizyanye umwi awumwi alimwi muyakane, mbuli mbumulokuchita kale.
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, even as you are doing.
12 Tulokumukombelezya chamoyo, nobakwesu kuti muyeye abo babeleka akati kanu alimwi abo balajulu lyanu muMwami alimwi bamulayilila.
Now we ask you, brothers, to recognize those who labor among you, who lead you in the Lord and admonish you,
13 Twamukumbila alubo mubalemeke loko muluyando nkambo kamilimo yabo. Ngamube alumuno akati kanu.
and to regard them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace with one another.
14 Tulamusungwazya, nobakwesu; muchenjezye abo bakandu, musungwazye batyompedwe, mugwasye batete, alimwi mube amoyo mulamfu kulibonse.
And we urge you, brothers, to admonish those who are idle, encourage the fainthearted, support the weak, and be patient toward all.
15 Mubone kuti Takwe naba omwe ubwedezya chibi achibi kuli umwi. Anu kuti, mutobele ezyo zibotu kuli umwi awumwi alimwi kulibonse.
Make sure no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always strive to do good to each other and to everyone else.
16 Mukondwe lyonse.
Rejoice always,
17 Mukombe katakwe kwimikila.
pray without ceasing,
18 Mulizyonse mupe kulumba. Nkambo oku nkukuyanda kwaLeza muli Kkilisito Jesu kulindinywe.
and in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
19 Mutatontozyi Muuya.
Do not quench the Spirit.
20 Mutanyansyi businsimi.
Do not despise prophecies,
21 Musunke zintu zyonse. Mujatilile kuzibotu.
but test everything; hold fast to what is good.
22 Muswene kule kuzwa kububi bwamisyobo yoonse.
Avoid every form of evil.
23 Inche Leza walumuno amusalazye kumaninide. Inche amuuya wanu wonse, moyo, alimwi, mubili zibambwe katakwe mulandu nkambo kwakuboola kwaMwami wesu Jesu Kkilisito.
Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your entire spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Ulisyomekede oyo umwiita, oyo ulozichita lubo.
He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.
25 Nobakwesu, mutukombele aswebo.
Brothers, pray for us.
26 Mujuzye bakwesu a nkisi isalala.
Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss.
27 Ndamulayilila chamoyo wonse kwinda muMwami kuti olu lugwalo lubalwe kubakwesu bonse.
I charge you by the Lord to have this letter read to all the holy brothers.
28 Iluzyalo lwaMwami Jesu Kkilisito lube anywebo.
