1 Ba Kkolinto 10
1 Tandiyandi kuti mutazibi, bakwesu, kuti bamataatesu bakali munsi ajoba alimwi bakayinda mulwiz.
And I do not wish you to be ignorant, brothers, that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea,
2 Boonse bakabbabbatizigwa muli Mozesi mujoba alimwi amulwizi,
and all were immersed into Moses in the cloud, and in the sea;
3 alimwi bonse bakalya chilyo chamuuya chikozyania.
and all ate the same spiritual food,
4 Bonse bakanywa chakunywa chamuuya chikozyania. Nkambo bakanywa kubbwe lyamuuya elyo lyakabatobela, alimwi ibbwe elyo lyakali Kkilisito.
and all drank the same spiritual drink, for they were drinking of a spiritual rock following them, and the rock was the Christ;
5 Pele bonse bakabotelwa abiingi babo, alimwi mitunta yabo yakalisapeene munkanda.
but in the most of them God was not well pleased, for they were strewn in the wilderness,
6 Lino zintu ezi zyakali chitondezyo kuli ndiswe, kuti tutakabi abo bemuuzya zintu zibi mbuli mbubakeemuzya.
and those things became types of us, for our not passionately desiring evil things, as also these desired.
7 Mutabi basikukomba mituni mbuli bamwi babo mbubakabede. Echi chilobu mbuli mbukulembedwe, “Bantu bakakkala aansi kuti balye akunywa, alimwi kunyampuka kuti balisenie.”
Neither become idolaters, as certain of them, as it has been written: “The people sat down to eat and to drink, and stood up to play”;
8 Tutachiti bwamu, mbuli biingi babo mbubakachita, muzuba limwi, zyuulu zyamakumi abili azitatu zyabantu bakafwa nkambo kanchicho.
neither may we commit whoredom, as certain of them committed whoredom, and there fell in one day twenty-three thousand;
9 Tutabiki Kkilisito mukusunkwa, mbuli biingi babo mbubakachita alimwi bakanyonyoonwa anzoka.
neither may we tempt the Christ, as also certain of them tempted, and perished by the serpents;
10 Alimwi mutangunguni, mbuli bingi babo mbubakachita alimwi bakanyonyoonwa amungelo walufu.
neither murmur, as also some of them murmured, and perished by the destroyer.
11 Lino ezi zintu zyakachitika kuli mbabo mbuli chitondezyo kuli ndiswe. Zyakalembelwa kuti lube lulayo kulindiswe - kuli ndiswe abo mamanino achindi ngasikilide. (aiōn g165)
And all these things happened to those persons as types, and they were written for our admonition, to whom the end of the ages came, (aiōn g165)
12 Nkambo kaako kufumbwa ani uyeeya kuti ulimvwi alangisisye kuti atabi nawa.
so that he who is thinking to stand—let him observe, lest he fall.
13 Takwe musunko umusikila atali ayo azibinkene kubantu boonse. Pele, Leza ulisyomekede. Takaoyomuzumizya kuti mukasunkwe zyiinda munguzu anu. Kusunko uyobikka inzila yakulizwa yo, kuchitila kuti mukakonzye kulyiminina.
No temptation has taken you—except that of man; and God is faithful, who will not permit you to be tempted above what you are able, but He will make, with the temptation, also the outlet, for your being able to bear [it].
14 Nkambo kako nobayandwa bangu, amuchije kuzwa kukukkomba mituni.
For this reason, my beloved, flee from the idolatry;
15 Imebo ndiwambula kulindinywe mbuli bantu bali akumvwisisisya, abobo mulakonzya kulangisisya nzindaamba.
as to wise men I speak—judge what I say.
16 Ikanywido kazilongezyo ako nkitulongezya, sena takali kakwabilana mubulowa bwa Kkilisito? Chinkwa nchitukwamuna tachili chakwabilana mumubili wa Kkilisito?
The cup of the blessing that we bless—is it not the fellowship of the blood of the Christ? The bread that we break—is it not the fellowship of the body of the Christ?
17 Nkambo kuli chinkwa chimwi, iswe nituli bingi tuli mubili umwi. Toonse tutola kuchinkwa chimwi antoomwe.
Because one bread, one body, are we the many—for we all partake of the one bread.
18 Langa kubantu bakwa Izilayeli. Tabali abo balya zipayizyo bali achakuchita achipayililo?
See Israel according to the flesh! Are those not eating the sacrifices in the fellowship of the altar?
19 Ndokwambanzi mpo? Kuti chikozyanio nchimwi chintu? Nanka kulya kupayizigwa kuchikozyanio nchimwi chintu?
What do I say then? That an idol is anything? Or that a sacrifice offered to an idol is anything?
20 Pele ndikwamba atala azintu bamaasi nzibapayila, kuti batula zintu ezi kumadimoni kutali kuli Leza. Tandiyandi kuti mube azyakuchita amadimoni!
[No, ] but that the things that the nations sacrifice—they sacrifice to demons and not to God; and I do not wish you to come into the fellowship of the demons.
21 Tamukonzyi kunywa kanywido ka Mwamiakanywido kamadimoni.
You are not able to drink the cup of the LORD and the cup of demons; you are not able to partake of the table of the LORD and of the table of demons;
22 Naa tudyokola Leza kubuzuba? Tulamanguzu na kwinda mbwabede?
do we arouse the LORD to jealousy? Are we stronger than He?
23 “Choonse chintu chilazumizigwa,” pesi tazili zyonse zintu zigwasya. “Chonse chintu chilazumizigwa,” Pele tensi chonse chintu chiyaka bantu.
All things are lawful to me, but not all things are profitable; all things are lawful to me, but not all things build up;
24 Takwe muntu uyelede kuyandula chigwasya nguwe luzutu. Asi, umwi awumwi uyelede kuyandula chigwasya ngwayakilene anguwe.
let no one seek his own—but each another’s.
25 Ulakonzya kulya chonse chuzigwa kuchisambalilo kotabuzyi mibuzyo yakulilya mumizezo.
Eat whatever is sold in the meat-market, not inquiring, because of the conscience,
26 Nkambo nyika nja Mwami alimwi abuzulilo bwayo.”
for the earth and its fullness [are] the LORD’s;
27 Na utasyomi wakutamba kukulya chilyo, alimwikoyanda kwinka, lya kufumbwa chabikwa kunembo lyako kotabuzyi mibuzyo yakulilya mumizezo.
and if anyone of the unbelieving calls you, and you wish to go, eat all that is set before you, inquiring nothing, because of the conscience;
28 Pele na umwi wamba kuti kulinduwe, “Echi chatuulwa kuchipayizyo,” elyo utachilyi. Kuchitila yooyo wakwambila webo, alimwi akambo kamiyeeyo yakulilya -
and if anyone may say to you, “This is a thing sacrificed to an idol,” do not eat, because of that one who showed [it], and of the conscience, for the LORD’s [is] the earth and its fullness:
29 Amwi mabbuku achindi alamalembe achi Giliki alayungizya aya, nkambo nyika azyonse zintu zilimumo nzya Mwami. Pele mabbuku ayinda achindi amalembe achi Giliki tajisi ezi pe. Bingi basichikolo babona kuyungizya mbuli kwindulula munchali. Kulilya kwawumwi muntu, ndikwamba, alimwi chitali chako. Ino nkambonzi kulyendelela kwangu nikubetekwa akulilya kwawumwi?
and conscience, I say, not of yourself, but of the other, for why [is it] that my liberty is judged by another’s conscience?
30 Na ndalya chilyo amoyo usalala, nkambonzi imebo nentukililwa echo nchindapeda kulumba?
And if I partake thankfully, why am I spoken of [as] evil, for that for which I give thanks?
31 Nkambo kako, naa walya kana kunywa, kana kufumbwa nchochita, kochita zyonse kuti kube bulemu kuli Leza.
Whether, then, you eat, or drink, or do anything, do all to the glory of God;
32 Utajapi mulandu kuba Juda akuba Giliki, nikuba kumbungano ya Leza.
become offenseless, both to Jews and Greeks, and to the Assembly of God;
33 Munzila ikozyenie ndeezya kubotezya bantu boonse muzintu zyonse. Tandiyanduli zindigwasyalwangu, pele ezyo zyabiingi. Ndilachita echi kuti antela bayinofutuka.
as I also please all in all things, not seeking my own profit, but that of many—that they may be saved.
