< Tito 1 >

1 An Paulo, ma jatich Nyasaye kendo ma jaote Yesu Kristo ema andikonu baruwani. Nyasaye ne oora mondo ajiw yie mar joma Nyasaye oyiero obed motegno, kendo mondo apuonjgi adiera mamiyo giluoro Nyasaye,
Paul, a bondservant of God and an Apostle of Jesus Christ for building up the faith of God's own people and spreading a full knowledge of the truths of religion,
2 kuom geno yudo ngima mochwere, mane Nyasaye, ma ok riambi osesingore chon ni nomiwa. (aiōnios g166)
in hope of the Life of the Ages which God, who is never false to His word, promised before the commencement of the Ages. (aiōnios g166)
3 Nyasaye ma Jawarwa ema nohulo wachne malongʼo e ndalo mane en owuon oketo, kendo nogolo chik ni an ema onego miya tich mar lando wachneno.
And at the appointed time He clearly made known His Message in the preaching with which I was entrusted by the command of God our Saviour:
4 Ne Tito, wuoda mar adier kuom yie moriwowa e achiel: Ngʼwono gi kwe moa kuom Nyasaye Wuoro kod Kristo Yesu ma Jawarwa obed kodi.
To Titus my own true child in our common faith. May grace and peace be granted to you from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Saviour.
5 Gima omiyo ne aweyi Krete ne en ni mondo irie gik moko mane odongʼ kapok atieko, kendo mondo iyier jodong kanisa e dala ka dala, kaka ne achiki ni itim.
I have left you behind in Crete in order that you may set right the things which still require attention, and appoint Elders in every town, as I directed you to do;
6 Jaduongʼ kanisa nyaka bed ngʼat ma wach moro amora marach onge kuome, kendo ngʼatno man-gi dhako achiel, ngʼat ma nyithinde oyie kendo ma ok nyal kwan kaka nyithindo maricho kendo ma wigi tek.
wherever there is a man of blameless life, true to his one wife, having children who are themselves believers and are free from every reproach of profligacy or of stubborn self-will.
7 Nikech jatend kanyakla mar jo-Kristo en ngʼat marito tich Nyasaye, omiyo nyaka obed ngʼat ma wach moro amora marach onge kuome. Kik obed ngʼat mamiyo kanyakla mar joma oyie tingʼ mapek. Bende kik obed ngʼat mochayo ji kata ma ja-mirima, kata ngʼat mamer gi kongʼo, kata ngʼat mohero dhawo, kata ngʼat moyudo mwandu e yor mibadhi.
For, as God's steward, a minister must be of blameless life, not over-fond of having his own way, not a man of a passionate temper nor a hard drinker, not given to blows nor greedy of gain,
8 To nyaka obed ngʼat mohero rwako welo, mohero gigo mabeyo, ngʼat ma terore mos, ma ja-ratiro, moluoro Nyasaye; kendo mawinjo puonj.
but hospitable to strangers, a lover of goodness, sober-minded, upright, saintly, self-controlled;
9 Nyaka omak motegno puonj migeno, mana kaka osepuonje e kinde motelo, mondo eka ojiw joma moko gi puonj madier kendo okwer joma kwedo puonjno.
holding fast to the faithful Message which he has received, so that he may be well qualified both to encourage others with sound teaching and to reply successfully to opponents.
10 Nikech nitie ji mangʼeny ma jongʼanyo, ma gin mana jothor wach kendo jowuond ji, to moloyo jogo moter nyangu ma gin jo-Yahudi moyie.
For there are many that spurn authority--idle, talkative and deceitful persons, who, for the most part, are adherents of the Circumcision.
11 Jogi nyaka kwer mondo olingʼ, nikech giketho mier mangʼeny ka gipuonjo gik ma ok owinjore gipuonji; kendo gitimo kamano mana mondo giyudie ohala ma ok nikare.
You must stop the mouths of such men, for they overthrow the faith of whole families, teaching what they ought not, just for the sake of making money.
12 Kata mana janabi moro ma margi owuon osewacho niya, “Jo-Krete riambo kinde duto, gin ondiegi malich ma timbegi richo kendo gin jowuoro ma budho abudha.”
One of their own number--a Prophet who is a countryman of theirs--has said, "Cretans are always liars, dangerous animals, idle gluttons."
13 Wach janabigino en adier. Omiyo kwergi matek mondo eka gibed gi yie mar adier,
This testimony is true. Therefore sternly denounce them, that they may be robust in their faith,
14 kendo mondo kik gichik itgi ni sigendini mag jo-Yahudi kata ni chike mag joma odagi adiera.
and not give attention to Jewish legends and the maxims of men who turn their backs on the truth.
15 Gik moko duto ler mana ni jomaler, to kuom joma okethore ma ok oyie to onge gima ler. Chutho, pachgi kaachiel gi chunygi monego onyisgi kethogi osetho.
To the pure everything is pure; but to the polluted and unbelieving nothing is pure, but on the contrary their very minds and consciences are polluted.
16 Giwacho ni gingʼeyo Nyasaye to gikwedo Nyasaye nogo gi timbegi manono. Gin acheje ma wigi tek kendo ok ginyal timo gimoro amora maber.
They profess to know God; but in their actions they disown Him, and are detestable and disobedient men, and for any good work are utterly useless.
