1 Kuom jatend wer. Mar Jeduthun. Zaburi mar Daudi. Chunya yudo yweyo kuom Nyasaye kende; warruok aa kuome.
To the Chief Musician. On Jeduthun—A Melody of David. Surely, towards God, silence [becometh] my soul, From him, is my salvation:
2 En kende ema en lwandana kendo warruokna; en e ohingana, onge gima biro bwoga.
Surely, he, is my rock and my salvation, My high tower—I shall not be greatly shaken!
3 Ubiro siko kumonjo ngʼat achielni nyaka karangʼo? Angʼo momiyo uduto unywakone mondo ugoye piny? En ngʼat machalo mana gi chiel mayiengni madwaro mukore.
How long will ye shout at a man? Ye shall be crushed all of you, —Like a wall that bulgeth, —a fence pushed in!
4 Giramo ni nyaka to gigole oko kama entie e duongʼne; miriambo ema morogi. Dhogi gigwedhogo ji, to gi ei chunygi to gikwongʼo ji. (Sela)
Surely, from his elevation, they have taken counsel to thrust him down, They accept falsehood, —With his mouth, they each of them bless, But, inwardly, they revile. (Selah)
5 Yud yweyo, yaye chunya, kuom Nyasaye kende; genona aa mana kuome.
Surely, towards God, be thou silent, my soul, For, from him, is mine expectation:
6 En kende ema en lwandana kendo warruokna; en e ohingana; onge gima biro bwoga.
Surely, he, is my rock, and my salvation, My high tower—I shall not be shaken!
7 Warruok mara gi luor ma ayudo aa kuom Nyasaye; en e lwandana manyalo duto, en e kar pondona.
Upon God, [depend] my salvation and mine honour, My rock of strength, my refuge, are in God.
8 Un ji, genuru kuome kinde duto; olneuru oko gik manie chunyu, nikech Nyasaye e kar pondo marwa. (Sela)
Trust ye in him all ye assembly of the people, Pour out, before him, your heart, God, is a refuge for us. (Selah)
9 Joma nipiny gin mana muya nono; joma ni malo gin mana miriambo; ka opimgi e ratil, to gin nono; gin duto gin mana muya nono.
Surely, vanity, are men of low degree, Deception, men of high degree, —In the balances, they go up, They, are [made] of vanity, altogether.
10 Kik igen kuom mwandu moma ji kata isungri kuom gik mokwal; kata bed ni mwandugi medore to kik iket chunyi kuomgi.
Do not trust in extortion, Nor, with robbery, become vain, As for wealth, when it beareth fruit, Do not set [thereon your] heart.
11 Nitie gimoro achiel ma Nyasaye osewacho, chutho nitie gik moko ariyo ma asewinjo gi ita: ni in, yaye Nyasaye, in ratego,
One thing, hath God spoken, Two things, [there are] which I have heard, That, power, belongeth unto God;
12 kendo ni in, yaye Ruoth Nyasaye, ihero ji. Kuom adier, ibiro chiwo pok ne ngʼato ka ngʼato kaluwore gi gima osetimo.
And, thine, O My Lord, is lovingkindness, —For, thou, wilt pay back unto every man—according to his deed.
