1 Kuom jatend wer. Maskil mar Daudi. Kane noyudo Doeg ja-Edom nosedhi ir Saulo kendo onyise niya, “Daudi osedhi e od Ahimelek.” Angʼo momiyo isungori kuom tim marach, yaye ngʼat maratego? Angʼo momiyo isungori odiechiengʼ duto, in ma in gir wichkuot e nyim Nyasaye?
“To the chief musician, a Maskil of David, When Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him, David is come to the house of Achimelech.” What vauntest thou thyself of wickedness, O mighty man? the kindness of God endureth all the time.
2 Ichano timbe midwaro wuondogo ji, lewi bende chano gik modwaro hinyogo ji; kendo lewino chalo gi wembe mabith.
Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs, like a sharpened razor, thou worker of deceit.
3 Ihero rach moloyo ber, miriambo mitni moloyo wacho adiera. (Sela)
Thou lovest evil more than good; falsehood more than speaking righteousness. (Selah)
4 Ihero weche duto machwanyo ji, yaye in lep mohero wuondni!
Thou lovest all words of destruction, the tongue of deceit.
5 To Nyasaye biro tieli piny matieki chuth nyaka chiengʼ; obiro yudhi mi oyiechi oko e hembi; obiro pudhi mi ogoli e piny joma ngima. (Sela)
[Therefore] God will also destroy thee for ever: he will take thee away, and pluck thee out of his tent, and root thee out of the land of life. (Selah)
6 Joma kare biro neno mano mi gibed maluor; gibiro nyiere kagiwacho ni,
And the righteous shall see it, and they will be afraid, and laugh concerning him:
7 “Koro neyeuru ngʼatno, mane ok okawo Nyasaye obedo kar pondo mare, to nogeno mana kuom mwandune mathoth kendo notieko joma moko mondo eka omed bedo gi teko!”
“Lo, this is the man that made not God his fortress; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, relied proudly on his mischievous wickedness.”
8 An to achalo yiend zeituni madongo maber e od Nyasaye; ageno kuom (hera) ma ok rem mar Nyasaye manyaka chiengʼ.
But I am like a green olive-tree in the house of God: I trust in the kindness of God for ever and ever.
9 Abiro paki nyaka chiengʼ kuom gima isetimo; abiro paki e nyim jogi maler. Abiro keto geno mara kuom nyingi, nikech nyingi ber.
I will thank thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name, for [it is] good, before thy pious ones.
