1 Kuom jatend wer. Zaburi mar Daudi. Kane janabi Nathan obiro ire bangʼ ka Daudi noseterore gi Bathsheba. Kecha, yaye Nyasaye, kaluwore gi herani ma ok rem; gol kethona duto oko kuom ngʼwononi maduongʼ.
To the Chief Musician. A Melody of David. When Nathan the Prophet had come to him, after he had gone in unto Bath-sheba. Be favorable unto me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness, And, in the multitude of thy compassions, blot out my transgressions;
2 Luok rochruokna duto oko kendo pwodha kuom richona.
Thoroughly wash me from mine iniquity, And, from my sin, make me pure;
3 Nikech angʼeyo kethona duto kendo richona osiko e nyima.
For, my transgressions, do, I, acknowledge, And, my sin, is before me continually:
4 In iwuon ema asekethoni kendo asetimo richo e nyim wangʼi, mano omiyo in kare ka iwuoyo kendo iwacho adiera ka ingʼadona bura.
Against thee—against thee alone, have I sinned, And, wickedness—in thine eyes, have I done, —That thou mayest, Be justified when thou speakest, —Be clear when thou judgest.
5 En adier chutho ni nonywola e richo asebedo ka an jaricho chakre chiengʼ mane minwa omake ichna.
Lo! in iniquity, was I brought forth, And, in sin, did my mother conceive me.
6 Adier, idwaro ni dhano obed ja-adiera gie chunye iye emomiyo ipuonja rieko gie chunya maiye mogik.
Lo! faithfulness, hast thou desired in the inward parts, Yea, in the hidden part, wilt thou cause me to know, wisdom.
7 Lwoka maler gi owino eka abiro bedo maler; lwoka mondo abed marachar moloyo pe.
Wilt thou cleanse me from sin with hyssop, That I may be pure? Wilt thou wash me, That I may be whiter, than snow?
8 We awinjie mor kod ilo; mi chokena misetoyo ochak obedie mamor.
Wilt thou cause me to hear joy and gladness? The bones thou hast crushed would exult.
9 Pand wangʼi mondo kik ine richona kendo gol kethona duto oko.
Hide thy face from my sins, —And, all mine iniquities, blot out;
10 Chwe chuny maler e iya, yaye Nyasaye, kendo los chuny motegno mosiko koluori iket e iya.
A pure heart, create for me, O God, And, a steadfast spirit, renew within me.
11 Kik iriemba buti bende kik igol Roho Maler mari kuoma.
Do not cast me away from thy presence, And, thy Holy Spirit, do not take from me:
12 Duogna mor ma warruokni kelo kendo mi abed gi chuny mohero timo dwaroni, mondo chuny makamano orita.
Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation, And, with a willing spirit, wilt thou uphold me: —
13 Eka abiro puonjo joketho yoreni kendo joricho biro lokore duogo iri.
I would teach transgressors thy ways, And, sinners, unto thee, should return.
14 Resa e ketho mar chwero remo, yaye Nyasaye, tim kamano, yaye Nyasaye ma wara, eka lewa biro wer kuom timni makare.
Rescue me from shed-blood, O God, the God of my salvation, My tongue should shout thy righteousness;
15 Yaye Ruoth yaw pien dhoga, eka dhoga biro hulo pakni.
O My Lord! my lips, wilt thou open, And, my mouth, shall declare thy praise.
16 Ok imor gi misango mitimoni, nikech dine achiwonigo; misango miwangʼo pep ok miyi mor.
For thou wilt not desire sacrifice—that I should give it, Ascending-offering, will not please:
17 Misango mar Nyasaye en chuny motur, chuny motur kendo mamuol, ok itamri, yaye Nyasaye.
The sacrifices of God, are a spirit that is broken, —A heart—broken and crushed, O God, thou wilt not despise.
18 Mi Sayun odhi maber kuom herani; chak iger ohinga mag Jerusalem kendo.
Do good, in thy good-pleasure, unto Zion, Wilt thou build the walls of Jerusalem!
19 Eka ibiro yudo mor kuom misengni mag joma kare, kuom misango miwangʼo pep mochiw duto, kendo ibiro chiw rwedhi e kendoni mar misango.
Then, shalt thou desire the sacrifices of righteousness, Ascending-sacrifice and whole burnt-offering, Then, shall ascend upon thine altar, young bulls.
