1 Kuom jatend wer. Zaburi mar yawuot Kora. Winjuru wachni, un ji duto: chikuru itu, un duto mudak e pinyni,
[For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by the sons of Korah.] Hear this, all you peoples. Listen, all you inhabitants of the world,
2 un joma odhier kod joma idew, jo-mwandu gi jodhier machalre:
both low and high, rich and poor together.
3 Dhoga biro wacho weche mag rieko, weche moa e chunya biro miyo ji winjo tiend weche.
My mouth will speak words of wisdom. My heart shall utter understanding.
4 Abiro chiko ita ne ngero moro; abiro nyiso tiend midhiero mara ka agoyo nyatitina:
I will incline my ear to a proverb. I will open my riddle on the harp.
5 En ngʼa monego aluor ka ndalo mag richo obiro, ka jo-miriambo ma timbegi richo olwora.
Why should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of those who deceive me surrounds me?
6 Joma oketo genogi kuom mwandu kendo masungore kuom mwandugi mathoth?
They trust in their wealth, and boast in the multitude of their riches.
7 Onge ngʼama nyalo waro ngima nyawadgi kata manyalo chulo Nyasaye nengo moromo ware.
Truly these cannot redeem a person, nor give to God a ransom for him.
8 Nikech yor waro dhano tek ahinya, maonge nengo madichul marom,
For the redemption of their life is costly, no payment is ever enough,
9 ma dimi odag nyaka chiengʼ kendo kik odhi e liel.
that he should live on forever, that he should not see corruption.
10 Nikech ongʼere ne ji duto ni joma riek tho, mana kaka joma ofuwo gi joma omingʼ, bende tho mi giwe mwandu ne joma moko.
For he sees that wise men die; likewise the fool and the senseless perish, and leave their wealth to others.
11 Lietegi ema biro siko kaka utegi nyaka chiengʼ kendo ema gibiro dakie higni gi higni ma ok rum, kata obedo ni negimako lope mathoth koni gi koni.
Their tombs are their homes forever, and their dwelling places to all generations. They name their lands after themselves.
12 To ongʼere ni dhano ok siki e piny, kata obed gi mwandu mathoth machal nade, to otho mana kaka le bende tho.
But man, despite his riches, doesn't endure. He is like the animals that perish.
13 Mano e gima biro timore ne joma ogenore kendgi giwegi, kendo ne joma luwogi, moluwo wechegi. (Sela)
This is the destiny of those who are foolish, and of those who approve their sayings. (Selah)
14 Gichomo liete mokuny nigi mana kaka rombe kendo tho biro lokogi chiembe. Joma ngimagi oriere tir biro loyogi ka piny oru, to dendgi biro towo e liete, ka gin mabor gi utegi madongo machalo ute ruodhi. (Sheol h7585)
They are appointed as a flock for Sheol. Death shall be their shepherd. The upright shall have dominion over them in the morning. Their beauty shall decay in Sheol, far from their mansion. (Sheol h7585)
15 Anto Nyasaye biro reso chunya mi ogola e liel adier, obiro kawa mi odhi koda ire. (Sela) (Sheol h7585)
But God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol, for he will receive me. (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
16 Kik chunyi thagre ka ngʼato mwandune medore, kata ka duongʼ mar ode medore;
Do not be afraid when a man is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased.
17 nikech onge gima obiro kawo odhigo ka otho, duongʼ ma en-go ok bi dhi kode e liel,
For when he dies he shall carry nothing away. His glory shall not descend after him.
18 kata obedo ni ne okawore kaka ngʼama ogwedhi kane pod ongima nikech ji nyaka paki ka mwanduni medore,
Though while he lived he blessed his soul—and men praise you when you do well for yourself?
19 to obiro dhi mi oriwre gi tiengʼ machon mar kwerene, ma ok nyal neno ler mar wangʼ chiengʼ kendo.
he shall go to the generation of his fathers. They shall never see the light.
20 Ngʼat man-gi mwandu mathoth to onge winjo, chalo gi le ma otho.
A man who has riches without understanding, is like the animals that perish.
