< Zaburi 39 >

1 Kuom jatend wer. Ne Jeduthun. Zaburi mar Daudi. Ne awacho niya, “Abiro ritora e yorena, kendo abiro rito lewa kik wach richo; abiro tweyo dhoga gi tol kinde duto ma joma timbegi richo ni buta.”
For the chief musician, for Jeduthun. A psalm of David. I decided, “I will watch what I say so that I do not sin with my tongue. I will muzzle my mouth while in the presence of an evil man.”
2 To e seche mane ok awuo kendo alingʼ mos, kane ok awach gimoro amora maber, pek manie chunya nomedore.
I kept silent; I kept back my words even from saying anything good, and my pain grew worse.
3 Chunya nodoko maliet e iya kendo kane amedo paro matut, to nomedo bedo malit; eka ne atingʼo dhoga mi awuoyo:
My heart became hot; when I thought about these things, it burned like a fire. Then finally I spoke.
4 Yaye Jehova Nyasaye, nyisa giko mar ngimana bende nyisa kar romb ndalona; mondo abed ka angʼeyo ni ndalona kadho piyo.
“Yahweh, make me know when will be the end of my life and the extent of my days. Show me how transient I am.
5 Iseketo ndalona obedo machiek ka bad dhano; kar romb higni maga ok gimoro e nyimi, ngima dhano ka dhano en mana muya nono. (Sela)
See, you have made my days only the width of my hand, and my lifetime is like nothing before you. Surely every man is a single breath. (Selah)
6 Dhano en mana tipo makadho kata ka owuotho koni gi koni, orikni gi tijene mapile kayiem; ochoko mwandu mathoth ka ok ongʼeyo ngʼama obiro weyonegi.
Surely every man walks about like a shadow. Surely everyone hurries about to accumulate riches although they do not know who will receive them.
7 To koro, yaye Ruoth, en angʼo ma amanyo? Genona aketo kuomi.
Now, Lord, for what am I waiting? You are my only hope.
8 Resa kuom ketho maga duto; kik imi abedi ngʼama joma ofuwo jaro.
Rescue me from my sins; do not make me the reproach of fools.
9 Ne alingʼ alingʼa, kendo ne ok anyal yawo dhoga mondo awuo, nikech in ema isetimo ma.
I am silent and cannot open my mouth, because it is you who has done it.
10 Gol chwat ma isechwadago oko; goch ma lweti goyago ohinga.
Stop wounding me; I am overwhelmed by the blow of your hand.
11 Ikwero ji kikumogi nikech richogi; itieko mwandugi mana kaka thuth tieko oduma, dhano ka dhano en mana muya nono. (Sela)
When you discipline people for sin, you consume the things they desire like a moth; surely all people are nothing but vapor. (Selah)
12 Winj lamona, yaye Jehova Nyasaye, chik iti ni lamona ma adwarogo kony; kik idin iti ne ywakna, nikech adak kodi mana ka japiny moro, an mana wendo kaka kwerena duto ne gin.
Hear my prayer, Yahweh, and listen to me; listen to my weeping! Do not be deaf to me, for I am like a foreigner with you, a refugee like all my ancestors were.
13 We ngʼiya, mondo achak abed moil kendo kapok adar aweyo pinyni mi alal e wangʼ ji.
Turn your gaze from me so that I may smile again before I die.”
