< Ngeche 8 >
1 Donge rieko luongo? Donge ngʼeyo tiend wach tingʼo dwonde ka goyo koko?
You shall proclaim wisdom, that understanding may be obedient to you.
2 Ochungʼ e kuonde motingʼore e bath yo, e akerkeke mag yore.
For she is on lofty eminences, and stands in the midst of the ways.
3 Oywak matek e bath dhorangeye midonjogo e dala maduongʼ,
For she sits by the gates of princes, and sings in the entrances, [saying],
4 kowacho niya, “Aluongou, yaye un ji, aluongou un ji duto manie piny.
You, O men, I exhort; and utter my voice to the sons of men.
5 Un joma ngʼeyogi tin, nwangʼuru rieko; to un joma ofuwo, nwangʼuru ngʼeyo.
O you simple, understand subtlety, and you that are untaught, imbibe knowledge.
6 Winjuru, nikech an gi gik mabeyo mangʼeny madwaro nyisou; ayawo dhoga mondo awach gima kare.
Listen to me; for I will speak solemn [truths]; and will produce right [sayings] from my lips.
7 Dhoga wacho gima adiera nikech dhoga kwedo gik maricho.
For my throat shall meditate truth; and false lips are an abomination before me.
8 Weche duto mawuok e dhoga gin kare, onge moro kuomgi mobam kata modwanyore.
All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing in them wrong or perverse.
9 Ne jogo mongʼeyo pogo tiend wach, gigi duto nikare, giber ni jogo man-gi ngʼeyo.
They are all evident to those that understand, and right to those that find knowledge.
10 Yier puonjna kar fedha kendo ngʼeyo kar dhahabu mowal,
Receive instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than tried gold.
11 nikech rieko ber moloyo kite ma nengogi tek, kendo gimoro amora madiher ok nyal romo kode.
For wisdom is better than precious stones; and no valuable substance is of equal worth with it.
12 “An, rieko, wadak kaachiel gi ngʼado bura makare; an-gi ngʼeyo kod pogo tiend wach.
I wisdom have lived [with] counsel and knowledge, and I have called upon understanding.
13 Luoro Jehova Nyasaye en sin gi richo; amon gi sunga kod ngʼayi, timbe maricho kod wuoyo mochido.
The fear of the Lord hates unrighteousness, and insolence, and pride, and the ways of wicked men; and I hate the perverse ways of bad men.
14 Ngʼado rieko kod ngʼado bura malongʼo gin maga; an-gi winjo tiend wach kod nyalo.
Counsel and safety are mine; prudence is mine, and strength is mine.
15 An ema amiyo ruodhi locho kendo joloch loso chike makare.
By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.
16 Nikech an, amiyo yawuot ruodhi loch kod joka ruodhi duto marito pinje.
By me nobles become great, and monarchs by me rule over the earth.
17 Ahero jogo mohera, to jogo ma manya yuda.
I love those that love me; and they that seek me shall find [me].
18 Mwandu gi luor ni kuoma, mwandu mochwere kod mewo.
Wealth and glory belong to me; yes, abundant possessions and righteousness.
19 Olemba ber moloyo dhahabu maber, gino machiwo oloyo fedha moyier.
[It is] better to have my fruit than [to have] gold and precious stones; and my produce is better than choice silver.
20 Awuotho e yo mobidhore makare, e yore mag bura makare,
I walk in ways of righteousness, and [am] conversant with the paths of judgement;
21 kachiwo mwandu ni jogo mohera kendo amiyo kuondegi mag keno bedo mopongʼ chutho.
that I may divide substance to them that love me, and may fill their treasures with good things. If I declare to you the things that daily happen, I will remember [also] to recount the things of old.
22 “Jehova Nyasaye nokwongo chweya kaka tichne mokwongo motelo ni tijene machon.
The Lord made me the beginning of his ways for his works.
23 Noyiera aa chakruok manyaka chiengʼ, kapok piny kobetie.
He established me before time [was] in the beginning, before he made the earth:
24 Kapok nembe kobetie, nonywola kata ka sokni mopongʼ gi pi ne onge.
even before he made the depths; before the fountains of water came forth:
25 Nonywola ka gode madongo ne pok obedo kuonde ma gintie, bende ka gode matindo ne pod onge,
before the mountains were settled, and before all hills, he begets me.
26 kapok ne ochweyo piny kaachiel gi pewene kata mana lowo mar piny.
The Lord made countries and uninhabited [tracks], and the highest inhabited parts of the world.
27 Ne antie kane oketo polo kama entie, kata kane oketo giko mar nembe,
When he prepared the heaven, I was present with him; and when he prepared his throne upon the winds:
28 kane oketo boche polo malo, kendo kane oketo sokni mag nembe mogurore motegno,
and when he strengthened the clouds above; and when he secured the fountains of the earth:
29 kane ochiwo kuonde giko mag nam matin mondo pi kik okadh kama oketee, kendo kane oloso mise mar piny.
decree. and when he strengthened the foundations of the earth:
30 Ne an jatich molony mobedo bute. Napongʼ gi mor mogundho odiechiengʼ ka odiechiengʼ kamor e nyime kinde duto,
I was by him, suiting [myself to him], I was that wherein he took delight; and daily I rejoiced in his presence continually.
31 ka amor e pinye mangima kendo ail gi ji duto.
For he rejoiced when he had completed the world, and rejoiced amongst the children of men.
32 “Omiyo koro yawuota, winjauru; gin johawi jogo morito yorena.
Now then, [my] son, hear me: blessed is the man who shall listen to me, and the mortal who shall keep my ways;
33 Winjuru puonjna mondo ubed mariek, kik uchagi.
[Hear wisdom and be wise, and be not strangers to it. ]
34 En jahawi ngʼat mawinja, marito pile e dhoutena korito e dhorangaya.
watching daily at my doors, waiting at the posts of my entrances.
35 Nimar ngʼat monwangʼa oyudo ngima kendo oyudo ngʼwono kuom Jehova Nyasaye.
For my outgoings are the outgoings of life, and [in them] is prepared favour from the Lord.
36 To ngʼatno ma odaga hinyore kende owuon; jogo duto mamon koda ohero tho.”
But they that sin against me act wickedly against their own souls: and they that hate me love death.
