< Ngeche 30 >
1 Magi e weche mag Agur wuod Jake, ma gin weche matut. Magi e weche ma Agur wachone Ithiel; adier owuoyo ne Ithiel niya, “Aol marumo, yaye Nyasaye, to pod anyalo wuoyo.
These things says the man to them that trust in God; and I cease.
2 Chutho afuwo ahinya ma ok awinjora bedo dhano; ok an kod ngʼeyo tiend wach mar dhano.
For I am the most simple of all men, and there is not in me the wisdom of men.
3 Ok asepuonjora rieko, kata ngʼeyo mar Nyasaye, ma en Jal Maler Moloyo, bende aongego.
God has taught me wisdom, and I know the knowledge of the holy.
4 En ngʼa mosedhi e polo kendo olor piny? En ngʼa mosechoko yamo moketo ei lwete? En ngʼa mosechoko pi gi lawe kata mosepimo giko mar tungʼ piny? Nyinge to en ngʼa, koso wuode to nyinge ngʼa? Nyisa ane ka ingʼeyo!
Who has gone up to heaven, and come down? who has gathered the winds in his bosom? who has wrapped up the waters in a garment? who has dominion of all the ends of the earth? what is his name? or what is the name of his children?
5 “Wach ka wach moa kuom Nyasaye en adier; Nyasaye en okumba ne jogo mopondo kuome.
For all the words of God are tried in the fire, and he defends those that reverence him.
6 Kik imed gimoro e wachne, to nono obiro kwedi mi onyis ni in ja-miriambo.
Add not to his words, lest he reprove you, and you be made a liar.
7 “Gik moko ariyo makwayi; yaye Jehova Nyasaye; kik itama biro buti kapok atho.
Two things I ask of you; take not favour from me before I die.
8 Mi wuond gi miriambo obed mabor koda; kik imiya chan kata mwandu, to miya mana chiemba mapile.
Remove far from me vanity and falsehood: and give me not wealth [or] poverty; but appoint me what is needful and sufficient:
9 Nimar, ka ok kamano, to anyalo bedo gi mwandu mangʼeny mi akwedi ka awacho ni, ‘Jehova Nyasaye to en ngʼa?’ Kata anyalo bedo jachan mi akwel, mi ami nying Nyasacha wichkuot.
lest I be filled and become false, and say, Who sees me? or be poor and steal, and swear [vainly] by the name of God.
10 “Kik iwuo marach kuom jatich ne ngʼat mondike nono to obiro kwongʼi, mi iyud chandruok.
Deliver not a servant into the hands of his master, lest he curse you, and you be utterly destroyed.
11 “Nitie jogo makwongʼo wuonegi kendo ok gwedh minegi;
A wicked generation curse their father, and do not bless their mother.
12 jogo ma paro giwegi ni giler to ok osepwodhgi kuom kethruokgi;
A wicked generation judge themselves to be just, but do not cleanse their way.
13 jogo ma wangʼ-gi tek masungore, manenogi richo;
A wicked generation have lofty eyes, and exalt themselves with their eyelids.
14 joma lekegi chalo gi ligangla kendo nyipongʼ lekegi chalo pelni mabitho, mar chamo jochan manie piny, kod joma odhier manie dier ji.
A wicked generation have swords [for] teeth and jaw teeth [as] knives, so as to destroy and devour the lowly from the earth, and the poor of them from amongst men.
15 “Chwe nigi nyiri ariyo. Giywak ni, ‘Miwa! Miwa!’ “Nitie gik moko adek ma ok rom ngangʼ! Angʼwen ma ok wach ni, ‘Oromo!’
The horse-leech had three dearly beloved daughters: and these three did not satisfy her; and the fourth was not contented so as to say, Enough.
16 Gin liel, ich ma ok onywol, lowo ma pi ok rom, kata mach ma ok wach ni, ‘Oromo!’ (Sheol )
The grave, and the love of a woman, and the earth not filled with water; water also and fire will not say, It is enough. (Sheol )
17 “Wangʼ ma jaro wuoro, ma dagi winjo wach miyo, ibiro lodho oko kod agak manie holo, ibiro chamgi gi achudhe.
The eye that laughs to scorn a father, and dishonours the old age of a mother, let the ravens of the valleys pick it out, and let the young eagles devour it.
18 “Nitie gik moko adek mamiya awuoro ahinya, angʼwen ma ok anyal ngʼeyo tiendgi.
Moreover there are three things impossible for me to comprehend, and the fourth I know not:
19 Yor ongo e kor polo, yor thuol e kor lwanda, yor yie ei nam mogingore kod yor ngʼama wuowi gi nyako.
the track of a flying eagle; and the ways of a serpent on a rock; and the paths of a ship passing through the sea; and the ways of a man in youth.
20 “Ma e yor dhako ma jachode: Ochiemo to bangʼe oyweyo dhoge, mi owach ni, ‘Ok asetimo gimoro marach.’
Such is the way of an adulterous woman, who having washed herself from what she has done, says she has done nothing amiss.
21 “Nitie gik moko adek mateto piny, to kuom gik moko angʼwen piny ok nyal yiego:
By three thing the earth is troubled, and the fourth it can’t bear:
22 misumba modoko ruodh piny, kata ngʼat mofuwo mochiemo moyiengʼ,
if a servant reign; or a fool be filled with food;
23 moro en dhako ma ok oher to okende eka mogik jatich ma nyako ma omayo dhako mondike dichwo.
or if a maidservant should cast out her own mistress; and if a hateful woman should marry a good man.
24 “Gik moko angʼwen matindo ni e piny, to kata kamano giriek moloyo.
And [there are] four very little things upon the earth, but these are wiser than the wise:
25 Biye gin chwech ma tekregi tin, to kata kamano gikano chiembgi e ndalo oro;
the ants which are weak, and [yet] prepare [their] food in summer;
26 aidha bende gin le man-gi teko matin, to giloso gondgi e kind kite,
the rabbits also [are] a feeble race, who make their houses in the rocks.
27 kata bonyo onge ruodhgi, to ka giringo gidhiyo nyime kaachiel ka gichanore ka ogend lweny.
The locusts have no king, and [yet] march orderly at one command.
28 Kamano olele bende inyalo mako gi lwedo, to iyude kodak e ute ruoth.
And the eft, which supports itself by [its] hands, and is easily taken, dwells in the fortresses of kings.
29 “Nitie gik moko adek ma wuodhgi lich ka irango, chutho angʼwen maringo malich miwuoro.
And there are three things which go well, and a fourth which passes along finely.
30 Sibuor, en ratego moloyo kuom le duto, kendo onge gimoro moluoro,
A lion's whelp, stronger than [all other] beasts, which turns not away, nor fears [any] beast;
31 thuon gweno magar ka dwaro gwere gi wadgi, nywok, kod ruoth gi oganda mar lweny moluoro bute.
and a cock walking in boldly amongst the hens, and the goat leading the herd; and a king publicly speaking before a nation.
32 “Ka isetimo tim fuwo ma imiyori duongʼ kendi, kata ka isechano richo, to um dhogi gi lweti!
If you abandon yourself to mirth, and stretch forth your hand in a quarrel, you shall be disgraced.
33 Mana kaka puoyo chak kelo mo, kendo goyo um chwero remo, e kaka jiwo kecho kelo lweny.”
Milk out milk, and there shall be butter, and if you wing [one's] nostrils there shall come out blood: so if you extort words, there will come forth quarrels and strifes.
