< Ngeche 28 >

1 Jaricho ringo kaonge ngʼama lawe, to joma kare jochir ka sibuor.
The wicked flee when no man pursues: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
2 Ka piny toke tek, to en gi jotelo mangʼeny, to ngʼat mawinjo wach kendo man-gi ngʼeyo rito chik.
For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged.
3 Jatelo mahinyo jochan chalo kaka kodh oula maywero cham oko.
A poor man that oppresses the poor is like a sweeping rain which leaves no food.
4 Jogo ma ok rit chik pako ngʼat marach, to jogo marito chik dagi jogo maricho.
They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them.
5 Jomaricho ok ongʼeyo adiera, to jogo madwaro Jehova Nyasaye ongʼeyo adiera chutho.
Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.
6 Ber ngʼat ma jachan ma wuodhe ok cha, moloyo ngʼat ma ja-mwandu ma yorene richo.
Better is the poor that walks in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich.
7 Ngʼat marito chik en wuowi mariek, to bedo osiep jawuoro kelo wichkuot ne wuon mare.
Whoever keeps the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous men shames his father.
8 Ngʼat mamedo mwandu gi ohala ma malangʼ choko mwandu ne ngʼat machielo, mabiro bedo mangʼwon gi jochan.
He that by usury and unjust gain increases his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.
9 Ka ngʼato odino ite ne chik, kata mana lemone bende richo.
He that turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
10 Ngʼat matero ngʼat moriere tir e yo mar richo biro podho e obetone owuon, to ngʼat ma ok cha biro yudo pok maber.
Whoever causes the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: but the upright shall have good things in possession.
11 Jamoko nyalo paro owuon ni oriek, to jachan man-gi paro matut neno gik manie chuny jamokono.
The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor that has understanding searches him out.
12 Ka ngʼat makare oloyo, nitie mor maduongʼ, to ka ngʼat marach omi teko mondo otel, ji ringo dhiyo kar pondo.
When righteous men do rejoice, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden.
13 Ngʼat mapando richone ok dhi maber, to ngʼat ma hulo richone kendo oweyogi yudo ngʼwono.
He that covers his sins shall not prosper: but whoever confesses and forsakes them shall have mercy.
14 En ngʼama ogwedhi ngʼat moluoro Jehova Nyasaye kinde duto, to ngʼatno ma chunye tek donjo e chandruok.
Happy is the man that fears always: but he that hardens his heart shall fall into mischief.
15 Kaka sibuor maruto kata ondiek madwaro kecho e kaka ngʼat marach motelone joma ok nyal.
As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.
16 Ruoth ma jasunga onge gi rieko, to ngʼatno mamon gi gik moyud e yo marach biro dak amingʼa.
The prince that wants understanding is also a great oppressor: but he that hates covetousness shall prolong his days.
17 Ngʼat moneko chunye chandore enobed gi kuyo nyaka otho; omiyo kik ngʼato konye.
A man that does violence to the blood of any person shall flee to the pit; let no man stay him.
18 Ngʼatno ma ja-adiera ibiro rito maonge hinyruok, to ngʼatno ma yorene richo biro podho apoya nono.
Whoever walks uprightly shall be saved: but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.
19 Ngʼat matiyo e puothe biro bedo gi chiemo mogundho, to ngʼat mabayo abaya biro bedo jachan mochwere.
He that tills his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that follows after vain persons shall have poverty enough.
20 Ngʼat ma ja-adiera ibiro gwedho mangʼeny, to ngʼat madwaro gi teko bedo ja-mwandu ok notony ma ok okume.
A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that makes haste to be rich shall not be innocent.
21 Dok ne ngʼato kayiem ka oketho ok ber, to ngʼato biro timo marach mana ni mondo oyud asoya matin.
To have respect of persons is not good: for for a piece of bread that man will transgress.
22 Ngʼat ma iye lit dwaro ahinya ni mondo obed gi mwandu to ok ongʼeyo ni chan orite.
He that hastens to be rich has an evil eye, and considers not that poverty shall come on him.
23 Ngʼatno makwero ngʼato gikone obiro yudo pwoch mangʼeny moloyo ngʼatno man-gi lep mawuondo.
He that rebukes a man afterwards shall find more favor than he that flatters with the tongue.
24 Ngʼat mamayo wuon mare kata min, to owacho niya, “Timo kamano ok rach,” ochal gi ngʼat maketho gimoro.
Whoever robs his father or his mother, and says, It is no transgression; the same is the companion of a destroyer.
25 Ngʼat ma jawuoro thoro kelo miero, to ngʼat mogeno kuom Jehova Nyasaye biro dhiyo maber.
He that is of a proud heart stirs up strife: but he that puts his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.
26 Ngʼat moketo genone kuome owuon ofuwo, to ngʼatno mawuotho e rieko, oritore maonge hinyruok.
He that trusts in his own heart is a fool: but whoever walks wisely, he shall be delivered.
27 Ngʼat mamiyo jochan ok nochand gimoro, to ngʼat ma gengʼo wangʼe ne jochan noyud kwongʼ mangʼeny.
He that gives to the poor shall not lack: but he that hides his eyes shall have many a curse.
28 Ka jaricho oketi e teko mondo otel, ji dhiyo kar pondo; to ka jaricho otho joma kare dhiyo nyime.
When the wicked rise, men hide themselves: but when they perish, the righteous increase.
