< Ngeche 21 >
1 Chuny ruoth ni e lwet Jehova Nyasaye, ochike mana kaka kuonde ma pi luwo kendo kaka ohero owuon.
The king's heart is in the LORD's hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires.
2 Yore duto mag dhano nenorene ni nikare, to Jehova Nyasaye ema pimo chuny.
Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the LORD weighs the hearts.
3 Timo gima kare kod mowinjore ema Jehova Nyasaye oyiego moloyo misango.
To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.
4 Wangʼ teko, chuny mar sunga kod taya mar jo-mahundu, gin richo!
A high look, and a proud heart, the lamp of the wicked, is sin.

Getting treasures by a lying tongue is a fleeting vapor for those who seek death.
7 Timbe mahundu mar joricho biro terogi mabor magilal; nimar gidagi timo gima kare.
The violence of the wicked will drive them away, because they refuse to do what is right.
8 Yor ngʼat ma jaketho ogondore, to kit ngʼat makare oriere tir.
The way of the guilty is devious, but the conduct of the innocent is upright.
9 Ber dak e kona mar wi ot moloyo dak gi dhako maralep.
It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, than to share a house with a contentious woman.
10 Ngʼat ma timbene richo ohero richo; jabute ok yud ngʼwono kuome.
The soul of the wicked desires evil; his neighbor finds no mercy in his eyes.
11 Ka okum ngʼat ma jaro ji, to joma ngʼeyogi tin yudo rieko, ka ngʼat mariek opuonji, to oyudo ngʼeyo.
When the mocker is punished, the simple gains wisdom. When the wise is instructed, he receives knowledge.
12 Ngʼat Makare ongʼeyo od ngʼat ma timbene richo kendo otero ngʼat marach e kethruok.
The Righteous One considers the house of the wicked, and brings the wicked to ruin.
13 Ka ngʼato odino ite ne ywak mar jachan, en owuon bende obiro ywak to ok nodwoke.
Whoever stops his ears at the cry of the poor, he will also cry out, but shall not be heard.
14 Mich mochiw lingʼ-lingʼ kweyo mirima to asoya mopandi ei law jiwo mirima maduongʼ.
A gift in secret pacifies anger; and a bribe in the cloak, strong wrath.
15 Ka adiera onenore, to joma timbegi nikare bedo mamor to joma timbegi richo to yudo bwok.
It is joy to the righteous to do justice; but it is a destruction to evildoers.
16 Ngʼat moweyo yor winjo wach dhiyo kar yweyo mar oganda mar joma otho.
The man who wanders out of the way of understanding shall rest in the assembly of the dead.
17 Ngʼat mohero budho biro bedo jachan; ngʼat mohero divai kod moo ok nyal bedo ja-mwandu.
He who loves pleasure shall be a poor man. He who loves wine and oil shall not be rich.
18 Jomaricho bedo resruok mar joma kare; to jogo ma ok jo-adiera ne joma oriere tir.
The wicked is a ransom for the righteous; the treacherous for the upright.
19 Ber dak e thim motwo moloyo dak gi dhako ma jadhawo kendo ma ja-mirima.
It is better to dwell in a desert land, than with a contentious and fretful woman.
20 Od ngʼat mariek opongʼ kod chiemo gi moo moyier, to ngʼat mofuwo chamo gik moko duto ma en-go.
There is precious treasure and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man swallows it up.

He who follows after righteousness and kindness finds life, righteousness, and honor.

Whoever guards his mouth and his tongue keeps his soul from troubles.
24 Ngʼat ma jasunga kendo jawuorre “Jajaro” e nyinge; otingʼore malo ka osungore malich.
The proud and haughty man, "scoffer" is his name; he works in the arrogance of pride.
25 Dwaro mar jasamuoyo biro bedo thone owuon; nikech lwetene odagi tich.
The desire of the sluggard kills him, for his hands refuse to labor.
26 Odiechiengʼ duto odwaro mangʼeny, to ngʼat makare chiwo maonge giko.
There are those who covet greedily all day long; but the righteous give and do not withhold.
27 Misango mar jaricho ok ber, onyalo bedo marach maromo nade ka ochiwe gi paro marach!
The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination: how much more, when he brings it with a wicked mind.
28 Janeno ma ja-miriambo biro lal; to ngʼat mawinje ibiro tieko chutho.
A false witness will perish, and a man who listens speaks to eternity.
29 Ngʼat ma jaricho wangʼe tek to ngʼat moriere tir tiyo gi paro e yorene.
A wicked man hardens his face; but as for the upright, he establishes his ways.
30 Onge rieko, onge neno matut, onge chenro manyalo loyo Jehova Nyasaye.
There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.
31 Inyalo yiko faras ne ndalo mar lweny; to loyo lweny en mar Jehova Nyasaye.
The horse is prepared for the day of battle; but victory is with the LORD.
