1 Dwoko wach mamuol kweyo mirima, to wach makwiny jimbo ich wangʼ.
A soft answer turneth away fury; but a grievous word stirreth up anger.
2 Lew ngʼat mariek konyore gi rieko, to dho ngʼat mofuwo hulo gik mofuwo.
The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright; but the mouth of the foolish poureth out folly.
3 Wenge Jehova Nyasaye ni kuonde duto, karito joricho gi joma beyo.
The eyes of Jehovah are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.
4 Lep makelo ber en yath mar ngima, to lep mar miriambo omiyo chuny bedo mool.
Gentleness of tongue is a tree of life; but crookedness therein is a breaking of the spirit.
5 Ngʼat mofuwo chayo kum mar wuon mare, to ngʼat mawinjo ka ikwere nyiso rieko.
A fool despiseth his father's instruction; but he that regardeth reproof becometh prudent.
6 Od ngʼat makare otingʼo mwandu maduongʼ, to pok mar joricho kelo nigi chandruok.
In the house of a righteous [man] is much treasure; but in the revenue of a wicked [man] is disturbance.
7 Dho jomariek lando ngʼeyo, to ngʼat mofuwo to wechene obam.
The lips of the wise disperse knowledge, but not so the heart of the foolish.
8 Jehova Nyasaye odagi misango mar jaricho, to lamo mar ngʼat moriere tir miye mor.
The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to Jehovah; but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
9 Jehova Nyasaye odagi yore ngʼat marach, to ohero jogo matimo gik makare.
The way of a wicked [man] is an abomination to Jehovah; but him that pursueth righteousness he loveth.
10 Kum malit orito ngʼat maweyo yo, ngʼat masin kikwere biro tho.
Grievous correction is for him that forsaketh the path; he that hateth reproof shall die.
11 Jehova Nyasaye ongʼeyo gik moko matimore, bed ni en Tho kata Kethruok, omiyo dhano ok dipandne paro manie chunye! (Sheol h7585)
Sheol and destruction are before Jehovah; how much more then the hearts of the children of men! (Sheol h7585)
12 Ngʼat ma jasunga dagi puonj, ok odwar mondo ongʼadne rieko gi jomariek.
A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him; he will not go unto the wise.
13 Chuny mamor miyo wangʼ bedo gi mor, to chuny mokuyo miyo dhano bedo mool.
A joyful heart maketh a cheerful countenance; but by sorrow of heart the spirit is broken.
14 Chuny mongʼeyo pogo tiend weche dwaro ngʼeyo, to dho ngʼat mofuwo chamo fuwo.
The heart of an intelligent [man] seeketh knowledge; but the mouth of the foolish feedeth on folly.
15 Ndalo duto mag ngʼat mahinyore gin thagruok, to chuny mamor ni kod mor mosiko.
All the days of the afflicted are evil; but a cheerful heart is a continual feast.
16 Ber bedo gi matin ka iluoro Jehova Nyasaye moloyo mwandu mangʼeny kod koko.
Better is little with the fear of Jehovah than great store and disquietude therewith.
17 Ber chamo alot kama hera nitie, moloyo chamo ringʼo machwe kama achaya nitie.
Better is a meal of herbs where love is, than a fatted ox and hatred therewith.
18 Ngʼat ma iye wangʼ piyo medo miero, to ngʼat ma terore mos kweyo dhawo.
A furious man stirreth up contention; but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.
19 Yor jasamuoyo olor gi kuthe, to yor ngʼat moriere tir en yo malach.
The way of the sluggard is as a hedge of thorns; but the path of the upright is made plain.
20 Wuowi mariek miyo wuon mare mor, to ngʼat mofuwo chayo min mare.
A wise son maketh a glad father; but a foolish man despiseth his mother.
21 Fuwo moro ngʼat maonge gi rieko, to ngʼat man-gi winjo wuotho moriere tir.
Folly is joy to him that is void of sense; but a man of understanding regulateth his walk.
22 Chenro ok chopi nikech onge puonj makare, to ka giyudo jongʼad rieko mangʼeny to gichopo.
Without counsel purposes are disappointed; but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.
23 Ngʼato yudo mor e dwoko mowinjore, to mano ber manade kuom wach mochopo e sa midware.
A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth; and a word in its season, how good is it!
24 Yor ngima telo kadhi malo ni ngʼat makare, mondo ogengʼe kik odhi mwalo kar tho. (Sheol h7585)
The path of life is upwards for the wise, that he may depart from Sheol beneath. (Sheol h7585)
25 Jehova Nyasaye muko od ngʼat masungore, to orito kiep dhako ma chwore otho ma ok omul.
Jehovah plucketh up the house of the proud; but he establisheth the boundary of the widow.
26 Jehova Nyasaye odagi paro mar joricho, to jogo ma chunygi ler miye mor.
The thoughts of the evil [man] are an abomination to Jehovah; but pure words are pleasant.
27 Ngʼat ma jawuoro kelo chandruok ne joode, to ngʼatno mamon gi asoya biro dak amingʼa.
He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.
28 Chuny ngʼat makare pimo dwokoge, to dho ngʼat ma timbene richo hulo gik maricho.
The heart of a righteous [man] studieth to answer; but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.
29 Jehova Nyasaye bor gi ngʼat ma timbene richo, to owinjo lamo mar ngʼat makare.
Jehovah is far from the wicked; but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.
30 Neno mamor kelo mor ni chuny, to wach maber miyo choke bedo gi ngima.
That which enlighteneth the eyes rejoiceth the heart; good tidings make the bones fat.
31 Ngʼat machiko ite kikwere biro bedo thuolo e kind joma riek.
The ear that heareth the reproof of life shall abide among the wise.
32 Ngʼat ma ok dew kum ochayore owuon, to ngʼat mawinjo kikwere medo winjo wach.
He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul; but he that heareth reproof getteth sense.
33 Luoro Jehova Nyasaye puonjo dhano rieko, to bedo mamuol kelo luor.
The fear of Jehovah is the discipline of wisdom, and before honour [goeth] humility.
