Whoever loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof [is] brutish.
2 Ngʼat maber yudo pwoch kuom Jehova Nyasaye, to Jehova Nyasaye kwero ngʼat ma timbene richo.
A good [man] obtaineth favor from the LORD: but a man of wicked devices he will condemn.
3 Ngʼato ok nyal gerore motegno kuom richo, to ngʼat makare ok nyal pudhi.
A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.

A virtuous woman [is] a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed [is] as rottenness in his bones.
5 Chenro mar ngʼat makare nikare, to puonj mar joricho en wuondruok.
The thoughts of the righteous [are] right: [but] the counsels of the wicked [are] deceit.

A righteous [man] regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked [are] cruel.
11 Ngʼat matiyo e puothe biro bedo gi chiemo mogundho, to ngʼat mabayo abaya onge gi rieko.
He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain [persons is] void of understanding.

A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of [his] mouth: and the recompense of a man's hands shall be rendered to him.
15 Yor ngʼat mofuwo nenorene ni nikare, to ngʼat makare chiko ite ne puonj.
The way of a fool [is] right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth to counsel [is] wise.
16 Ngʼat mofuwo nyiso mirimbe mapiyo, to ngʼat mariek mwonyo ayany.
A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent [man] covereth shame.
17 Janeno ma ja-adiera chiwo neno mobidhore, to janeno ma hango wach wacho miriambo.
[He that] speaketh truth showeth forth righteousness: but a false witness, deceit.
18 Weche mag muomruok chwoyo chuny mana kaka ligangla, to lew ngʼat mariek kelo ngima.
There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise [is] health.

The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue [is] but for a moment.
20 Wuond ni e chuny jogo machano timo marach, to mor en mar jogo mohero kwe.
Deceit [is] in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counselors of peace [is] joy.
21 Onge gima rach manyalo biro ni ngʼat makare; to joricho ni kod thagruok mathoth.
There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.
22 Jehova Nyasaye mon kod dhok mariambo, to omor gi jogo ma jo-adiera.
Lying lips [are] abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly [are] his delight.

A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.
24 Tich matek miyo ngʼato bedo gi duongʼ, to nyawo gikone en tich mar misumba.
The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.
25 Chuny maparore miyo ngʼato bedo mool, to wach mamuol jiwe.
Heaviness in the heart of man depresseth it: but a good word maketh it glad.
26 Ngʼat makare dak gi osiepene e yo mowinjore, to yor ngʼat marach terogi kama rach.
The righteous [is] more excellent than his neighbor: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.
27 Jasamuoyo ok nyal yudo dwarone, to jakinda maratego ongʼeyo ber gige.
The slothful [man] roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man [is] precious.
28 Yo makare nitie gi ngima, e yorno nitie ngima mochwere.
In the way of righteousness [is] life; and [in] the path [of it there is] no death.
