Riches don’t profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.
5 Tim makare mar joma kare maonge ketho loso yoregi moriere, to joricho podho nikech richogi.
The righteousness of the blameless will direct his way, but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
6 Tim makare mar joma kare resogi, to jogo ma ok jo-adiera imako gi gombogi maricho.
The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them, but the unfaithful will be trapped by evil desires.
7 Ka jaricho otho, to genone duto tho kode, gigo duto mane ogeno kuom tekone bedo nono.
When a wicked man dies, hope perishes, and expectation of power comes to nothing.
8 Ngʼat makare ireso kuom chandruok, to chandruok biro mana ni jaricho.
A upright person is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked takes his place.
9 Ngʼat ma ok ja-Nyasaye hinyo jabathe gi dhoge owuon, to rieko miyo ngʼat makare tony.
With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor, but the upright will be delivered through knowledge.
10 Ka ngʼat makare mewo, dala maduongʼ bedo mamor, ka joricho otho, to nitie koko mar mor.
When it goes well with the upright, the city rejoices. When the wicked perish, there is shouting.
11 Gweth mar joma kare kelo pak ne dala, to kuom dho joricho dala kethore.
By the blessing of the upright, the city is exalted, but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
12 Ngʼat maonge gi rieko jaro jabathe, to ngʼat man-gi winjo rito lewe.
One who despises his neighbor is void of wisdom, but a man of understanding holds his peace.

One who brings gossip betrays a confidence, but one who is of a trustworthy spirit is one who keeps a secret.

Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is victory.

The man of cheshed ·loving-kindness· does good to his own soul, but he who is cruel troubles his own flesh.
18 Jaricho yudo ohala mar miriambo, to ngʼat machwoyo gima kare kayo pok mar adiera.
Wicked people earn deceitful wages, but one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.
19 Ngʼat man-gi tim makare kendo ma ja-adiera nobed mangima, to ngʼat maluwo richo dhiyo e thone.
He who is truly upright gets life. He who pursues evil gets death.
20 Jehova Nyasaye odagi jogo ma chunygi opongʼ gi richo, to omor gi jogo ma yoregi ler.
Those who are perverse in heart are an abomination to Adonai, but those whose ways are blameless are his delight.
21 Bed ka ingʼeyo ni jaricho ok notony ma ok okume, to jogo makare nobed thuolo.
Most certainly, the evil man will not be unpunished, but the offspring of the upright will be delivered.
22 Mana ka tere mar dhahabu manie um anguro, e kaka dhako ma jaber maonge rieko chalo.
Like a gold ring in a pig’s snout, is a beautiful woman who lacks discretion.
23 Dwaro mar joma kare gik mana e ber kende, to geno mar joricho gik mana e mirima.
The desire of the upright is only good. The expectation of the wicked is wrath.

There is one who scatters, and increases yet more. There is one who withholds more than is appropriate, but gains poverty.

The liberal soul shall be made fat. He who waters shall be watered also himself.

People curse someone who withholds grain, but blessing will be on the head of him who sells it.

He who diligently seeks good seeks favor, but he who searches after evil, it shall come to him.

He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the upright shall flourish as the green leaf.
29 Ngʼatno makelo chandruok ni joge ok nonwangʼ gimoro, to ngʼat mofuwo nobed misumba ngʼat mariek.
He who troubles his own house shall inherit the wind. The foolish shall be servant to the wise of heart.
30 Olemb joma kare en yadh ngima, to ngʼatno ma reso chunje riek.
The fruit of the upright is a tree of life. He who is wise wins souls.
31 Ka joma kare yudo pokgi e piny, to joma ok oluoro Nyasaye gi joricho diyud mangʼeny maromo nadi!
Behold, the upright are paid what they deserve here on earth; how much more the wicked and the sinner!
