1 Chiengʼ mokwongo mar dwe mar ariyo e higa mar ariyo Jehova Nyasaye nowuoyo gi Musa e Hemb Romo e Thim mar Sinai ka jo-Israel nosewuok Misri. Nowachone niya,
And YHWH speaks to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the Tent of Meeting, on the first of the second month, in the second year of their going out of the land of Egypt, saying,
2 “Kaw kwan dhout oganda mar jo-Israel duto kaluwore gi gwengegi kod anywolagi, kindiko nying joma chwo duto moro ka moro.
“Take a census of all the congregation of the sons of Israel by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names—every male by their counted heads;
3 In kod Harun mondo ukwan jo-Israel kuketogi e migepegi, ma mago jo-higni piero ariyo kadhi nyime nyalo tiyo e lweny.
from a son of twenty years and upward, everyone going out to the host in Israel, you number them by their hosts, you and Aaron;
4 Kaw ngʼato achiel koa e dhoot ka dhoot, ka moro ka moro otelo ne jog-gi mondo okonyi kweno.
and with you there is a man for a tribe, each is a head of the house of his fathers.
5 “Magi e nying joma chwo mabiro konyi kweno: “koa kuom joka Reuben, kaw Elizur wuod Shedeur;
And these [are] the names of the men who stand with you: for Reuben, Elizur son of Shedeur;
6 koa kuom joka Simeon, kaw Shelumiel wuod Zurishadai;
for Simeon, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai;
7 koa kuom joka Juda, kaw Nashon wuod Aminadab;
for Judah, Nahshon son of Amminadab;
8 koa kuom joka Isakar, kaw Nethanel wuod Zuar;
for Issachar, Nathaneel son of Zuar;
9 koa kuom joka Zebulun, kaw Eliab wuod Helon.
for Zebulun, Eliab son of Helon;
10 Magi e joma chwo mane okaw koa kuom yawuot Josef: koa kuom Efraim, kaw Elishama wuod Amihud; koa kuom Manase, kaw Gamaliel wuod Pedazur;
for the sons of Joseph: for Ephraim, Elishama son of Ammihud; for Manasseh, Gamaliel son of Pedahzur;
11 koa kuom joka Benjamin, kaw Abidan wuod Gideoni;
for Benjamin, Abidan son of Gideoni;
12 koa kuom joka Dan, kaw Ahiezer wuod Amishadai;
for Dan, Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai;
13 koa kuom joka Asher, kaw Pagiel wuod Okran;
for Asher, Pagiel son of Ocran;
14 koa kuom joka Gad, kaw Eliasaf wuod Dewel;
for Gad, Eliasaph son of Deuel;
15 koa kuom joka Naftali, kaw Ahira wuod Enan.”
for Naphtali, Ahira son of Enan.”
16 Magi e joma chwo mane oyier koa e dhoudi, mane gin jotend dhoudigo. Gin ema ne gin jotend dhout Israel.
These [are] those called of the congregation, princes of the tribes of their fathers; they [are] heads of the thousands of Israel.
17 Musa gi Harun nokawo nying joma nomigi,
And Moses takes—Aaron also—these men, who were defined by name,
18 kendo negiluongo jogwengʼno duto kanyakla e odiechiengʼ mokwongo mar dwe mar ariyo. Ji nonyiso nonro margi kaluwore gi gwengegi kod anywola mag-gi, kendo joma hikgi piero ariyo kadhi nyime nondik nying-gi, moro ka moro,
and they assembled all the congregation on the first of the second month, and they declare their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names from a son of twenty years and upward, by their counted heads,
19 mana kaka Jehova Nyasaye nochiko Musa. Kuom mano ma e kaka Musa nokwanogi e Thim mar Sinai.
as YHWH has commanded Moses; and he numbers them in the wilderness of Sinai.
20 Koa kuom nyikwa Reuben ma en wuowi makayo mar Israel: Chwo duto mahikgi piero ariyo kadhi nyime moromo tiyo e lweny nondik nying-gi, achiel ka achiel, kaluwore gi nonro mar dhoodgi kod anywolagi.
And the sons of Reuben, Israel’s firstborn—their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, by their counted heads, every male from a son of twenty years and upward, everyone going out to the host—
21 Kar romb joka Reuben ne gin ji alufu piero angʼwen gauchiel gi mia abich.
their numbered ones, for the tribe of Reuben, are forty-six thousand and five hundred.
22 Koa kuom nyikwa Simeon: Chwo duto mahikgi piero ariyo kadhi nyime moromo tiyo e lweny nondik nying-gi, achiel kaachiel, kaluwore gi nonro mar dhoodgi kod anywolagi.
Of the sons of Simeon—their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, its numbered ones in the number of names, by their counted heads, every male from a son of twenty years and upward, everyone going out to the host—
23 Kar romb joka Simeon ne gin ji alufu piero abich gochiko gi mia adek.
their numbered ones, for the tribe of Simeon, [are] fifty-nine thousand and three hundred.
24 Koa kuom nyikwa Gad: Chwo duto mahikgi piero ariyo kadhi nyime moromo tiyo e lweny nondik nying-gi, kaluwore gi nonro mar dhoodgi kod anywolagi.
Of the sons of Gad—their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, from a son of twenty years and upward, everyone going out to the host—
25 Kar romb joka Gad ne gin ji alufu piero angʼwen gabich, mia auchiel gi piero abich.
their numbered ones, for the tribe of Gad, [are] forty-five thousand and six hundred and fifty.
26 Koa kum nyikwa Juda: Chwo duto mahikgi piero ariyo kadhi nyime moromo tiyo e lweny nondik nying-gi, kaluwore gi nonro mar dhoodgi kod anywolagi.
Of the sons of Judah—their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, from a son of twenty years and upward, everyone going out to the host—
27 Kar romb joka Juda ne gin ji alufu piero abiriyo gangʼwen gi mia auchiel.
their numbered ones, for the tribe of Judah, [are] seventy-four thousand and six hundred.
28 Koa kuom nyikwa Isakar: Chwo duto mahikgi piero ariyo kadhi nyime moromo tiyo e lweny nondik nying-gi, kaluwore gi nonro mar dhoodgi kod anywolagi.
Of the sons of Issachar—their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, from a son of twenty years and upward, everyone going out to the host—
29 Kar romb joka Isakar ne gin ji alufu piero abich gangʼwen gi mia angʼwen.
their numbered ones, for the tribe of Issachar, [are] fifty-four thousand and four hundred.
30 Koa kuom nyikwa Zebulun: Chwo duto mahikgi piero ariyo kadhi nyime moromo tiyo e lweny nondik nying-gi, kaluwore gi nonro mar dhoodgi kod anywolagi.
Of the sons of Zebulun—their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, from a son of twenty years and upward, everyone going out to the host—
31 Kar romb joka Zebulun ne gin ji alufu piero abich gabiriyo gi mia angʼwen.
their numbered ones, for the tribe of Zebulun, [are] fifty-seven thousand and four hundred.
32 Kuom yawuot Josef: Koa e dhood Efraim: Chwo duto mahikgi piero ariyo kadhi nyime moromo tiyo e lweny nondik nying-gi, kaluwore gi nonro mar dhoodgi kod anywolagi.
Of the sons of Joseph: of the sons of Ephraim—their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, from a son of twenty years and upward, everyone going out to the host—
33 Kar romb joka Efraim ne gin ji alufu piero angʼwen gi mia abich.
their numbered ones, for the tribe of Ephraim, [are] forty thousand and five hundred.
34 Koa e dhood Manase: Chwo duto mahikgi piero ariyo kadhi nyime moromo tiyo e lweny nondik nying-gi, kaluwore gi nonro mar dhoodgi kod anywolagi.
Of the sons of Manasseh—their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, from a son of twenty years and upward, everyone going out to the host—
35 Kar romb joka Manase ne gin ji alufu piero adek gariyo gi mia ariyo.
their numbered ones, for the tribe of Manasseh, [are] thirty-two thousand and two hundred.
36 Koa kuom nyikwa Benjamin: Chwo duto mahikgi piero ariyo kadhi nyime moromo tiyo e lweny nondik nying-gi, kaluwore gi nonro mar dhoodgi kod anywolagi.
Of the sons of Benjamin—their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, from a son of twenty years and upward, everyone going out to the host—
37 Kar romb dhood Benjamin ne gin ji alufu piero adek gabich gi mia angʼwen.
their numbered ones, for the tribe of Benjamin, [are] thirty-five thousand and four hundred.
38 Koa kuom nyikwa Dan: Chwo duto mahikgi piero ariyo kadhi nyime moromo tiyo e lweny nondik nying-gi, kaluwore gi nonro mar dhoodgi kod anywolagi.
Of the sons of Dan—their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, from a son of twenty years and upward, everyone going out to the host—
39 Kar romb dhood Dan ne gin ji alufu piero auchiel gariyo gi mia abiriyo.
their numbered ones, for the tribe of Dan, [are] sixty-two thousand and seven hundred.
40 Koa kuom nyikwa Asher: Chwo duto mahikgi piero ariyo kadhi nyime moromo tiyo e lweny nondik nying-gi, kaluwore gi nonro mar dhoodgi kod anywolagi.
Of the sons of Asher—their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, from a son of twenty years and upward, everyone going out to the host—
41 Kar romb dhood Asher ne gin ji alufu piero angʼwen gachiel gi mia abich.
their numbered ones, for the tribe of Asher, [are] forty-one thousand and five hundred.
42 Koa kuom nyikwa Naftali: Chwo duto mahikgi piero ariyo kadhi nyime moromo tiyo e lweny nondik nying-gi, kaluwore gi nonro mar dhoodgi kod anywolagi.
Of the sons of Naphtali—their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names, from a son of twenty years and upward, everyone going out to the host—
43 Kar romb dhood Naftali ne gin ji alufu piero abich gadek gi mia angʼwen.
their numbered ones, for the tribe of Naphtali, [are] fifty-three thousand and four hundred.
44 Magi e joma Musa gi Harun kod jotend Israel apar gariyo nokwano, ka moro ka moro ochungʼ ne anywolane.
These [are] those numbered, whom Moses numbered—Aaron also—and the princes of Israel, twelve men, each one has been [the representative] for the house of his fathers.
45 Jo-Israel duto ma jo-higni piero ariyo kadhi nyime mane nyalo tiyo e lwenj Israel nokwan kaluwore gi anywolagi.
And they are, all those numbered of the sons of Israel, by the house of their fathers, from a son of twenty years and upward, everyone going out to the host in Israel,
46 Kar rombgi ne gin ji alufu mia auchiel gadek mia abich gi piero abich.
indeed, all those numbered are six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.
47 Anywola mar jo-Lawi, kata kamano, ne ok okwan gi joma moko.
And the Levites, for the tribe of their fathers, have not numbered themselves in their midst,
48 Jehova Nyasaye nowacho ne Musa niya,
seeing YHWH speaks to Moses, saying,
49 “Kik ikwan dhood Lawi kata riwogi e kweno mar jo-Israel mamoko.
“Only the tribe of Levi you do not number, and you do not take up their census in the midst of the sons of Israel;
50 Kuom mano, yier jo-Lawi mondo obed jorit Hemb Romo mar Rapar kaachiel gi gik moko duto manie iye. Gin ema nyaka gitingʼ Hemb Romo gi gige; kendo girite maber ka gilwore kod hembegi koni gi koni.
and you, appoint the Levites over the Dwelling Place of the Testimony, and over all its vessels, and over all that it has; they carry the Dwelling Place, and all its vessels, and they serve it; and they encamp around the Dwelling Place.
51 Kamoro amora ma itero e Hema, jo-Lawi ema nyaka gole oko, kendo kamoro amora midhi gure Hema, jo-Lawi ema nyaka gure. Ngʼato angʼata mosudo machiegni kode nyaka negi.
And in the journeying of the Dwelling Place, the Levites take it down, and in the encamping of the Dwelling Place, the Levites raise it up; and the stranger who is coming near is put to death.”
52 Jo-Israel nyaka gur hembegi e migepe, ka ngʼato ka ngʼato nitiere kare owuon kaluwore gi rangʼiny moketi.
And the sons of Israel have encamped, each by his camp, and each by his standard, by their hosts;
53 Jo-Lawi, kata kamano, nyaka gur hembegi e alwora mar Hemb Romo mar Rapar mondo omi mirimb Jehova Nyasaye kik lwar kuom oganda mar jo-Israel. Jo-Lawi nobed karito Hemb Romo mar Rapar.”
and the Levites encamp around the Dwelling Place of the Testimony; and there is no wrath on the congregation of the sons of Israel, and the Levites have kept the charge of the Dwelling Place of the Testimony.
54 Jo-Israel notimo gigi duto mana kaka Jehova Nyasaye nochiko Musa.
And the sons of Israel do according to all that YHWH has commanded Moses; so they have done.
