< Kwan 5 >
1 Jehova Nyasaye nowacho ne Musa niya,
And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,
2 “Mi jo-Israel chik mondo oriemb ngʼato angʼata man-gi tuo mar del kata man-gi tuo magolo tutu kata ngʼat ma ok ler nikech osemulo ringre ngʼama otho.
Command the children of Israel, that they send out of the camp every leper, and every one that hath an issue, and whosoever is defiled by the dead:
3 Riemb chwo kod mon duto mondo giwuok oko mar kambi; kik ginjaw kambi nikech adak e diergi.”
Both male and female shall ye send out, to without the camp shall ye send them; that they defile not their camps, in the midst whereof I dwell.
4 Jo-Israel notimo kamano; mine giriembogi oko mar kambi. Negitimo mana kaka Jehova Nyasaye nosechiko Musa.
And the children of Israel did so, and they sent them out to without the camp: as the Lord had spoken unto Moses, so did the children of Israel.
5 Jehova Nyasaye nowacho ne Musa niya,
And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,
6 “Wachne jo-Israel kama: ‘Ka dichwo kata dhako okwinyo wadgi e yo moro amora kendo obedo ngʼama ok ja-ratiro ne Jehova Nyasaye, ngʼatno oketho
Speak unto the children of Israel, If any man or woman commit any sin against a fellow-man, thereby doing a trespass against the Lord, and this person thus become guilty:
7 kendo nyaka ohul richo mosetimono. Nyaka ochiw chudo duto mar kethone, omed achiel kuom abich ewi chudono bangʼe ochiwe duto ne ngʼat mosekethone.
Then shall they confess their sin which they have committed; and he shall make restitution for his trespass with the principal thereof, and its fifth part shall he add thereto, and give it unto him against whom he hath trespassed.
8 Ka ngʼat ma okethneno onge gi watne moro amora ma inyalo mi chudono, to chudono en mar Jehova Nyasaye kendo nyaka chiwe ne jadolo, ka itere gi im ma ikwayonego pwodhruok kuom richo.
But if the man have no kinsman to whom restitution could be made for the trespass, then shall the trespass which is restored unto the Lord, belong to the priest; besides the ram of the atonement, whereby an atonement shall be made for him.
9 Chiwo duto mowal ma jo-Israel kelo gin mek jadolo.
And every offering of all the holy things of the children of Israel, which they bring unto the priest, shall be his.
10 Chiwo mowal mar ngʼato ka ngʼato en mare owuon, ka osechiwe ne jadolo nobed mar jadolo.’”
And every man's hallowed things shall be his: whatsoever any man giveth to the priest, shall belong to him.
11 Eka Jehova Nyasaye nowacho ne Musa niya,
And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,
12 “Wuo gi jo-Israel kendo iwachnegi kama: ‘Ka chi ngʼato ok obedo ja-adiera kendo ok obedo ja-ratiro
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If the wife of any man go aside, and commit a trespass against him,
13 mi oterore gi dichwo moro, kendo timni opandore ne chwore ma ok ongʼere (nikech onge janeno mane onene kendo ne ok omake randoo),
And a man lie with her carnally, and it be hidden from the eyes of her husband, because she hath been secretly defiled; and there be no witness against her, and she have not been detected and in the fact;
14 kendo ka nyiego omako chwor dhakono mi ochich kode, to chiegeno ochido, kata kapo ni nyiego omake kode kendo ochich kode kata obedo ni ok ochido,
And the spirit of jealousy come over him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she have been defiled; or the spirit of jealousy come over him, and he be jealous of his wife, and she have not been defiled:
15 to chworeno nyaka tere ir jadolo bed ni dhakono osedwanyore adier kata chwore chich mana kode kayiem. Bende nyaka oter chiwo mar achiel kuom apar mar efa mar mogo mar shairi e lo jaode. Ok onego ool mo kuome kata keto gima dungʼ tik mangʼwe ngʼar kuome, nikech en chiwo mar cham mar ketho chich, tiende ni en chiwo mifwenyogo adiera.
Then shall the man bring his wife unto the priest, and he shall bring her offering for her, the tenth part of an ephah of barley-meal; he shall not pour any oil upon it, nor put any frankincense thereupon; for it is a meat-offering of jealousy, a meat-offering of memorial, bringing iniquity to remembrance.
16 “‘Jadolo nokel dhakono mochungʼ e nyim Jehova Nyasaye.
And the priest shall bring her near, and place her before the Lord;
17 Eka notuom pi maler e agulu kendo nojow buru moa e dier kama ler mar lemo mi okwo e pigno.
And the priest shall take holy water in an earthen vessel; and of the dust that is on the floor of the tabernacle the priest shall take, and put it into the water;
18 Bangʼ ka jadolo osekelo dhakono mochungʼ e nyim Jehova Nyasaye, enogony yie wiye eka noket chiwo mifwenyogo adiera e lwete ma en chiwo mar cham mitiekogo chich. Jadolo to notingʼ pi mar muma mifwenyogo adiera e lwete owuon.
And the priest shall place the woman before the Lord, and uncover the woman's head, and put upon her hands the meat-offering of memorial, it is the meat-offering of jealousy; and in the hand of the priest shall be the bitter waters that bring the curse.
19 Eka jadolo noket dhakono kwongʼre kowacho niya, “Kaonge dichwo moseterore kodi kendo pod ok ibedo ja-adiera mibedo modwanyore kendo weyo yo ma ibedo mogak ka ingʼeyo ni in dhako man kod chwore, to mad pi makechni makelo kwongʼ kik hinyi.
And the priest shall charge her by an oath, and he shall say unto the woman, If no man have lain with thee, and if thou hast not gone aside to uncleanness behind thy husband: then be thou free from these bitter waters that bring the curse.
20 To ka en adier ni isedwanyori, mi ngʼato oterore kodi, kingʼeyo ni in chi ngʼato,”
But if thou hast gone aside behind thy husband, and if thou hast been defiled, and some man have lain with thee besides thy husband: —
21 to jadolo nokwongʼ dhakono niya, “Jehova Nyasaye mondo omi iyi ogore piny, kata omi ibwog nyathi ka kindene mar nywol pok ochopo, kibedogo ranyisi ne jou kuom wach kwongʼruok.
And the priest shall charge the woman with an oath of imprecation, and the priest shall say unto the woman, The Lord then make thee a curse and an oath among thy people, when the Lord doth cause thy thigh to fall away, and thy belly to swell;
22 Mad pigni donj e iyi kendo omi iyi kirre kata omi ibwog nyathi ka kinde mar nywolne pok ochopo.” “‘Bangʼe dhakono nodwok kawacho niya, “Amin. Mad obed kamano.”
And these waters that bring the curse shall go into thy bowels, to cause the belly to swell, and the thigh to fall away; and the woman shall say, Amen, amen.
23 “‘Nyaka jadolo ndik kwongʼ-gi e Kitabu bangʼe olingʼ-gi ei pi makechno.
And the priest shall write these curses on a roll, and he shall blot them out with the bitter waters.
24 Enoket dhakono mondo omodh pi makech makelo kwongʼ, kendo pigni nodonj e iye mi kelne sand mager.
And he shall cause the woman to drink the bitter waters that bring the curse: and the waters that bring the curse shall enter into her for bitterness.
25 Jadolo nokaw chiwo mar cham mar golo chich koa e lwet dhakono, mi nofwaye e nyim Jehova Nyasaye kendo okele e kendo mar misango.
And the priest shall take out of the woman's hand the meat-offering of jealousy, and he shall wave the meat-offering before the Lord, and bring it near to the altar:
26 Eka jadolo nojuk chiwo mar cham mopongʼo lwete kaka chiwo mar rapar kendo nowangʼe ewi kendo mar misango; bangʼ mano, noket dhakono omodh pigno.
And the priest shall take a handful from the meat-offering, as its memorial, and burn it upon the altar, and after that shall he cause the woman to drink the water.
27 Ka dipo ni osedwanyore en owuon kendo ok osebedo ja-ratiro ne chwore, to nokete omodh pigno makelo kwongʼ, kendo ma nomi obed gi sand mager; ma mi obwog nyathi ka ndalone pok ochopo kendo ngʼama okwongʼ e kind ogandane.
And when he hath made her drink the water, then shall it come to pass, if she have been defiled, and have committed a trespass against her husband, that the waters that bring the curse shall enter into her, for bitterness, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall fall away; and the woman shall become a curse among her people.
28 To ka dipo ni dhakono ok odwanyore kendo ok ochido, nokete thuolo mi ochak onywol nyithindo kendo.
And if the woman have not been defiled, but be clean: then shall she remain unharmed, and she shall conceive seed.
29 “‘Ma e chik mar tieko chich ka dhako ok ja-adiera kendo odwanyore, kongʼeyo ni pod en dhako man-gi chwore,
This is the law of jealousies, when a woman goeth aside behind her husband, and hath been defiled;
30 kata ka gimoro otimore ma chwore ochich kode. Jadolo nokete ochungʼ e nyim Jehova Nyasaye kendo nyaka oket chikni ne dhakoni.
Or when the spirit of jealousy cometh over him, and he be jealous of his wife; and he shall place the woman before the Lord, and the priest shall do unto her altogether according to this law.
31 Dichwo nobed maonge ketho moro amora, to dhakono ibiro kum ne richo mage.’”
And the man shall be guiltless from iniquity; but this woman shall bear her iniquity.
