< Nahum 2 >
1 Ngʼat mabiro monji ochomi, yaye Nineve, omiyo rit dala mochiel motegno, rit yoreni, bed gi ikruok maber, kuom tekoni duto!
He who dashes in pieces has come up against thee. Keep the fortress. Watch the way. Make thy loins strong. Fortify thy power mightily.
2 Jehova Nyasaye biro dwoko duongʼ mar Jakobo, mana ka duongʼ mar Israel, kata obedo ni joma omonje osekethe kendo oseketho puothegi mag mzabibu.
For Jehovah restores the excellency of Jacob, as the excellency of Israel, for the emptiers have emptied them out, and destroyed their vine-branches.
3 Okumba mag jolweny osebedo makwar ka remo; kendo lewni ma girwakorego bende kwar. Chuma manie ewi gechegi mil ka giikore ne chiengʼ lweny; tongegi opiag mabith kendo milni ka gikedogo.
The shield of his mighty men is made red. The valiant men are in scarlet. The chariots flash with steel in the day of his preparation, and the cypress spears are brandished.
4 Geche powore e yore mag dala, ka giringo koni gi koni e tunge mag dala. Gichalo gi rameny maliel mager, ka gipiachore ka mil polo.
The chariots rage in the streets; they rush to and fro in the broad ways. The appearance of them is like torches. They run like the lightnings.
5 Oluongo jolweny mage moyiero, to gichwanyore ka gidhi. Giringo ka gidhi e ohinga mar dala; ka gigengʼore gi okumba.
He remembers his nobles. They stumble in their march. They make haste to the wall of it, and the mantelet is prepared.
6 Ohinga mane gigengʼogo pi madonjo e dala ruoth omukore, bende od ruoth ogore piny.
The gates of the rivers are opened, and the palace is dissolved.
7 Osegol Chik ni dala maduongʼ nyaka maki ma ter e piny ma wendo. Wasumbinigi ma nyiri ywagore ka akuche kendo ka gidwongʼo korgi.
And it is decreed. She is uncovered. She is carried away, and her handmaids moan as with the voice of doves, beating upon their breasts.
8 Nineve chalo dago, kendo pige mol kadhi. Giywak kagiwacho niya, “Chungʼ! Chungʼ!” to onge ngʼama lokore duogo.
But Nineveh has been from of old like a pool of water. Yet they flee away. Stand, stand, they cry, but none looks back.
9 Yakuru fedha! Yakuru dhahabu! Mwandugi ngʼeny mokadho, gin mwandu mogol kuonde kenogi duto.
Take ye the spoil of silver. Take the spoil of gold. For there is no end of the store, the glory of all goodly furniture.
10 Odongʼ nono, omaye gik moko duto, bende olonye modongʼ duk. Kibaji ogoyo chunygi, bende chongegi onyosere, kendo dendgi tetni ka ngʼato ka ngʼato wangʼe ojowore.
She is empty, and void, and waste. And the heart melts, and the knees smite together, and anguish is in all loins, and the faces of them all have grown pale.
11 Koro to ere bur sibuor kama ne gipidhoe nyithindgi, kama sibuor madichwo gi sibuor madhako nodhiye, ka nyithind sibuochego onge gi gima ginyalo luoro?
Where is the den of the lions, and the feeding-place of the young lions, where the lion and the lioness walked, the lion's whelp, and none made them afraid?
12 Sibuor ne yangʼo le moromo nyithinde kendo ne gideyo le ma gichamo gi nyawadgi, ka opongʼo kar kano chiembe kod kuonde dakne gi gik monegi.
The lion tore in pieces enough for his whelps, and strangled for his lionesses, and filled his caves with prey, and his dens with prey.
13 Jehova Nyasaye Maratego wacho niya, “An gi sigu kodu. Abiro wangʼo gecheu mag lweny gi mach mawuog iro kendo ligangla biro tieko sibuoche matindo maroteke. Kata ringregi motho ok anawenu e piny. Dwond jooteu ok nowinj kendo.”
Behold, I am against thee, says Jehovah of hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions. And I will cut off thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard.
