< Mathayo 4 >
1 Eka Roho Maler notelo ne Yesu nyaka e thim mondo Satan oteme.
Then, Jesus was led up into the wilderness, by the Spirit, to be tempted by the adversary;
2 Bangʼ tweyo chiemo kuom ndalo piero angʼwen odiechiengʼ kod otieno, kech nochako kaye.
and, fasting forty days and forty nights, —afterwards, he hungered.
3 Jatem nobiro ire kendo nowachone niya, “Ka in Wuod Nyasaye adier to nyis kitegi mondo olokre kuon.”
And, coming near, the tempter said to him, —If thou art God’s, Son, speak! that, these stones, may become, loaves.
4 Yesu nodwoke niya, “Ondiki ni, ‘Dhano ok bed mangima nikech chiemo kende, to nikech wach ka wach moa e dho Nyasaye.’”
But, he, answering, said, It is written, —Not on bread alone, shall man live, but on every declaration coming forth through the mouth of God.
5 Eka Satan notere nyaka dala maduongʼ maler, kendo nomiyo ochungo e osuch hekalu malo mogik.
Then, the adversary taketh him with him, unto the holy city, —and he set him upon the pinnacle of the temple;
6 Nowachone niya, “Ka in wuod Nyasaye to chikri piny. Nimar ondiki niya, “‘Obiro miyo malaika mage chik nikech in, kendo gibiro tingʼi malo e lwetgi, mondo kik ichwany tiendi e kidi.’”
and saith to him—If thou art God’s, Son, cast thyself down, —for it is written, To his messengers, will he give charge concerning thee; and, on hands, will they bear thee up, lest once thou strike, against a stone, thy foot.
7 Yesu nodwoke niya, “Ondiki bende ni, ‘Kik item Jehova Nyasaye ma Nyasachi.’”
Jesus said to him, Again, it is written, —Thou shalt not put to the test, the Lord thy God.
8 Eka Satan nokawe, motere nyaka ewi got moro mabor ahinya, kendo nosiemone pinjeruodhi mag piny gi duongʼ mane gin-go.
Again, the adversary taketh him with him, into an exceeding high mountain, —and pointeth out to him all the kingdoms of the world, and their glory;
9 Nowachone niya, “Magi duto abiro miyi ka ikulorina piny kendo ilama.”
and said to him, All these things, will I give thee, —if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10 Yesu nowachone niya, “Aa kuoma, Satan! Nikech ondiki ni, ‘Lam Jehova Nyasaye ma Nyasachi kendo en kende ema itine.’”
Then saith Jesus unto him, Withdraw, Satan! for it is written, —The Lord thy God, shalt thou worship, and, to him alone, render divine service.
11 Eka Satan noweye, kendo malaike nobiro motiyone.
Then, the adversary leaveth him, —and lo! messengers came near, and began ministering unto him.
12 Ka Yesu nowinjo ni Johana oseter e od twech, nodok Galili.
And, hearing that, John, had been delivered up, he retired into Galilee;
13 Nowuok Nazareth modhi odak Kapernaum, mane ni e dho nam e gwengʼ mar Zebulun gi Naftali,
and, forsaking Nazareth, he came and fixed his dwelling in Capernaum, which was by the lake, —within the bounds of Zebulun and Naphtali:
14 mondo ochop gima nowachi gi dho janabi Isaya niya,
that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying:
15 “Piny Zebulun gi piny Naftali, man Yor Nam modak loka aora Jordan, Galili mar joma ok jo-Yahudi,
Land of Zebulun, and land of Naphtali, the lake-way across the Jordan, —Galilee of the nations,
16 joma odak e mudho oseneno ler maduongʼ; jogo modak e piny ma tipo mar tho oumo, ler oserienynegi.”
The people that was sitting in darkness, a great light, beheld, —and, on them who were sitting in land and shade of death, Light rose on them.
17 Chakre kindeno kadhi nyime, Yesu nochako yalo niya, “Weuru richo nikech pinyruodh polo osekayo machiegni.”
From that time, began Jesus to be making proclamation, and saying, —Repent ye, for the kingdom of the heavens hath drawn near.
18 Kane oyudo Yesu wuotho e dho Nam Galili, noneno owete ariyo, Simon miluongo ni Petro gi owadgi ma Andrea. Noyudo gibolo gokgi e nam, nimar ne gin jolupo.
And, walking round beside the sea of Galilee, he saw two brethren—Simon who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother, —casting a large fishing-net into the sea, for they were fishers;
19 Yesu nowachonegi niya, “Biuru uluwa, mondo kar ywayo rech to aketu ubed joywa ji.”
and he saith unto them, Come after me, —and I will make you fishers, of men.
20 Gisano ne giweyo gogo mag-gi gisano mi giluwe.
And, they, straightway, leaving the nets, followed him.
21 Kane ochwalore nyime koa kanyo, noneno owete ariyo mamoko, Jakobo wuod Zebedi gi owadgi ma Johana. Ne gin e yie kaachiel gi wuon-gi ma Zebedi, ka giloso gokegi. Yesu noluongogi,
And, going forward from thence, he saw other two brethren—James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother—in the boat with Zebedee their father, putting in order their nets, —and he called them.
22 kendo gisano ne giweyo yie kod wuon-gi mi giluwe.
And, they, straightway, leaving the boat and their father, followed him.
23 Yesu nodhi e piny Galili duto, kopuonjo e sinagokegi, koyalo Injili mar pinyruoth kendo kochango kit tuoche gi midekre duto e dier ji.
And Jesus was going round throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and proclaiming the glad-message of the kingdom, —and curing every disease, and every infirmity, among the people.
24 Humbe nolandore e piny Siria duto, kendo ji nokelone joma ne tuo gi kit tuoche mayoreyore gi joma ne nigi rem mapek gi joma ne nigi jochiende gi joma ne chunygi yudhore kod joma ne nigi athany, mi nochangogi.
And forth went the report of him into all Syria; and they brought unto him all who were sick, with divers diseases and tortures, distressed, demonized and lunatic and paralyzed, —and he cured them.
25 Oganda maduongʼ moa Galili gi gwengʼ mar Dekapoli gi Jerusalem gi Judea kod gwengʼ man loka Jordan ne oluwe.
And there followed him large multitudes—from Galilee, and Decapolis, and Jerusalem, and Judaea, and across the Jordan.
