< Mathayo 26 >
1 Kane Yesu osetieko wacho wechegi duto, nowachone jopuonjrene niya,
AND it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said to his disciples,
2 “Kaka ungʼeyo, odongʼ ndalo ariyo kende mondo chiengʼ Pasaka ochopi, kendo Wuod Dhano ibiro chiwo mondo ogur.”
Ye know that after two days is the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.
3 Eka jodolo madongo gi jodong oganda nochokore e dala jadolo maduongʼ, mane nyinge Kaifas,
Then were the chief priests and scribes, and the elders of the people gathered together in the palace of the high-priest, called Caiaphas.
4 kendo negichano mondo gimak Yesu e yo moro malingʼ-lingʼ mondo ginege.
And they consulted together, how they might seize Jesus by guile, and put him to death.
5 To negiwacho niya, “Kik watim kamano kinde nyasi, nono to ji ogomo.”
But they said, Not on the feast-day, lest there be a tumult among the people.
6 Kane oyudo Yesu ni Bethania e dala ngʼat moro miluongo ni Simon ja-dhoho,
Now when Jesus was at Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
7 dhako moro nobiro ire gi chupa mar alabasta, mopongʼ gi mo mangʼwe ngʼar kendo ma nengone tek, kendo noole duto e wiye sa ma nobet kochiemo e mesa.
there came to him a woman having an alabaster-box of very precious aromatic ointment, and poured it upon his head as he sat at table.
8 Ka jopuonjre noneno mano, ne gisin, mi giwacho niya, “Morni iketho malit kayiem nangʼo?
But when the disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, For what end is this waste?
9 Donge morni ne inyalo loke pesa e nengo mamalo mondo omi jodhier pesago.”
For this ointment might have been sold for a considerable sum, and given to the poor.
10 To kaka Yesu nongʼeyo pachgino, nowachonegi niya, “Uchando dhakoni nangʼo? Osetimona gima ber miwuoro.
Then Jesus knowing it, said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath performed a good act upon me:
11 Joma odhier ubiro bedogo kinde duto to an ok ubi siko ka un koda ndalo duto.
for the poor ye have always with you, but me ye have not always:
12 Kane oolo mo mangʼwe ngʼarno e ringra, notimo kamano mondo oikago ne ik.
for in pouring this odoriferous ointment on my body, she hath done it for my burial.
13 Awachonu adier ni kamoro amora ma noyalie Injilini e kind ogendini duto mag piny, gima dhakoni otimo bende nohul, kiparego.”
Verily I say unto you, Wherever this Gospel is preached through the whole world, what she hath done shall be also spoken of for a memorial of her.
14 Eka achiel kuom ji apar gariyogo, mane iluongo ni Judas Iskariot, nodhi ir jodolo madongo,
Then went one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, to the chief priests,
15 mopenjogi niya, “Angʼo mubiro miya ka achiwe e lwetu?” Omiyo ne gikwanone pesa mamingli mag fedha piero adek.
and said, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? Then they placed before him thirty pieces of silver.
16 Chakre chiengʼno kadhi nyime Judas nochako manyo kinde maber mar kete e lwetgi.
And from that time he sought an opportunity to deliver him up to them.
17 Odiechiengʼ mokwongo mar nyasi mar makati ma ok oketie Thowi, jopuonjre nobiro ir Yesu mopenje niya, “Idwaro mondo wadhi waikni kama ichame Pasaka kanye?”
Then on the first day of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying to him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?
18 Nodwoko niya, “Dhiuru ei dala maduongʼ ir ngʼat moro kendo uwachne ni, ‘Japuonj wacho niya, sana mane ochanna chiegni chopo, omiyo abiro timo nyasi mar Sap Pasaka kod jopuonjrena e odi.’”
And he said, Go into the city, unto such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand: I will keep the passover with my disciples at thy house.
19 Omiyo jopuonjre notimo kaka Yesu nochikogi kendo negiiko Sap Pasaka.
And his disciples did as Jesus commanded them; and they made ready the passover.
20 Kane ochopo godhiambo, Yesu nobet kachiemo kaachiel gi jopuonjre apar gariyogo.
And when the evening was come, he sat down at table with the twelve.
21 To kane oyudo gichiemo, nowacho niya, “Awachonu adier ni achiel kuomu biro ndhoga.”
And as they were eating, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
22 Chunygi nodoko malit ahinya, kendo negichako wachone moro ka moro niya, “Ruoth, dobed an koso?”
And exceedingly grieved, they began to say to him every one of them, Lord, am I the person?
23 Yesu nodwokogi niya, “Ngʼat machiemo koda e tawo achiel biro ndhoga.
But he answering said, He that dippeth his hand with me into the dish, that man shall betray me.
24 Wuod Dhano biro dhi adier mana kaka nondiki kuome. To ngʼat mandhogo Wuod Dhano none malit! Dine obedo maber moloyo kane ok onywole.”
The Son of man indeed is departing, as it is written of him: but wo to that man, by whom the Son of man is betrayed! well had it been for that man if he had never had a being.
25 Eka Judas, ngʼat mane biro ndhoge nowacho niya, “Rabi, dobed an koso?” Yesu nodwoko niya, “Ee, en in.”
Then Judas, who betrayed him, addressing him said, Master, is it I? He saith to him, Thou hast named the person.
26 Kane oyudo gichiemo, Yesu nokawo makati kendo bangʼ goyo erokamano, nongʼinge momiyo jopuonjrene, kowacho niya, “Kawuru, chamuru; ma en ringra.”
Then as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessing, brake, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat: this is my body.
27 Bangʼe nokawo kikombe mi ogoyo erokamano bangʼe omiyogi kowacho niya, “Madhuru gima ni e iye, un duto.
And taking the cup, and giving thanks, he gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of this:
28 Ma e remba mar singruok, mochwer ne ji mangʼeny mondo okel warruok kuom richo.
for this is my blood, that blood of the new testament, which is shed for many, for the remission of sins.
29 Anyisou ni ok anamadh olemb mzabibuni kendo, chakre kawuono nyaka chop odiechiengʼno ma anamadhee manyien, kaachiel kodu, e pinyruoth mar Wuora.”
And I tell you, That I will no more henceforth drink of this produce of the vine, until that day when I drink it with you, new, in the kingdom of my Father.
30 Kane gisewero wend pak, ne giwuok gidhi nyaka e Got Zeituni.
And when they had sung an hymn, they went out to the mount of Olives.
31 Eka Yesu nonyisogi niya, “Otienoni un duto ubiro ringo uweya, nimar ondiki niya, “‘Abiro goyo jakwath, mi kweth mag rombe noke.’
Then saith Jesus unto them, Ye all will be offended at me this night: for it is written, “I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.”
32 To bangʼ ka asechier to anatelnu adhi Galili.”
But after I am risen, I will go before you into Galilee.
33 Petro nodwoko niya, “Kata ka ji duto oringo oweyi to an ok abi weyi.”
Then Peter, taking up the word, said to him, Though all should be offended at thee, yet will I never be offended.
34 Yesu nodwoko niya, “Awachoni adier ni otienoni, kapok thuon gweno okok, wangʼ inikweda nyadidek.”
Jesus saith to him, I tell thee of a certainty, that this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.
35 To Petro nowacho koramo niya, “Kata ka ochuno ni nyaka atho kodi, to ok abi kwedi ngangʼ.” Kendo jopuonjre mamoko duto bende nowuoyo machalre gi Petro.
Peter said to him, Though I should die with thee, never will I deny thee. In like manner also said all the disciples.
36 Eka Yesu nodhi gi jopuonjrene nyaka kama iluongo ni Gethsemane, kendo nowachonegi niya, “Beduru ka kapod adhi nyime kucho mondo alam.”
Then cometh Jesus with them to a place called Gethsemane, and saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.
37 Nokawo Petro kod yawuot Zebedi ariyo modhigo, eka nochako bedo gi kuyo kod paro mangʼeny.
And taking Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be deeply sorrowful, and to be overwhelmed with dejection.
38 Eka nowachonegi niya, “Chunya opongʼ gi midhiero gi lit nyaka kar tho. Beduru ka kendo beduru ka urito kaachiel koda.”
Then saith he to them. My soul is exceeding sorrowful even to death: abide here, and watch with me.
39 Ne ochwalore nyime matin bangʼe ogoyo chonge piny kokulore nyaka e lowo eka olemo niya, “Wuora, kanyalore to yie mondo kikombeni ogol kuoma. To ok kaka an ema adwaro to mana kaka in ema idwaro.”
And going a little farther, he fell on his face, praying, and saying, My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt.
40 Bangʼe nodok ir jopuonjrene monwangʼo ka ginindo. Nopenjo Petro niya, “Joka ma, ne ok unyal rito koda kata kuom sa achiel kende?
And he cometh to the disciples, and findeth them sleeping, and he saith to Peter, Is it so, that ye have not strength to watch with me one hour?
41 Beduru motangʼ kendo lamuru mondo kik udonj e tem. Chuny oikore makmana ringruok to nyap.”
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh weak.
42 Ne owuok odhi kendo, mar ariyo, kendo nolamo niya, “Wuora, ka ok nyalre mondo ogol okombeni makmana ka amadhe to dwaroni mondo otimre.”
Again the second time he went away, and prayed, saying, O my Father, If it be not possible, that this cup pass from me, but that I should drink it, thy will be done.
43 To kane odwogo, nochako oyudogi ka ginindo, nikech nindo noingogi.
And coming, he found them asleep again, for their eyes were weighed down.
44 Omiyo ne oweyogi, kendo nochako owuok modok mi olemo mar adek, kowacho gima chalre.
And leaving them, he went away again, and prayed the third time, repeating the same sentence.
45 Eka noduogo ir jopuonjrene mowachonegi niya, “Pod unindo aninda kendo uyweyo? Neuru, sa osechopo, kendo Wuod Dhano koro indhogo ka ikete e lwet joricho.
Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Do ye still sleep on, and repose yourselves? lo! the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
46 Chunguru wadhi! Jandhokna osechopo!”
Arise, let us go: lo! he that betrayeth me approaches.
47 Kane pod owuoyo, Judas, mane en achiel kuom jopuonjrene apar gariyo, nochopo. Ne en gi oganda maduongʼ mane omanore gi gik lwenje kaka ligangla gi arunge. Ne oorgi koa ir jodolo madongo gi jodong oganda.
And while he was yet speaking, behold, Judas one of the twelve came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.
48 Noyudo jandhok osechano kodgi ranyisi mobiro timo kowacho niya, “Ngʼat ma wangʼ ananyodhi e en; makeuru.”
Now he that betrayed him had given them a signal, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that is he: seize him.
49 Judas nopusore piyo piyo nyaka ir Yesu, mowachone niya, “Misawa Rabi!” bangʼe to onyodhe.
And immediately approaching to Jesus, he said, Hail, master; and kissed him.
50 To Yesu nodwoko niya, “Osiepna, tim gima nokeli.” Eka jogo nochorore nyime mi ondhiyo Yesu, kendo negimake.
Then spake Jesus to him, Friend, for what purpose art thou here? Then approaching they laid hands on Jesus, and seized him.
51 Gikanyono achiel kuom joma ne nigi Yesu nowuodho liganglane oko, kendo notongʼo jatij jadolo maduongʼ, mi ochodo ite oko.
And behold, one of those who were with Jesus stretching out his hand, drew his sword, and striking at a servant of the high-priest, cut off his ear.
52 Yesu nowachone niya, “Dwok liganglani e olalo, nimar ji duto ma wuodho ligangla notho gi ligangla.
Then saith Jesus unto him, Return thy sword into its sheath: for all who take the sword, shall perish by the sword.
53 Iparo ni ok anyal kwayo Wuora mi oketna tenge migepe apar gariyo mag malaike mondo okedna sani sani?
Thinkest thou, that I cannot now entreat my Father, and he will give me more than twelve legions of angels?
54 Ndiko dichop kare nade mawacho ni gigo nyaka timre kaka gitimore sani?”
But how then would the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?
55 E sechego Yesu nowachone ogandano niya, “Uwuokna oko mondo umaka ka utingʼo ligengni kod arunge mana ka gima an jatend koko mar jo-jendeke nangʼo? Pile ka pile an kodu e laru mag hekalu ka apuonjo, to ne ok umaka.
In that hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a robber, with swords and staves to apprehend me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid not hold upon me.
56 To gima timoreni osetimore kama mondo Ndiko mag jonabi ochopi.” Eka jopuonjre duto noweye moringo odhi.
But all this is come to pass, that the scriptures of the prophets should be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.
57 Joma nomako Yesu nokawe motere nyaka ir Kaifas jadolo maduongʼ, kuma jopuonj chik kod jodongo noyudo osechokoree.
Then they who had apprehended Jesus, brought him to Caiaphas the high-priest, where the scribes and elders were assembled.
58 To Petro noluwo bangʼe gichien, nyaka notundo e laru mar jadolo maduongʼ. Nodonjo kendo nobet piny kod jorito mondo one ane gima ne biro timore.
But Peter followed him at a great distance unto the palace of the high-priest, and entering in, sat down with the servants, to see the issue.
59 Jodolo madongo gi jobuch Sanhedrin duto ne manyo nend miriambo moro mane ginyalo donjonego Yesu mondo gingʼadne buch tho.
Now the chief priests and elders and the whole sanhedrim, sought false witness against Jesus, that they might put him to death;
60 To ne ok giyudo ketho moro amora kuome, kata obedo ni jonend miriambo mangʼeny nobiro nyime. Achien mogik, ariyo nobiro nyime,
and found none: and though many false witnesses came, they found it not sufficient. But at the last two false witnesses stepping forth,
61 kendo negiwacho ka giramo niya, “Ngʼatni nowacho ni, ‘Anyalo muko hekalu mar Nyasayeni mi achak agere kendo bangʼ ndalo adek.’”
said, This fellow said, I am able to pull down the temple of God, and to build it up in three days.
62 Eka jadolo maduongʼ nochungʼ malo mopenjo Yesu niya, “Dak idwok wachno? Ma wach manade ma jogi wacho kuomini?”
And the high-priest rising up, said to him, Answerest thou nothing? what do these men witness against thee?
63 To Yesu nolingʼ alingʼa thi. Jadolo maduongʼ nowachone niya, “Achiki mondo ikwongʼri gi nying Nyasaye Mangima ni inyiswa ka in e Kristo ma Wuod Nyasaye.”
But Jesus was silent. And the high-priest addressing him, said, I adjure thee, by the living God, that thou tell us, if thou art the Messiah, the Son of God.
64 Yesu nodwoke niya, “E en kaka iwachono. To awachonu un duto ni e ndalo mabiro unune Wuod Dhano kobet e bat korachwich mar Jal Maratego kendo kolor oa e boche polo.”
Jesus saith to him, Thou hast spoken the fact. Moreover I tell you, hereafter ye shall see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
65 Eka jadolo maduongʼ noyiecho lepe, kowacho niya, “Oseyenyo! Pod wadwaro joneno mamoko nangʼo? Neuru, koro wasewinjo gi itwa ayanjeno.
Then the high-priest rent his garments, saying, he hath blasphemed: what farther need have we of witnesses? lo! now ye have heard his blasphemy:
66 Un to uparo nade?” Negidwoko niya, “Owinjore gi tho.”
what think ye? They answered and said, He is deserving of death.
67 Eka ne gingʼulo olawo e lela wangʼe, kendo negigoye ngum. Jomoko to nopame,
Then they spit in his face, and buffeted him about; and some slapt his face with their hands,
68 kagiwacho niya, “Hul ane, yaye Kristo. En ngʼa mogoyi?”
saying, Prophesy to us, you Messiah, who it is that struck thee!
69 Sa ma noyudo Petro obet oko e laru, jatich ma nyako moro nobiro ire mowachone niya, “In bende ne in gi Yesu ja-Galili.”
Now Peter sat without in the hall: and there came to him a single maid-servant, saying, Thou also wert with Jesus of Galilee.
70 To nokwere e nyimgi duto, kowacho niya, “Ok angʼeyo gima iwachono.”
But he denied it before them all, asserting, I know not what thou art saying.
71 Eka nongʼwel odhi e dhorangach, to kuno bende nyako machielo nonene mi owachone joma ne ni kanyo niya, “Ngʼatni ne nitiere gi Yesu ja-Nazareth.”
Then as he was going out at the gate, another maid-servant saw him, and saith to those who were there, This fellow also was with Jesus of Nazareth.
72 To nodagi wachno kendo nokwongʼore kowacho niya, “Ok angʼeyo ngʼatno!”
Then again he denied with an oath, I know not the man.
73 Bangʼ kinde matin, joma nochungʼ kanyo nodhi nyaka but Petro mowachone niya, “Ka iwacho adier, to in achiel kuomgi, nikech yo miwuoyogo huli e iro.”
But after a little while they who stood by, came up and said to Peter, Assuredly thou also art one of them: for even thy speech maketh thee manifest.
74 Eka nochako kwongʼore mowachonegi koramo niya, “Ok angʼeyo ngʼatno adier!” To mana gisano thuon gweno moro nokok.
Then began he to utter the bitterest curses, and to swear, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.
75 Eka Petro noparo wach mane oyudo Yesu osewachone niya, “Kapok thuon gweno okok, to wangʼ inikweda nyadidek.” To nowuok odhiyo oko kendo noywak malit.
And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, who had said unto him, Before the cock shall crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And going out, he wept bitterly.
